Jefferson memorial.
Jefferson memorial has a plain dome and is in the wrong position on the "skyline." My guess is nike making s------tuff up.
For the Nats, it's the White House, Capitol, Lincoln., and Jefferson.- 4

Left is the Washington monument, center is the Capitol; I have no idea what that dome on the right is supposed to represent

He even had the balls to ask Largent for 80 when he went to Seattle(not a classy move but that's just my opinion).
13 minutes ago, BBTV said:It's a pretty scummy move and any player that is so self absorbed that they have to ask a legend to surrender the honor of a retired number deserves two ripped Achilles tendons and a compound fracture of the C7 vertebrae.
Except that's not how it went down.
QuoteInstead, it was GM Bob Whitsitt who orchestrated the entire thing.
“It was a little bit of a scam in that he called Jerry and said, ‘Hey Jerry, Steve Largent really wants you to wear his number in Seattle.’ Jerry wasn’t even thinking about that,” Largent said. “Then (Bob) calls me and says, ‘Jerry really wants to wear your number, can he wear it?’”
Rice corroborated Largent’s recount of how it went down.
“I had no intent on wearing his jersey when I went to Seattle,” the 49ers legend told NFL Network. “He’s a legend, and I would never cross that line. I guess we both got played by management.”
Largent allowed Rice to wear his number thinking it was the receiver who made the request, even though he was a bit (and understandably) uneasy about it. He felt slighted that the organization that retired his number would even make such a request. A retired number doesn’t mean “retired until an opportunity presents itself for it to be worn again.”
The crux of the issue was presenting the option to Rice as if it would be this huge honor for Largent.
How long before someone breaks open a case of Commanders gear at a sporting goods store and lets the news out early?

Wow. They could at least have a better transition for the left center field wall. You have a 400ft LEFT of the 380 ft section? Imagine trying to field a ball in that area.
They compare it to PNC in Pittsburgh. I don't know why they didn't move the lower bullpen next to the ivy wall instead.

Orioles GM Elias confirms 1,000 seats to be removed. Here are renderings.

Wow - that's not insignificant. I'm assuming there's stats that prove that it was too easy to hit HRs to left there? I assume seats have to be removed and STHs (if there are any) relocated.
From the photos I've seen, it looks like 14 rows removed. It could be that a few rows may be removed only temporarily to protect them during construction but it could still be easily 10 rows permanently removed. 1,000 seats gone? It's been several years since there's been a capacity crowd, so not a big deal. OPACY was 8th overall in terms of seating, but many of the newer parks have several thousand less seats by design. STH have already been notified.
There are more HR friendly parks than Camden, but it's still above average, so analytics was a part of the decision. Some of that is due to lousy pitching and some may be due to that Hilton monstrosity that was built a block behind the park changing the air currents. I'd say it's much more of the former. The team leases the stadium so the Maryland Stadium Authority picks up the tab (from state lottery revenues). It's harder to find pre-Hilton 2008 images but here's one where you can still see the iconic Bromo Seltzer Arts tower beyond the light tower in LCF.

The LF wall at Camden Yards is being pushed back up to 30' and the new wall will be 12' high in some areas.

Since there's debate about whether the Ravens were an expansion team, consider that Modell tried to acquire the Colts name from the Irsays for $5M. The Irsays countered with $25M, so no deal was struck. Had he been successful, team historians, where would the Colts records from 1984-1994 belong? To the renamed Indianapolis team?
QuoteThe story doesn't end there, though. In 1997, there was some chatter that the Colts might move to Cleveland to become the new Browns. Indy was losing money and Cleveland was about to get a new stadium for its new team. If the franchise in Indy moved to Cleveland, the name "Colts" was presumably going to become available.

What is this a screen grab from?
I found the photo in a Richmond newspaper article https://richmond.com/sports/professional/did-the-washington-football-team-accidentally-tip-its-hand-on-what-the-new-name-is/article_86202619-d101-5e63-815e-0273dbe7c226.html
QuoteOn Tuesday, Washington shared that it will unveil its new name on 2/2/22, Feb. 2, on NBC's Today show.
The announcement was accompanied by a video from the team explaining what went into the process and what they want the new name to represent.
In one scene, team president Jason Wright is talking about potential options with coach Ron Rivera, but the papers in front of him are blurred out.
However, the team re-aired the video during Thursday's episode of its cable television program, "Washington Football Today," on NBC Sports Washington.
During that video, the paperwork was not blurred out, and a potential "Commanders" logo and seal can be clearly seen.

100% of twitter is debunking the leaks. But I'm optimistic, mainly because the images we are seeing don't completely suck.
I don't know about 100%, but there are some saying Washington is pulling off a clever misdirection. Others are saying, they aren't clever at all; it's the Commanders.

The announcement: "Ladies and gentleman Washington football is going commando".
It would be an opening for Ah-nuld to buy the team. Terminators would definitely be a trademark issue, but...

Washington Admirals? I beat the Dutch contigent would be pleased.
Well, if they left it up entirely to the public you'd get the football equivalent of Boaty McBoatface.
0r not. Washington was an Army General, so the whole Admiral thing doesn't work. Obviously not the Washington Generals either. Even if they weren't the Globetrotters perennial whipping boys, you have the USFL Generals.
I don't get why Wolves by itself is a trademark issue when you have the Minnesota Timberwolves.- 2

Yup. And I assume that roundel logo on the opposite side of the three stars hangar effect is just the logo they’ve been using the last two seasons. Pretty big let down if so, but this whole organization is a let down, soAgree, not that any of the other names are all that inspiring either. Safe bet this is on the back of the jersey.

Can't figure out how to post a tweet that's part of a thread without posting the parent, so sorry for the redundant post. But the second one links to an article about how any variation of Wolves won't be the name.
EDIT: They specifically say Wolves or a variation like Redwolves (one name) but they didn't say anything about a modified name like Red Wolves (two words). It would be stupid of them to say it's not Redwolves but then go with Red Wolves, but they kinda left the door open (Though based on the stars on the jersey, I think it's Commanders.)
Legal issues, i.e. the lawyers couldn't reach a trademark settlement amount that Snyder would pay. The DC flag has 3 stars, but it does also lend to a military name, which could also be Red Tails. I also think it'll be Commanders.
