  1. Everton and Aston Villa of all sides sitting above a pile of rubble... this is going to be a fun season. We’ve seen both city and Liverpool melt down and none of the top six seem very stable at the moment.
  2. Oh Man U... one step forward, two steps back. Quick reminder Harry Maguire is currently the most expensive defender of all time.
  3. Is it too early to say back-to-back trebles?
  4. If the FIFA scandal of a few years ago couldn’t take the World Cup away from Qatar I can’t see anything (aside from Covid-19) taking it away at this point.
  5. No they get off on backside bribes and deals that net them millions in personal gain to go against the greater good.
  6. About the 404... I've been getting the exact same thing. I've only tried it on mobile, so that might be my problem.
  7. The U.S. doesn't need Canada. We would have it already if FIFA didn't like shiny new stadiums (or plans for them) and technology that doesn't exist.
  8. I've found that if you want to see who said what click the x below the like button (on computer) it will show you who said the quote. Also, all you have to do is click the button you don't have to ignore anyone's signature.
  9. Just because the thread is pointless doesn't mean you have to say pointless things.
  10. Swap Philly and Atlanta, Atlanta is more isolated and doesn't have any real rivalries/history. Sixers are on the coast and have a history with the Knicks and Celtics.
  11. Contracted NBA (minus Charlotte, Memphis, Minnesota, New Orleans, Orlando, and Toronto) Atlantic Division: Boston Celtics Brooklyn Nets Miami Heat New York Knicks Philadelphia 76ers Washington Wizards Central Division: Atlanta Hawks Chicago Bulls Cleveland Cavaliers Detroit Pistons Indiana Pacers Milwaukee Bucks Pacific Division: Los Angeles Clippers Los Angeles Lakers Phoenix Suns Portland Trail Blazers Sacramento Kings San Francisco Warriors Southwest Division: Dallas Mavericks Denver Nuggets Houston Rockets Oklahoma City Thunder San Antonio Spurs Utah Jazz 66 game season -4 games versus each divisional opponent (2 home, 2 away) 20 games. -2 games versus all teams outside of your division (home, away) 36 games. -2 additional games versus 5 random opponents outside of your division (home, away) 10 games. 8-team Playoffs, dropped conference alignment, guaranteed spot for any division winner but can be any seed. Reduces over-saturation of player pool and pulls plug on some of the more financially-troubled teams in the league, none have any championships or have existed before the NBA-ABA merger. Those contracted teams could serve as expansion for the D-League, a place where no one cares about player quality.
  12. This started happening to me too a lot longer ago, maybe like 4-5 months. I would usually just link an audio video in the what are you listening to thread, but it just puts links and it bugged me so I wouldn't post it.
  13. You're missing quite a few. How about 3-0 in '98? or 2-0 in '02? Go back much further and you'll see the shackles off. In 20 World Cup Finals, a total of 71 goals have been scored, divide that by 20 games, and you get an average of 3.55 goals per game. Far from the 0-0 bore that "most" World Cup Finals are, which has only happened once in 20 games. Once. Please at least do you research before trying to trash soccer as a whole.
  14. Aren't a lot of South Africa's stadiums vacant as well?
  15. I get what you guys are talking about. I got a new computer around Christmas and the ad-bombs were popping up, I'd get 3-5 ads all over the screen and tabs were flying up when I loaded one page. It went away after about 2 weeks. Then I hop on about 2-3 days ago and it starts up again. It's safe on my phone, so waiting it out is probably the best play.
  16. As they should, Idaho is in the Big Sky for everything else, so dropping down would make a lot of sense. They would have pretty high travel costs if they were to play in any other league than the MWC, and they're probably not going to take them.
  17. Redskins - Pretty much the "local team" and the team my family roots for, so hey why not? Even if they do have an idiot owner and have a bad team. Wizards - Pretty much same as the Redskins minus the whole family part. I can't attest to watching every single Wizards game, but if it's during the regular season I may watch a few very intently and just leave most games on in the background. I will watch all the playoff games though. Orioles - I only like the Orioles because they were the "team" around here until the Nationals moved, and they contain my very early memories of Baseball. It helps that they were also my Little League team when I played. Nationals - Blah, blah, local team bits. Richmond Flying Squirrels - One of the only teams in town, so I have to tip my hat to them. Capitals - I don't watch Hockey, but if I had a gun to my head and had to pick a team, they'd be it. Virginia Tech - It's the college my whole Dad's side of the family and my brother have attended, and it's the college I hope to go to. I've been to a million football games and the atmosphere is just awesome. Especially on Thursday nights. Beautiful campus too. James Madison - Most of my mother's side of the family went there, I don't watch any of their games. But I'll casually root for them. DC United - The high-level local MLS club no once cares about. Woot. I'll maybe watch a few games per regular season, but I keep good tabs on them. Richmond Kickers - I never watch them, but they're the team to ditch the NoVa'ers with. USMNT - I'll watch any FIFA World Cup Games or qualifiers. Nothing like supporting your country. England/French/German/Italian/Scottish/Irish National Teams - This will sound weird, but after the US, I'll support the ethnic countries my family are from, so yeah that's a lot. I like to have a dog in UEFA Euro or the World Cup. Everton - FC It's always a weird connection when you support an EPL team, but Tim Howard is the main reason I like Everton. So, their my team.
