Looking at that top jersey, monochrome navy with racing stripes could be pretty cool.

It's a odd question, because most teams' road uniforms are just a gray version of their home set, usually with a different wordmark, so it really comes down to whether you find a white or gray uniform more appealing.

That's actually not what I have planned for New York. You'll have to just wait and see. Up next are the reigning World Series champions! TEXAS RANGERS HOME: ROAD: HOME ALT: ROAD ALT: CITY CONNECT: Notes: - I ditched Texas’ powder blue set (oddly used by the team as a home alternate) in order to make room for a new red alt which uses the home script. As a compromise, I gave the road a slight blue tint. - The color balance on the home uniforms reverts to the current set’s 2020 debut. My idea would be for the Rangers to be a primarily red team at home and primarily blue on the road. - My City Connect design is one I previously shared in my City Connects tweaks thread, based on suggestions from @VampyrRabbit. Changes include switching to a sleeveless jersey, flipping the placement of the “TX” and front numbers and adding a headspoon. C&C appreciated as always!

I'm biased, but I love the current White Sox road unis. Of course, they were better when they had the dual thick pant stripes as seen below:

I like the '83s too, but it's so typical of the White Sox organization to celebrate mediocrity. The '83 team not only did not win a championship, they didn't even reach the World Series. It was fine when they brought those uniforms back for the 30th anniversary in 2013 but to continue to wear them for another ten seasons was overkill. If the Sox wants to honor an historical team more worthy of celebrating (and who also had great uniforms), then make the 1917 throwbacks the new Sunday home alt:

I’m surprised MLB hasn’t announced the 2024 City Connect schedule yet. I’m pretty sure last year’s schedule was released a few days before Opening Day 2023.

Happy Opening Day! This is a series over a year in the making. When Nike’s 4+ 1 rule went into effect prior to the 2023 season, it got me thinking: Taken to its logical extreme, what if Nike not only limited each team to four jerseys, but mandated that number? What would it look like if teams who have historically refrained from wearing alternates, such as the Yankees, Dodgers and Tigers, suddenly had two each? Now, I want to make it clear that I in no way condone such an idea. This is simply a creative exercise to imagine what it would look like if all 30 MLB teams had five uniform options. The truth is the majority of the league isn’t actually impacted by the 4+ 1 rule. As such, I’ll be leaving those teams alone. I will, however, be using this series as an opportunity to fix some things that have always bugged me about a few teams’ looks; no major redesigns, just some tweaks here and there. I also want to avoid teams having multiple jerseys of the same color (which includes their City Connect), which, in some cases, will demand some outside the box solutions. Side note: Even though I really wanted to launch this series on Opening Day, this project will roll out a bit slower than my previous series, as I'll be waiting on the remaining nine City Connects slated for this season to be unveiled before I tackle those teams. PITTSBURGH PIRATES: HOME: ROAD: HOME ALT: ROAD ALT: CITY CONNECT: Notes: - Pittsburgh gets a new off-white, sleeveless home set that harkens back to the team’s late ‘50s-60 look. The road and road alt are now sleeveless, as well. - As mentioned in my introduction, I wanted to avoid teams having multiple jerseys of the same color, so the Bucs' current black-on-black alternate is replaced with a new early-mid ‘70s pullover style home alt. - I simplified the design of the road alt by dropping the strokes around the “P” and numbers. - The City Connect uses the scrapped "Steel City" wordmark and anthracite color suggested by @GriffinM6. C&C appreciated! I'll have another team up soon. -
I really dig that Brewers jersey. I wish the Crew had a regular season alternate with the BiG logo on it.

As of this year, all Spring Training-specific jerseys, with the exception of the Yankees and Tigers, have been retired per Nike, so any jersey not previously worn during the regular season is now designated as an “alternate” in the 2024 Style Guide. This applies to the Dodgers’ blue jerseys, the Reds’ Mr. Redlegs jersey, and I’m not sure who else.

The Phils' current uniform rotation is their home pinstripes, road grays, powder blue throwbacks and cream Sunday home alts, and so, because of Nike's 4+ 1 rule, the red jerseys became the odd man out.

I definitely get the Twins comparisons. As great as Minnesota's new set is, this almost makes me wish the Twins had included a little pop of powder blue the way these do.

HOUSTON COLTS (est. 1962) HOME: ROAD: HOME ALT: ROAD ALT: Notes: - It’s safe to say a team named after a firearm wouldn’t fly in today’s political climate, so the Colt .45’s become just the “Colts.” - The Denver Broncos’ logo came in handy here, and it’s especially helpful that the basic shape of the horse logo is pretty similar to the gun design from those original Houston home jerseys. And with that, I think I can finally say with no uncertainty that this series is finally finished. Thanks again for following along!

