Come to think of it, I'm curious which font is the closest to the following wordmarks:
a.)
b.)
c.)
d.)
Any ideas?
-
Fairly certain it's Equine.
Thanks. I knew it looked something a bit familiar (like the old Miss. State wordmark font on their football jerseys from 1996 to 2003).
-
@officeglenn - To me, it looks like a variation of Kenyan Coffee (medium weight).
Anyways, I'm curious on which font is used on the "Material Monikers" name.
-
What font Nuggets use on wordmark and numbers?
Looks like a modified custom variation of Impact or Compacta Bold condensed, plus the serifs.

(I posted this in another thread)...
The CFL needs more teams because fans can't take seriously such a small league.
Sure the Grey Cup is a fun national pride event... yet when they keep telling me 'the real season starts Labour Day' then why should I care for the previous 3 months?? Don't get me wrong, I love that the CFL plays all summer & ends in winter, it's cool.
I just don't get excited for the playoffs, which we should be, when 6 of 9 teams qualify.
I want at least 12 teams in the CFL.
I agree with you on that one. And I'm not from Canada. But in order for the CFL to have more than 12 teams or upto 12 as the max, I bet the league itself needs to do too much scouting on cities with legit football stadiums, plus the money investments and the fan support.
-
CFL East
Halifax
Hamilton
Ottawa
Montreal
Quebec City
Toronto
CFL West
BC
Calgary
Edmonton
Saskatchewan
Victoria
Winnipeg
I second that. Either this prediction or something similar MUST happen someday.
Let's be honest. That way, there will be a great well-balanced schedule for all teams; when one team faces its other 5 division rivals twice (home & road), and faces the other 6 non-division teams once (3 home & 3 away, with home-and-home series alternating every 2 years) for a total of 16 games instead of 18 or even 22.
For the playoffs, instead of 6 spots, it should be 8 (2 division semifinals & 1 division finals per division). That way, there won't be any crossover divisional matches. Just pure East vs. West finals/series to dispute for the Grey Cup in every single season, as the way it should be.

Thanks. But it's customly expanded in length and height from its original size. However, it counts.

Anyone know what font this is? Where it says Home Opener?
To 'Home Opener' specifically, looks like Armada Black or Extra Bold. The rest of the writings (except the "United in Red" one) is also Armada, from Light to Regular to Bold.
Mucho thanx!
You're welcome. Anyways, I bet you're curious of which font is close to the one in "United in Red" too, because so am I.

Hi Jlog3000!
I think it is important to note that major junior is a bit of a different beast than the pros. Major junior players are high school and college age. I actually shared high school classes with a couple of former Sudbury Wolves players. (Kevin Beech and Adam McQuaid)
What I think we need to understand about the CHL is that many of these players often don't make hockey a paid career, and some have little to fall back on once that career is over. As well as I would like to see their weekly stipend increase (to where they could either afford a full college scholarship or earn a modest living), I would like to see the schedule reduced, personally. Using my model, instead of the 38 divisional games I listed earlier, knock it down to 30 (8+8+7+7), and keep the rest of the schedule at 30 as well, for a total of 60 regular season games. Keep the schedule to 2 or 3 games a week, largely on weekends, as they try to do now, and bump up the ticket prices to compensate if the team owners are really worried about gate revenue.
If you wanted less games, then all I would tweak on my model is the 'division play' one of having each team facing the other 4 teams 6 times (3 home & 3 road each), then add the rest, giving the total of 64 games.

I have always had a problem with the OHL separating Sudbury from the Soo. I believe that the northern teams should all play together. I also made border crossings less frequent for Erie by removing them from a division with 4 Canadian opponents to the other one with US teams Flint and Saginaw.
This chart represents divisional play. In order to minimize road trip distance, 38 divisional games would be played (I know this still screws the Northern Ontario teams, but what alignment wouldn't?), and 30 games would be played out of division - probably 3 road trips of 5 games each and 3 home stands.
Your format looks pretty cool and interesting. Oh, speaking of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), I have a curious but well-modified and proposed/suggested schedule format of the OHL so that every team can compete in a perfectly well-balanced way. And since there are 2 equal conferences of 10 teams (with 2 equal divisions of 5 teams each), here goes the following:
Schedule Format (72 total games):
a.) Conference play; Division play; Each team will play its other division rivals eight times – four home, four away – for a total of 32 Division games (4 * 8 = 32).
b.) Conference play; Out-of-Division play: Each team will play the five teams from the other division four times – two home, two away – for a total of 20 Out-of-Division games (5 * 4 = 20).
c.) Out-of-Conference play: Each team will play all 10 teams from the other conference twice – one home, one away – for a total of 20 Out-of-Conference games (10 * 2 = 20).
Lemme know your opinions and thoughts about this. And hopefully it would be applied for the upcoming future seasons and many more years to come.