  18. Building on that, I think the Pro Combat script from a few years ago is even better than the current one.
  19. I understand that. It's why I went in and removed all discussion re: the gun control debate. It started before we even knew the identity of the shooter, much less how he obtained the firearm. I didn't want rampant uninformed speculation to turn into an argument that would eclipse the the actual events taking place. We do try to keep things on topic and nip problems that can derail a story and legitimate line of discussion in the bud when we think our involvement is needed. I agree entirely. And I see no reason why we cannot honour his sacrifice as a community in the thread dedicated to the tragedy in which he lost his life. As Mockba stated, we're tasked by the administration with the smooth running of the boards. That includes merging threads dedicated to the same topic. And Cpl. Cirillo's sacrifice fit the purview of an existing topic. Your post wasn't deleted or altered in any way. It was simply moved to an established thread where the majority of the user base would be looking for information regarding Ottawa shootings. Information that includes anything on the arrangements for, and honouring of, Cpl. Cirillo. I understand that there is a knee-jerk reaction to seeing a topic you started suddenly gone with no explanation. A quick check in the Ottawa shootings thread would have cleared up what happened. Again, nothing was deleted or edited. Just moved for the sake of keeping the board running smoothly with as few duplicate threads as possible. Actually that was the first place I looked was in the Ottawa Parliament Shootings thread and noticed buried. Yes I know it was not altered or deleted but that is not the point. Thanks Ice_Cap for the cleanup of that thread. And for all the naysayers, maybe you would act the same way if you truly felt like I do with the death of Nathan Cirillo and trying to show a little humility and honor to him through a independent thread based on his funeral procession. Because here in Canada this doesn't happen much, losing a military member. We have a small military (55,000 total) and whenever we lose someone through killed in action (Afghanistan), suicides and now this act of cowardice (including Warrant Officer Vincent by a hit and run last weekend). But maybe down in the States everyone is so numb and oblivious to when it happens to your military members that it doesn't register anymore. But that is not my concern, my concern was wanting to tell people of the touching event of Friday. And I give two :censored:s about ram80's views. Both ram80 and CS85 have now repeatably hijacked my thread posts (in numerous threads now pushing their own childish views. ram80 was already warned twice on this matter and to stop posting in threads that does not interest him just to start an argument. But as you can see the warning means on here. Same goes with CS85. All the warnings in the world will not change these bullies attitudes. I'm sure the swine will be punished for his intolerant views.
  20. No the two likeliest candidates entail looting the Big East or convincing some ACC teams to bail as per history. Texas and Oklahoma were kind of sick and tired of the odd loss in the Big XII championship game biting them in the rear. I'm trying not to respond like a jerk here... but I can't tell if you are intentionally being difficult with this scenario or just ignoring the scenario completely. The schools in contention were Utah State, Colorado State, and Brigham Young to be added to the PAC-10 and Big XII to bring their total number of schools to 12. And I'm saying, as someone who followed those realignment rounds very closely, Utah State and Colorado State were not on anybody's radar. Much of this was because of football considerations, as well as markets and intra-state politics. Colorado State kind of collapsed in the late 2000s/early 2010s, and Utah State flat out sucked before Gary Andersen could get stuff working there beginning in 2011. Please note the Mountain West only grabbed Utah State, despite the loss of both Utah schools, when it did its killshot raid on the WAC, not the first crippling raid. BYU sort of was on the radar for the Big XII, but the "won't play on the Sabbath" thing and Texas and Oklahoma's dissatisfaction with the championship game format precluded that. The only reason I leaned toward Utah and Utah State to the PAC and Colorado and Colorado State to the XII is how their Conferences are already aligned. The PAC as both Washington, Oregon, and Arizona schools, as well as 4 California schools. It almost would seem off to add Colorado State in favor of Utah State or Brigham Young. Same goes for the XII. They have both Kansas schools, both Oklahoma, and at the time, had 4 Texas schools. Again, seemed off to add a Utah school in favor of Colorado State. Not adding schools where you already have a state-presence makes more sense to me when we talk about the B1G and the SEC. But it seems like the PAC-10 and Big XII were more interested in regional expansion as opposed to expanding the foot print. Did you even read rams80's post?
  21. I prefer the Nike Flywire collars to the old ones, and I'm not referring to the toilet-seat ones, which it's also "better than".
  22. Being a member in an active fantasy league would be a start.
  23. I am the opposite, I think matte black works for the Jags more than gold would. Yeah, I think I'd prefer that over that "gold" crap. A glossy black would be even better.
  24. Yes, but you won't get accepted if you act like an a$$ (as I found out).
  25. At 500 you can change your member title and apply for a fantasy league if you've been a member for over 6 months.
