  1. Oh, no. No no no no no. The one-armed monsters were flying-V bad.
  2. I suppose enforcing the existing rules would help. The type of stuff that passes as "checking" in the NHL is amazingly terrible, especially checking with the hands/forearms/elbows. Then again, it's been taught that way through all levels for years and years. Having been a USA Hockey ref, the amount of stuff I watch NHL players get away with is amazing.
  3. Never a team in Hamilton? I thought they were right after Quebec City in the race to Make It 30.
  4. Oh my God! That's Michelle Bachmann's music! You mean she's moving to Arizona? ...oh, damn. Way to get up my hopes.
  5. Well, he would occasionally squash the eggs in the burgers while making the burgers. Usually with a bit of pepper.
  6. I disagree; those jerseys were easily the best look for the Whalers.
  7. By "great", you mean awful. Just say no to the pullover.
  8. The current logos and jerseys are the best the Pats have ever had, and it's not even close.
  9. Unpopular opinion: Ugh. No. Navy > "Powder"
  10. Agreed, though I think they got even better when they swapped the logos: The player name font could have used work, mind you, but everything else was terrific.
  11. If this is wrong, I don't wanna be right. (Well, except for the pullover days. Can we just forget those happened?)
  12. ...and ugly. You left out ugly. Contrast is a good thing, kids. Plus, those are the Avalanche's numbers, so not so unique.
  13. ...but it is kinda cool to see North American players' names in Cyrillic.
  14. I'm not sure if your opinion's the unpopular one or if mine is, but: ICK. Same thing for the other examples given above; those old Canada logos are awful. Same thing with the squiggly eagle.
  15. I'll offer up my twist on that again: Lighthouse logo from shoulders. Miles ahead of Gorton and the mess they currently use.
  16. The thing is, they'd used black as their primary color for twenty years. Is that a century, a la the Canadiens? No. But it's not a small amount of time, either. Seems a bit slapdash to throw that away just to simply. There is such a thing as oversimplification. I do like the logo a lot better than their old one, but they could have easily incorporated other colors without overdoing it; the same can be said of the jerseys. (See also: Phoenix's ignoring of the sand in their logo, which would make a nice accent on their jerseys.) The victory stripes were small, but they were uniquely Tampa's. Throwing away tradition (yup, even though it's Florida hockey, it's tradition for them) and character in the name of simplicity is--in my mind--overkill.
  17. I like the Steelers' rounded numbers, but wish they weren't italicized.
  18. Given how much you pay to go to that camp, I'd say that's fitting.
  19. I see Man U in your sig as well. The combo of Man U and St. Pauli is... interesting. *heh* (Also, that's a really tall sig you've got going there.) Alright, I suppose I've not yet confessed my own loyalties, so here goes: Soccer/Football Minnesota Stars - My local team for the past two years, founded after the demise of the Minnesota Thunder. Sure, it's only second division in the US (NASL), but it's our team, and I get to follow them live and in person. Plus this happened: US National Teams - They're my national team. I mostly follow the men, but do also keep an eye on the women (...but not in that way). I've been to eight USMNT games so far: Columbus, Sept 2005 - WC qualifier vs Mexico Chicago, Sept 2008 - WC qualifier vs Trinidad and Tobago Columbus, February 2009 - WC qualifier vs Mexico Chicago, May 2009 - WC qualifier vs Honduras Mexico City, August 2009 - WC qualifier vs Mexico Amsterdam, March 2010 - friendly vs Netherlands Chicago, October 2010 - friendly vs Poland Kansas City, June 2011 - Gold Cup vs Guadeloupe Norwich City FC - Back in December 2004, I got laid off. I had a lot of time on my hands, and had never watched the Premier League. Since I had what was then Fox Sports World so I could watch Aussie Rules (it's now Fox Soccer), I started watching a bunch. Somehow, I got hooked on Norwich. I've been to two games at Carrow Road since: 2006 in the Championship, 2010 in League One. I also keep an eye on St. Pauli as well as Sydney FC; I know someone in Australia that's a big SFC supporter. I'm planning to see a game when I'm down there in late March. Hockey St. Louis Blues - Hockey was my first love as a kid. Since I was growing up in the St. Louis area, the Blues were the cause. All these years later, they're still my team. I also like seeing the Minnesota Wild succeed, since I've gotten to watch the team since its inception. Baseball St. Louis Cardinals - Yeah, I'm one of them. I'm not as big a baseball fan as I was when I was younger, but I still try and follow the Redbirds. Other Oddly, for all the years that I've kept an eye on the Australian Football League, I've never really adopted a team as my own. My aforementioned Australian friend is a member of the Sydney Swans cheer squad, so I probably lean that way. We'll see how it goes once I go to my first live AFL game at Sydney in March. I'm not really much of a college sports fan, but I do pay attention to Missouri now and then. I think that's about it.
  20. Speaking of the Pacers, I know this one's totally unpopular: I LOVED their pinstripes.