Looks pretty close to it. I guess that most numbers are modified. But thanks anyways.
Thanks for the link. Which reminds me, which font is close to the NHL Avalanche numbers? Like this sample photo:
-
Eric jaffe (sp)had a font pack with the Ravens numbers you're looking for
Really, where can I find it? Because I tried Googling it over & over, but it appears to be known as "NFL Ravens" and not the one that's close to it with its original name.
-
I know it's the Baltimore Ravens number font in this photo. However, for curious general purposes, which font(s) might be similar to the Ravens' font numbers?
-
What's even the difference between those two? Thanks so much guys!Anyone know if this font has a name?
Federation Classic
Good guess. But my alternate guess for it was the Final Frontier Old Style variation.
For instance, on the Federation Classic version, the "V" looks different from the Final Frontier Old Style version.

What a coincidence. That's nearly the same font used for this following photo:
Emphasis on the words 'Kola Champagne'.
-
@buzzcut - What does the 'WFF' stand for? Might I ask.
-
Anybody know the number font on Auburn's unis?
The numbers nearly does look like a sans-serif variation of Cooperplate Gothic Bold. But another one close to that is ITC Blair Bold, if I'm not mistaken.
-
Could anybody help me out with this?
Looks like Colles or Armada
I agree with walkerws. Looks like a modified bold version of Armada in my mind, due to its weight and thickness. But it looks pretty cool though.

Here's a silly realignment idea based on a pro basketball league called the 'Liga de Baloncesto Superior Nacional' (or 'National Superior Basketball League' in English). That's how some of current Puerto Rican greats like Carlos Arroyo & J.J. Barea came from before heading to the NBA. So far, it consists of 12 teams, but has like a total of 20 to 30 teams history-wise (most of them either being dormant or no longer active). But anyways, here's the current 2015 league list of teams competing:
Capitanes de Arecibo
Vaqueros de Bayamón
Maratonistas de Coamo
Brujos de Guayama
Mets de Guaynabo
Caciques de Humacao
Atenienses de Manati
Indios de Mayagüez
Leones de Ponce
Piratas de Quebradillas
Atléticos de San Germán
Cangrejeros de Santurce
Then there are a dozen of many other past teams within the league's history such as the following:
Polluelos de Aibonito
Conquistadores de Aguada
Tiburones de Aguadilla
Taínos de Cabo Rojo
Criollos de Caguas
Indios de Canóvanas
Gigantes de Carolina
Toritos de Cayey
Cariduros de Fajardo
Gallitos de Isabela
Titanes de Morovis
Ganduleros de Villalba
Suddenly, by mixing both parts, I would create a super-like BSN league with at least 24 teams, divided in 2 conferences (with 2 divisions each).
1.) BSN Atlantic Conference
1.1.) BSN Atlantic - North Division
Capitanes de Arecibo
Vaqueros de Bayamón
Mets de Guaynabo
Atenienses de Manati
Titanes de Morovis
Cangrejeros de Santurce
1.2.) BSN Atlantic - West Division
Conquistadores de Aguada
Tiburones de Aguadilla
Taínos de Cabo Rojo
Gallitos de Isabela
Piratas de Quebradillas
Indios de Mayagüez
2.) BSN Caribbean Conference
2.1.) BSN Caribbean - East Division
Criollos de Caguas
Indios de Canóvanas
Gigantes de Carolina
Toritos de Cayey
Cariduros de Fajardo
Caciques de Humacao
2.2.) BSN Caribbean - South Division
Polluelos de Aibonito
Maratonistas de Coamo
Brujos de Guayama
Leones de Ponce
Ganduleros de Villalba
Atléticos de San Germán
Any thoughts guys? Oh, to know more about this sports league, check out its website at http://bsnpr.com

I know for a fact that Conrad has the LA Kings font on his site in the NHL pack. I assume that the Sharks font will also be in there as well.
I know that too. But I said 'any fonts close to' because I know they are custom fonts. I just wanna know if there are any fonts close to them.
-
Can anyone help me find which fonts are close to the ones that I'm about to attach?
a.) San Jose Sharks early 2000's
b.) LA Kings early 2000's
P.S.: Just wanna let you all know, it's the number fonts I'm curious about, not the letters for now.
Name That Font!

Looks very close to TTC Machine, but I guess it might be a heavily modified condensed/extended variation plus the pointy serifs though. I might be wrong though.
