  1. 2 unpopular football opinions: I don't mind monochrome I don't mind matte helmets It all depends on how its executed, which is why I try to stay away from sweeping generalizations.
  2. The only teams that would work for are ones who are matched with a very light jersey. It looks good there because both the Jays and Royals are wearing powder blue.
  3. While this certainly isn't a bad look, the Seahawks should stay away from it. The last thing the league needs is another silver helmet/blue jersey/silver pants team.
  4. I still maintain that its a couple slight tweaks and a new helmet away from being a really solid look.
  5. I agree with you here. It looks great for those teams. I think it has to do with the fact that their uniforms are modern yet still classy.
  6. I don't like Green Bay's road uniforms. Too much yellow, not enough green. The colour balance is really off. Also Is he wearing socks on his arms?
  7. Not really an unpopular opinion, their identity is great. I just wish they utilized the 'Sand' Colour more.
  8. That's not an unpopular opinion at all. Really? I'm constantly hearing about how the M's need to go back to the old blue and gold trident logo.
  9. I think the Mariners current look is superior to the old one in every way.
  10. I think the buffaslug is a thousand times better than the Crew logo.
  11. While I bore the Buffaslug no love, I didn't share the hate for it either. The jerseys were pretty gross though. As for Carolina, its not that the uniforms look bad, its the copycat thing that makes people hate it.
  12. Its not unpopular to like Chief Wahoo, just not politically correct.
  13. Replace the black drop shadows with a thin black outline and I agree. I can't stand the Niners' current look, black outlines really need to be a part of the Niners' look to me (because of the logo). They also need pants that at least try to match the helmet color. Ugh, it muddies up their scheme too much. The red and gold work beautifully together, throwing in black just makes it look gross. It doesn't need to be in there just because its in the logo. The Steelers don't need to add red and blue because its in their logo. I agree the black was completely unnecessary, and just junked up the whole look, but to me, the dark red was just as bad of a decision. How anybody could prefer it to the classic cherry red is beyond me. Then they really need to ditch the black in their logo. If it was just a thin black outline like the Vikings' logo, then okay. But it's jarring to see no hint of black in the uniforms and then BAM! Highly visible black on their logo. The Steelers logo is a different case, as the red and blue are minor elements of their logo. The Niners need to make black a minor element in their logo or ditch black in the logo altogether. And while cherry red and gold look good, cherry red, gold, and khaki do not. The better matching pants and fitting use of black is why I prefer the 90's look. If the Niners match their pants and fix their logo to reflect their look, I'll be fine with their current look. I really don't have a problem with the black in their logo considering its all border. Its even more of a minor element than the red and blue in Pittsburgh's scheme. Theres not much they can do to fix it if they want to keep that logo looking good, and its not a big issue. Its not like a uniform using colours nowhere to be found in the logo.

  15. And I think those uniforms are absolute garbage, and pale in comparison to what they wear now. The red-gold-white the niners use is perfectly balanced, well contrasted, just looks really good. Adding black just muddies up and ruins a fantastic color scheme. And the drop shadowed number and stripes looked awful.
  16. I think this is a great look And it would look even better without the drop shadow.
  17. I tend to give the Rags some leeway because it's almost become synonymous with their uniforms by this point and it doesn't look overdone like most other cases. It blends in just enough to fit with the rest of their identity. Its one of the reasons I really don't care for the Rangers uniforms. I don't care how long they've used it, I think it looks bad.
  18. I'm not sure how unpopular this is, but I hate drop shadowed numbers. I can't think of a single example of a uniform with drop shadowed numbers that wouldn't look better without it.
  19. I wouldn't call it a mess. These are a mess: I'm not a HUGE fan of the Falcons' uniforms, but objectively, they've probably used piping the best of any team in the league. I'm by no means a fan of the pats or their uniforms, but they're certainly better than the falcons. The red piping does look pretty unnecessary and disjointed, but it is rather subtle in comparison to the extraneous piping and patches that litter the falcons jerseys.
  20. I think the thing about the Islanders is that they've used that one logo for so long, its considered a classic, even though from a visual standpoint its not very good. Same deal with the Bulls.(Thats probably an unpopular opinion too.) It doesn't help that every time the Isles have tried to shake things up its been a disaster (Fishsticks logo, Current alt). The logo they have now is the tried and true standby. Is it a good logo? Not really, but its hard to imagine them with anything else across their chest. The current trend in sports uniform is all about going back to classic looks, so that plays a role as well.
  21. I agree they aren't that great, but going by your line of thinking the Giants, Eagles, Ravens, Raiders, Buccaneers and Saints also have terrible uniforms.
  22. I think the copperplate font actually looks good and works with the Golden State Warriors logo.
  23. Ok Rangers, Noted Hockey Expert Lights Out has spoken. Time to s***can 85 years of tradition! Why does someone else's opinion offend you so greatly? You know this is an 'unpopular' opinions thread right? Why did my post offend you so greatly? I mean ideally there wouldn't be discussion here, but I was responding to something Lights Out said in reference to a discussion that was happening. Fair game at that point. Had he just stated that opinion outright I would have left it alone. As to the larger point, the guy's made a habit of embracing contrarian opinions just so he can be "that guy." It grows tiresome. I'm not offended, I was just curious why someone would react with such anger and vitriol to an opinion he disagrees with in a thread clearly dedicated to unpopular opinions. So you're psychic and could tell how I was feeling when I posted? Cool. Seriously, I wasn't angry. More like annoyed. No, I could tell based on the condescending language and vitriol you were using that his opinion really aggravated you. Which is silly. Its his opinion. In an 'unpopular' opinions thread no less. Even if he was trying to be "that guy", letting someone elses tastes (on uniforms of all things) offend you is silly. Are you done? If you are.
