  1. Can the Rockets now return to their original unique number font that was supposed to match their current wordmark? Tired of the Pacers number font. It never matched.
  2. It certainly helps now that a lot of the RWB color schemes are in the Eastern Conference.. There's Washington and Detroit and Philadelphia all in the East. Unfortunately for the Rockets, the Pelicans are in their own division and use Blue, Red and Gold including an alt red away and the Clippers use a lighter RWB color scheme. Primarily red with navy trim would be fine for the Rockets. ProjectThirtyFour's RWB modernized concepts were cool, but prefer making red primary
  3. The primary logo has to have city and team name. Or at least that was the rule when that new logo was made. Looking over the league, i think the Clippers are the only ones who don't have City name in their logo anymore. They do have LA in it, so perhaps they were able to get away with that since most people do call the city LA anyway.
  4. So something like this womans swingman? Would be very Houston Cougars like
  5. Anyone who doesn't think yellow/"desert gold" was never really a part of the Rockets identity did not live through the championship days. To me, they were perfect. They were that color scheme for what? 24 years? Those are still the real Houston Rockets to me. They haven't had an identity since Les Alexander took over the team. Les never even put "HOUSTON" on any of the primary uniforms. I suspect with the font tweak, Tilman will put "HOUSTON" on the primary red uniforms because he's a die hard Houston guy and that's why i had hope that he'd return us to the championship identity. Sadly, it seems he really likes our current identity. I do understand the retro look was a bit too classic and todays uniforms are a bit more modern for a team with a space theme, but the Rockets will always be Red/White with a minimal trim of yellow/gold to me. The 70s Calvin Murphy/Rudy T versions are a bit too much gold, but still looked great when Yao/T-mac wore them as throwbacks. PERCECT: They did look slightly goofy on Yao and T-Mac because they were really baggy and IIRC, everyone was wearing horrible yellow dominant shoes and black shoes. These uniforms need white or red shoes and accessories only to complete the aesthetic. Today they'd also be more fitted like the 80s Modernize the wordmark and numbers and throw on the 'R' logo on the thigh of the home shorts and the 'HR' alt logo or wordmark on the away shorts. I always found that unique to have the logo and wordmark on the shorts thigh like that. At this point though i'd even welcome back the RWB color scheme only because it matches with the other sports teams in Houston. Where they messed up(other than cartoon logos and pin stripes-but that was the late 90s) was making blue primary. Red should always be primary for the Rockets. Hakeem looked good in RWB too: Another thought: Yellow too bold and gold too bland to fit in with our current uniforms and logos? What about a really light gold like the new throwbacks being sold?
  6. I would imagine Toyota being the ad space with them playing in Toyota Center
  7. I get what you're saying, but i personally only like the idea of strictly red and yellow if the yellow is more of a true gold next to a nice rich and deep red such as these jordan jerseys: The yellow/mustard color is too much of an eye sore to be used heavily with red IMO.
  8. I'm personally not a fan of seeing too much of that mustard yellow. The 90s championship uniforms were perfect for me because they used the right balance, only using that color as a trim for the sleeves and nothing else other than on the logo at mid thigh for home which was another one of those very Rockets things(using the logo/wordmark on the shorts on the thigh).
  9. Wow. That looks horrible.
  10. Sixers, Bucks, Cavs, Clippers, Hawks, Nets, Nuggets, and Bullets were all pretty bad, though i suppose all acceptable except the Sixers. If the Sixers, Bucks, Hawks, Nuggets and Bullets/Wizards still had their 80's looks for that season, and Cavs+Nets in their 70's look, it would have been perfect. I'd take that look today with some rebrands for the Clippers, Thunder, Raptors, Grizzlies and scrap New Orleans and bring back the 90s Sonics. That's probably my ideal NBA. I'd let the Kings get an update, but i actually really like those 90s Mitch Richmond Kings pre Webber brand.
  11. It's going to be odd, but i can really see the Rockets wearing their black unis nearly every home and away game. There's not too many uniforms it won't contrast with at away games and i'm sure it's Harden and the players favorite jersey so it will be the fave to wear at home and no one to stop them from wearing it every single home game.
  12. Send in your concepts to the Rockets!
  13. The shorts cut looks so odd to the side like that. The grey arm sleeve outline looks off as well, would have been better to just remove it and keep just the cut off side panel. The wordmark looks bolder, but unfortunately the generic number font looks unchanged. Logo on the front of the shorts is new i think? Yeah, i don't see that lasting beyond this season. Full rebrand incoming with the eventual new ownership.
  14. So nothing's stopping the Warriors from choosing yellow as their home/association jersey from now on? They wanted to some years back, and the NBA wouldn't allow them to IIRC and now they're free to do as they please.
  15. Leslie Alexander has put the Rockets up for sale. Scared it will be a horrible new owner, but excited for a rebrand!