SEATTLE PILOTS (1969) HOME: ROAD: HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - My latest Reverse Relocations concept inspired me to add the Pilots to this series, imagining what they'd look like today had they never skipped town for Milwaukee after just one season. - For the wordmarks, numbers and cap logo, I found that The Story So Near font nicely resembles a mix of the Pilots' home and road wordmarks. - The alternate makes use of the angular "Seattle" script from a prototype Pilots jersey, (mostly) recreated by the great Todd Radom. C&C appreciated! I actually have one more team planned, which I hope to have up in the next few days.

Nice job! This certainly would've been a more interesting direction for the rebrand than just keeping the Indians' navy and red. A few nitpicks/suggestions: - Try adding a gold stroke around the letters on the road jersey. - For the navy alt, I'd go with a wine-colored script trimmed in gold. - I don't think you need four different cap options. I'd pick two and just roll with those. My personal choice would be the one with the home white & the road gray. -

Thanks! What if the Milwaukee Brewers became the Seattle Pilots? MILWAUKEE BREWERS (1969) HOME: ROAD: Notes: - I wasn't planning on tackling the Brewers/Pilots, given the Pilots only lasted one season. However, since @Coiler asked, I felt it was only right to include them. - The home set is based on Seattle's home uniforms, with a beer barrel and tiny "BREWERS" wordmark on the left breast and wheat stalk-styled sleeve stripes. - Seeing as those original Brewers' unis were essentially Pilots hand-me-downs, I figured Milwaukee would've had a slightly different look had they predated the Pilots. The Tuscan-style wordmarks and numbers are thus based on these Brewers prototype unis from 1970. SEATTLE PILOTS (2024) HOME: ROAD: HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - The modern day Pilots' are based heavily on the Brewers, with home pinstripes and a gold-front paneled road cap. - I was tempted to go navy and teal (presupposing that the Pilots, like the Mariners, would eventually ditch their original blue and gold in favor of the M's' current colors) but ultimately decided against it, as I was dead-set on keeping Seattle's captain's sleeve stripes, which don't work in any color but gold. The captain's stripes also carry over to the sock design. - The alt features a new "Seattle" script and Washington state sleeve patch, a la the Wisconsin patch on the Brew Crew's alternate jersey. And that should do it! C&C appreciated as always, and thanks to everyone who followed along!

I actually hadn't planned on doing that one, but you just gave me an idea for what I can do. Watch this space. What if the Kansas City Athletics moved to Philadelphia? KANSAS CITY ATHLETICS (1921) HOME: ROAD: Notes: - A touch of red is added to the Philadelphia A's royal blue to create a look similar to the Kansas City Monarchs. - Both jerseys feature the A's primary logo on the front. PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS (2024) HOME: ROAD: HOME ALT: ROAD ALT: Notes: - My modern-day Philadelphia A's swap out Oakland's green and gold for the blue and gold of the Philadelphia flag, which are seemingly the same colors as the Phillies' upcoming City Connect uniforms. - The road jersey repurposes the block "PHILA" wordmark used by the Sixers. Oakland's early-mid '80s A's unis featured a similar arched block wordmark. - An Old English style Philly "P" is used for the road cap logo. C&C appreciated!

There’s an interesting implication to this in that several teams still wear ST jerseys that are never worn during the regular season, such as the Reds’ red jersey with Mr. Redlegs and the Dodgers’ blue jerseys, which seems to imply those jerseys may now be worn during regular season games. Are there any others that I missed?

I honestly couldn't disagree more. Yes, ads suck but they're (at least currently) a detail confined to just one part of the jersey and could technically go completely unnoticed from certain angles. With these new uniforms, the whole thing looks like cheap garbage.

MINNESOTA TWINS (1912) HOME: ROAD: Notes: - Minnesota's uniforms are pretty straightforward off-white and gray versions of one another. - I wanted another solid-colored placket design in this series, and the early 1900s Twins, inspired by the 1910s Senators, presented the perfect opportunity to do so. - The cap and jerseys feature a reimagining of the Twins' classic "TC" logo with interlocking Old English-style letters. WASHINGTON SENATORS (2024) HOME: ROAD: HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - It turns out @MJD7 and I were on very similar wavelengths when I was working on this project and he was simultaneously working on his MLB Multiverse series, as we ended up producing nearly identical concepts for a modern day Washington Senators set based on the Twins' new look. - There are a few small differences from Matt's design, including the striping colors and cap logo. I was also conscious of avoiding letting this set to look too much like my previous Rangers-to-Washington concept, which is one reason why I went with off-white home unis over white. C&C appreciated! I currently have just one team left planned, but please let me know if I managed to miss any.
