  1. Not too fond of that stenciled 'W', personally. Their current one looks better and the NFL already has a couple of teams with stencil wordmarks (Packers, Steelers).
  2. The 2022 schedule has dropped, and it looks like it's business as usual. 18 games for each team across 21 weeks, with the Grey Cup set for Nov. 20.
  3. EDIT: Just realized this post would be more appropriate in the 'sports logos' forum. My bad, please ignore. NWSL expansion club San Diego Wave has unveiled their crest today:
  4. The USFL unveiled their initial eight teams this morning, all legacy brands.
  5. I thought what they did from 2002 to 2010 was pretty neat -- wear the TC hat at home and wear the M hat on the road.
  6. The Albany FireWolves have unveiled their uniforms: Gotta say, I'm glad they ditched their initial navy & red color scheme for this burgundy and gold. I really dig these uniforms.
  7. Losing red and going to black & grey confuses me, especially for a Calgary sports team. I also figured they'd get an entirely new logo, not just an update from the original (though this update does look better).
  8. It sounds like Stony Brook may have been the ones to file the claim: https://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Albany-FireWolves-change-logo-before-first-game-16290367.php. I just noticed the change today, and I follow the NLL pretty closely. Weird that there was no formal announcement by the league or team when it happened.
  9. I agree with KJ about the 'T' -- seems a bit wonky. Love the color scheme though, excited to see some uniforms.
  10. A handful of NLL teams need updating. The Rochester Knighthawks have become the Halifax Thunderbirds, with an expansion franchise taking Rochester's place with the same name. Additionally, the expansion New York Riptide are missing. Finally, to be nit-picky, the Mothership has the Colorado Mammoth's primary labeled as their alt currently.
  11. This realignment plan reminds me of Tom Ziller's proposal he wrote in an article for SB Nation (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/11/26/7280545/nba-schedule-reform-regions-map-playoffs).%C2'> I think it's a solid plan, but I do have a few tweaks that I would add: -Your schedule plan is slightly different from Ziller's, but I would add the four games to make it 82 as it is right now in real life. How would you accomplish this? Play one team from each of the other four divisions an additional third time. How would the NBA decide who plays who in these extra games? Base it off of the previous year's standings, much like the NFL does with it's extra two in-conference games. -I would not award each division winner an automatic top-5 seed. However, I would have them locked in for a top-8 seed, as I think it's important a division winner plays a home playoff series in the NBA. This is similar to how the NBA operates in real life, as three division winners in the same conference are guaranteed a top-4 seed, but not a top-3 seed.
  12. Vikings/Twins/Wolves/Wild: Born and raised in Minneapolis. My family was never big into sports, however, I just naturally gravitated to playing sports and following all of our pro sides. Seattle Sounders FC: This one confuses some of my friends, but when Seattle got their expansion franchise in the late 00's, I was looking for an MLS team to root for and Seattle unveiled their shield/colors/kit and I fell in love. Blue and green are by far my two favorite colors, so this is a main reason for my fandom. I also follow Minnesota United FC (2nd tier team) closely and hope we can get an MLS team soon. Liverpool FC: Like someone said above, whenever an American roots for an EPL team, there's always some odd story behind it. Here, I was trying to find a team to root for so I did some research. I decided on Liverpool for a few reasons but the main 3: 1) My good friend is a fan and her father is a born and bred Scouser, 2) I absolutely loved "You'll Never Walk Alone" when I first heard it, & 3) When I heard the tragic story of Hillsborough I couldn't help but understand the LFC supporter culture more and respect it immensely. Carlton FC: (Aussie rules football). Decided on following this sport and team back when I was 13. I chose Carlton because they were unique in that they had a full logo on their jumper, looking almost like a hockey sweater. That was literally the only reasoning. However, I still follow them very closely and passionately despite the silly reasoning
  13. I know plenty of people from the Cities who attend school in Madison and even some Sconnies here at the U, and it baffles me that some people would expect them to completely change up their rooting preferences based on them changing schools. I'd never expect a Wisconsin native attending the U of M to root for the Vikings or Twins. Then again, it upsets me when they cheer for the Badgers over the Gophers. I mean, c'mon you attend school here!!
  14. While I'm happy the NBA is considering realignment, or at least a change in playoff format, I'm not sure how they're going to do it. Some people want both conferences abolished when playoffs are taken into consideration, but I'm not sure that would be perfect, since the NBA has always had their Finals done East vs. West. Maybe they could go the route of the CFL/NHL and have a cross-over rule? Top 6 teams from each conference make the playoffs, then the next 4 teams with the best records could be assigned to the bracket based on their potential opponent? I don't know, that format might seem odd to some. The NBA is going to have a lot of options on the table, though
  15. Nevermind my previous post, I got that now. Thanks for the insight! I have one more question though, and it's probably dumb, but I'm new haha I've noticed people with championship banners of their favorite teams as a signature...how do I get that? That looks so awesome! Thanks!
  16. PM an admin/mod regarding your username. Best chance. Who can I PM then? Who here is an admin??
  17. Ah, I see. Well that's unfortunate. You'd think they would change that, but it is what it is. Thank you two for your help!
  18. Sorry, someone may have already asked this, but the other thread didn't really help me. How do I change my username? I'd just like my real name out of it, and disconnect this account from my Twitter. If anyone would help, it'd be great. Thank you!
