We need to compose an influential message about changing up the Super Bowl fields to its glory in the 80’s and 90’s (in lieu of the 100th anniversary & beyond). In 2009, before the Colts/Saints Super Bowl, I wrote a letter to Ed Mangan (NFL Head of Groundskeeping) months before the game. I told him about the field designs in the 80’s (team color painted on 20’s / team color outlines etc etc), and why it was important for people, like us, viewing the game. Probably never opened the letter (couldn’t find his email address). Hope our brother with the media pass will rep us well! Good luck!

Only thing left to salvage this field is: (1) paint team colored lines on ‘20’s’ (2) red/white/blue line on 50 (3) Outline numbers in team colors

I wrote to Ed Mangan before Super Bowl XLIV and requested that they bring back team colored outlined numbers and 20 / 50 stripes. Obviously did not happen. Our only hope is that one of us takes up grounds keeping as a profession and work our way up to work for the NFL. The dueling helmets with the conference logo also needs a comeback (with a modern twist). These recent Super Bowl fields are grossly pathetic.
