Over/under 0.5 of these will be an actual upgrade?
I'll say that I am cautiously optimistic the Lions will be an upgrade because it will be a Browns-style return to the Barry Sanders-era uniforms, but I bet the other 2 are clear downgrades.

I get that this is a ridiculously elitist take, but the general trend among fans, players, and increasingly more teams toward preferring monochrome uniforms instead of traditional balanced uniforms is because most people have sh** taste and are morons.

Would have preferred to see the Panthers break that look out against basically any other team.

Bucs in pewter alts vs. Colts in blue homes is a very jarring color-vs-color game.
-
Maybe it is just a lifetime of seeing white helmets paired with white sweaters, but I find the colored helmets to be visually jarring a very unpleasant way.

The way the lettering stretches the sweater (and it's not just these pics, it's like this in all the unveiling videos even when the sweaters are hanging loosely) looks extremely cheap.

Sinking feeling the Bears are wearing orange this week.
No evidence. Just a hunch.

I have no input on the width of the Rams' stripe, but just want to say that it's nice seeing this particular simple two-color stripe design, which has always felt very 1980s to me, on both teams in this pic. It is nearly extinct.

Hoooo boy these are going to SUCK
QuoteThe four uniform combos will be quite different than each other, not just switching out pants and jerseys and helmets. One will be timeless, traditional. Another will be traditional but modernized. One will get wild with the bull theme. One will have the H-Town blue tribute. One was taken from player feedback and be very mean and tough looking.

Is this it for new NFL uniform elements this year? Or do we have evidence that another alternate helmet, etc. is still coming?

"Icy white" is approaching the same level of crap as BFBS at this point

The Steelers have tweeted basically that same thing before and it was not a tease for a uniform then, so I don't know why it would be a tease for a uniform now.

Fans in Canada and the men's team players were rightfully pissed off that they played in the World Cup and couldn't get anything more than an off-the-shelf template kit from Nike, and now Nike turns around and gives them this garbage??
This is maybe the ugliest thing ever worn by athletes representing Canada on the world stage:
Nike is fully capable of designing a good Canada kit. How is it possible they can't just deliver exactly what the women are gonna wear for the men???

Nike has relegated striped socks to the “uncool” bin, where they reside alongside dazzle fabric and full sleeves.
The NFL also seems to have stopped enforcing any kind of rules around socks. That's why I think I'm ready to live in a post-sock world where players just show their legs like in college.
Spare me from seeing all of this:

Given how bad some of these new NFL uniforms look with stripeless pants and same color socks, I'm starting to come around on the idea that college football is right and letting legs show isn't so bad. I think I might actually agree with Will Anderson here.
I prefer this:

The Argos kinda blew it here. Navy jersey and socks with light blue helmet and pants would have been fantastic. Instead we get more monochrome garbage.

This is one of the worst logos in sports history, right? Am I overreacting here?

Gotta be honest and say I don't see how this is interesting at all. It's the 10th photo in a 39-photo slideshow. To suggest that it's somehow a deliberate clue is very silly.
In another photo in this slideshow, you can clearly see their old white helmets with gray facemasks (you can see a bit of that helmet in the photo above, too). Teams keep old throwback stuff around to display. It doesn't mean anything.

"It's called fashion" is just a meme. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/its-called-fashion-look-it-up
The Cardinals' uniforms are mostly trash, but we should not read much into them posting meme text.

Hannah McNair, Texans CEO's wife, talked about the new uniforms at a team charity golf tournament the other day.
Amy Adams Strunk, the daughter of the late Bud Adams and owner of the Tennessee Titans, owns the rights to everything having to do with the Houston Oilers, including the colors, logo and uniforms
This is BS, right? How can the Titans prevent the Texans from using light blue?

The Argos are apparently changing to light blue helmets

It's pretty disappointing (I would argue downright embarrassing) that the mothership here peddles in such obviously bogus Reddit rumors. Time and time again (and again, and again) these prove to be complete garbage.
A cursory reading of the details in that deleted post reveals that they make very little sense (throwback helmets used with the primary uniforms featuring a facemask color that doesn't appear anywhere on the primary uniforms? Right...).
I probably shouldn't at this point, but I expect better from Chris and those he allows to write for this site.
