Not exactly on topic, but this thread just reminded me of the fact that every time I go back and play NCAA Football 14, I wonder how they'd be able to keep up with all the new uniforms in the current climate of college football (if they ever get to make another college football video game). I ended up buying every uniform pack for that game, even though they were sorta overpriced for how few uniforms you got, and I wouldn't want to repeat that in the future.

Congrats on the EIU contribution, ren. Must feel great to have your work in their official visual history now.

I can't believe I just found this out, because I'm a fan of Kerouac, especially his haiku, but apparently he was big into fantasy sports all the way back in the 50s-60s. And the Kerouac archive at the Berg Collection of the New York Public Library held an exhibit of a bunch of documents from his archive in 2007-08, including some of his work for a fantasy baseball league he created as well as a fantasy horse racing circuit.
I'd love to see someone take a swing (sorry) at a concept series for his fantasy baseball league. From what I gathered from that slideshow I linked to, it seems like there were 8 teams in a given season (o, the pre-expansion era), including the 6 pictured here:
the Buicks, La Salles, and Nashes:
as well as the unpictured (but mentioned) Boston Grays and Cincinnati Blacks.

Sorry if someone's mentioned this already, but I'd really like to see someone redesign the Gibraltar Leagues (which is fun to play in Football Manager, so much so that fans have traditionally supported that mod, which recently became official). Starting with the 2015-16 season, the Gibraltar Premier Division has 10 teams, while the Gibraltar Second Division has 14 (both are playable in that FM mod).

This might be a sort of easy request, but can anyone update the logo on this helmet that University of the Pacific used in the mid-80s?
I know that pic doesn't give you much to go on, but my hunch is that it's a recolored, tilted version of Clemson's outlined logo, made in 1976:
(My hunch is corroborated by Pacific having their own version of this vintage tiger head logo, naming it Tommy Tiger, as seen in the bottom left:)

Can anyone identify the font used for University of the Pacific's last helmet logo?
And bonus points if you can identify the font used for the wordmark logo they used for the two helmets before that one (or who they stole it from, if that's the case):

When it comes to the Bears/Packers/49ers/Vikings/Dolphins I don't really care. But I agree that the Mariners get a lot of love for a not very interesting identity (that pic of them in their all-white is probably their best look though; I would've gone with a pic of them in teal to make the point)

Am I allowed to say that I think MLB and NHL uniforms are very overrated? MLB bores me and there's just not anything clicking in me that says the NHL's big & tall section clothes and mish-mash of design elements to try and fill up all that space looks good. This may be as much a critique of what those two leagues (have to?) wear

Ran across this primary logo for the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors after seeing that crazy name mentioned in the Hartford Whalers relocation article today:
It looks improbably vintage for something from 1990-92, but I sorta love it in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way. It almost calls to mind Detroit as the cyberpunk dystopia everyone thought it would be in the Robocop days. Anyone up for updating it so it's actually legible?

ren would have done a better job of recreating that logo, imo.
I just checked Doyle524's index, and it looks as though ren already did:

Did anyone else think of this thread first thing after seeing the BYU modernized retro logo news?

Inspired by the recent CCSLC Tweet as well as being something I'd seen before and loved as a 60s illustration but wondered how it could work as a logo, I'd be interested if anyone could update this:
-
He meant, the actual prototype logo with the moon and all.
Yeah

Hi, I was referred here because I was looking for any higher quality image of solely the logo from this (Coyotes prototype) uniform:
Could I make a request for an updated version of this logo by itself?

I like it when the same teams enjoy success, I also hate all mid-majors in college basketball(examples: Butler, VCU, FGCU, George Mason).
This has been the only confession that made me laugh out loud in disbelief so far

I like the new Jags gradient helmet, although I think the idea could be slightly better implemented with a brighter gold.
(and it's not just because this guy, who is from my class of my university, wears it)Also, in general I like the Turn Ahead the Clock shirts.
(I'm a fan of asymmetry, minimal elements, and big logos)

They could go full-time with that logo identity
(Save the mis-matching shirt/pants for this sort of one-off alt, though)
