This is the best time of the year for fans of championship rings. By mid March MLS Cup Champions Seattle Sounders should be receiving their new rings. Jostens has been making some large interesting rings two out of the last 3 years with Tiffany still making under sized rings for LA Galaxy, just like their small SB ring for Seahawks. April 12 Cubs will be receiving WS ring 104 years in making, Jostens already selected and should be able to come up with a pretty good ring. April through June will be also be time for various CFB championship rings and given the almost 40 Bowl games, there will be plenty of rings issued this year also. And Finally around June 15th Patriots 5th SB ring will be unveiled. All previous Patriots SB rings were made by Jostens and they did not disappoint. Its hard to imagine they would not go with Jostens and lets see if they can beat their own 2014 SB ring which is the largest championship ring ever made. As far as heaviest championship ring, the record of 165 grams will remain with Cavaliers ring for years to come.

Mike, I am dying to know if Denver 50 ring is larger than Pats 2014 ring? I do think Pats ring is larger. So how about you use these measurements against Pats 2004 and Ravens 2013 rings, see which one is longer. And the largest super bowl ring ever made, the 2014 Patriots ring weighs......only 100 grams! That is according to Jostens who have let us hanging so far. I am sure Mike would make a great blog post about it on his site comparing the the heaviest rings so far. I do belive this last Patriots ring was 10K and previous ones were 14K. Looks like cheap Chinese replica ring. Jason of Beverly Hills should stick to making audacious jewelry for his hip hop clientele. Darren Rovell is reporting this is the most expensive championship ring ever? This ring is about 1/3 of Pats ring in size and has about 4 carats less diamond. Pats ring cost 36K/each, which I am pretty sure was very close to actual cost to Jostens. These rings I wouldn't pay $3500 for.

Mike you getting close to getting a new Pats SB ring? I can't wait till you get one man, I love to know how much that baby weighs and see pictures of your complete collection of Pats SB and AFC rings during Tom Brady era. I check out your blog everyday, keep hoping some day soon I will see pics of new Pats SB ring. BTW, I saw some pics on twitter of Pats none football operations staff rings, unlike 2003 and 2004 rings when staff rings were different design, this time around staff rings look identical to players ring. Of course some maybe none gold and fake diamonds. Anyhow, BOL getting a Pats ring soon.

Its exciting to have Jason of Beverly HIlls do the NBA rings. I have to tell you, Jostens and Tiffany have been mailing it in with their recent SB rings, it great to see new designed rings. Having said that about Jostens, I really like the 2 blackhawks rings they made, cant wait to see the new one.

Guys remember some times back pro football HOF produced pretty good looking new rings via Kay Jewelers? Every player will receive new rings, wife of deceased players get pendents. Classy act. Ring look real sharp and are pretty good size.

Hey Mike great find on pics. I dont know for sure, but I think it had something to do with annual Jimmy Fund fundraiser which was hosted yesterday and today by WEEI and NESN in Boston. They had a panel earlier today which included owners of all 5 major franchises in Boston (Pats, Sox, Bruins, Celtics and of course NE Revolutions). They usually have players and staff visit with families, patients, perhaps that's why all the rings were in the same place (guess no one told owners of Celtics to bring his)...that still does not justify the Pats ring box ...... ( I think Celtics ring was made by collaboration between Balfour and Intergold which was bought by Jostens) Charlie Jacobs (Boston Bruins), Jonathan Kraft (New England Patriots, Revolution), Wyc Grousbeck (Boston Celtics) and John Henry (Boston Red Sox)

Mike I am posting your pictures to show the size of Pats new ring. The 2004 appears to be the same size of Steelers and Ravens ring, so the new ring looks both taller and wider. I think the reason Jostens did not list the weight is that just like Ravens rings they are using different grams of gold for different ring size. The Ravens rings which came up for sale are listed as 80-82 grams for size 10-10.5 and size 15-15.5 rings are 92-94 grams. I think just like carats of diamonds are now different on each Pats rings so are the grams. At the very minimum size 10 rings should be about 105-110 grams and size 15 most likely upwards of 125 grams. I cant wait till you get one of these rings Mike and post all the details. Espn reported Kraft paid 5.47M for 150 rings, avg ring cost of $36,000.00, most expensive SB rings so far. I cant imagine Jostens made any money on those, for 4.7 carats of diamonds and 100+ grams of 10 K gold, 36K is very reasonable.
