  1. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the Columbia Fireflies have the worst number font in history (although their ballpark is gorgeous)
  2. apart from the side panels and the white at the very top of the pants stripe, i actually REALLY like the Bengals uniforms.. i think it's a great look and all their combinations work well together.. if they would remove the white side panels from the colored jerseys, and fill in the white areas with black at the top of the pants striping, they'd have one of the best looks in the league IMO.. i'd also like the see the "B" chest logo changed to a similarly stylized "C" or a small "BENGALS" wordmark... the "tiger dress up" doesn't bother me at all, and neither does the number font or drop shadow.. apart from a few small tweaks, the Bengals have one of my favorite looks in the entire NFL.. their white jerseys are almost perfect as-is with either pants (because the white side panel is actually appropriate here, and the white on the pants stripe is much less noticable).
  3. The 49ers got everything right with all the unpopular aspects of that uniform. Darker red, but still very red, wasn't too cardinal or crimson in the sunlight, and matched the gold in their color scheme perfectly. Basically swapped white for black in the trim, but added some cohesiveness with the very appropriately-applied drop shadows throughout the set (shadows ARE black/dark after all), plus the darker red and addition of black allowed the white and gold embellishments to really stand out. I especially like that they shifted red to the center of the striping and moved black outside, which was a problem I had with the 94 throwback pants.. They did those backwards, although it actually matched the set better that way due to having so much less black. The only thing they should've done differently with this set is remove the gold stems in the pants striping or add them in the helmet.. However, the gold inner outline in the helmet logo actually helped it match a bit anyway. Either way, this is my favorite niners set as well
  4. no sir.. just a red-blooded american, born in the heart of dixie (alabama) and raised in south carolina.. i do, however speak English, and the terms "English" and "British" are very much synonyms (yes, i know the difference between England and GB - and the UK as well), so i feel it could be argued that using the british form of the english word is appropriate, if not ideal. "Gray" has always felt more like a last name, and "grey" felt more like the color to me.. perhaps the main reason is simply because i learned "grey" first **colour No sir, learned that one as "color" first

  6. I generally don't like it either, but I don't mind when multiple logos are used.. I think a situation like the eagles/rams/bengals, whose helmet isn't a logo per se, can certainly get away with a sleeve logo.. I think a helmet logo, then a front hip logo is fine as well, as long as the shoulders are logo-free.. The main problem is when you get 5+ logos on the same uniform from it being on the helmet, jersey, and pants
  7. I've always disliked the gray spelling.. Grey seems so much more correct to me..
  8. They got a lot right with that one, but the update was rendered better
  9. They have like twelve "actual" colors.. They'd be hard-pressed to wear something that isn't one of their actual colors nowadays
  10. The newer logo on a newer hat, but done in that exact style (full panel) would look significantly better than either option presented above
  11. I'm guessing the bell shape has to do with the bells in the Spanish missions, which is where the original padres did their work. It's pretty clever.Clever, maybe.. Ugly, definitely.. I like colored panels, but crudely chopping up a normal panel for a poorly conceived semi-bell-ish shape, just to be "clever" is a swing and a miss in my book
  12. I hate bell-shaped front panel baseball caps.. The Padres, and anyone else who wants a colored front panel need to go full panel, not the ridiculous bell curve nonsense.
  13. Oh ok.. I just didn't see any of those elements as "modern" elements that clashed with a traditional helmet.. I just view that as poor aesthetics and inconsistencies
  14. How does that fit the saints? They have rather traditional uniforms IMO..
  15. I agree.. I'm a huge fan of alternates, but in moderation.. The NFL (for the most part) has it right.. Rules that limit the use but still give some leeway is a good system.
  16. I dislike a lot about their uniforms, but they do have good colors..
  17. Miami Marlins sounds awful and feels awkward to say.. Sometimes an ever-changing flow of sounds is smooth and rolls off the tongue better, like in Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins, but flipping them is equally awkward, like I'm trying to shove extra syllables into my mouth as I speak.. Also, with the state-named teams, what about "Golden State"?
  18. I like the black-purple-black from the knees up
  19. For teams with two "medium" colors or one dark/one medium color, I like when the helmet/pants match and the colored jersey is the other team color.. For some reason, I especially like when the helmet is dark and the jersey is medium, like the Texans red alt with blue helmet and blue pants
  20. Foe the current uniforms I'd go with:White (White is as important as gold for this set and the contrast would look good) Purple (For obvious reasons) Grey (This set feels classic and grey fits this definition) Black (It sticks out like a sore thumb) I definitely don't prefer black as it's totally unnecessary. But I don't think it sticks out that much; not nearly as much as gray. However, the sorest thumb here is white. Purple to me is the way to go for the Vikings' face masks. Give me the 90s (Cris Carter era?) any day. The Favre helmets were the best Vikings helmets IMO.. The metallic purple, matching facemask, new logo, all worked so perfectly for me.. Better than the random black mask that matches nothing else
  21. I prefer alternate jerseys to be worn with normal helmets and pants.. Not sure how unpopular that is, but I often hear people saying something like "they should've worn a black helmet too" but I think it's a nice way to keep 2/3 of the team's primary look in place if you're going to do a bfbs/gfgs/etc jersey
  22. You are 1insaneguyThat monstrosity might be worse than the jags or bucs
  23. If there's any color that would work for Carolina, it's probably "Carolina Blue".. I really think this could grow on me.. Perhaps a slightly less vibrant shade could work better, but the blue is a nice touch.. Symbolizing sky, air, water (hurricane-ish elements), and Carolina as well - well thought out and executed
  24. I might actually agree with you on this one, I'm just interested in why you think the M is better? For me the M represents an entire state, the TC just represents 2 cities. The Twins were the first team to be named after something other than a city. So the "TC" is a nod to the two cities that they could have named the team for. That is the beauty of the "TC." Though I acknowledge that this historic beauty is diminished by the fact that they dumped it for the "M."Also,I do knot know this but I always figured that they avoided an "M" because it could be interpreted as standing for Minneapolis. Wait...they were named for something other than a city? The old logo really wasn't cartoonish. Plus the old version tied in nicely to the standing bronco on top of the scoreboard. The old Denver logo was better in theory than in execution.. It's another poorly drawn logo that needed to be cleaned up and modernized, but I'm a fan of that logo as well.. The newer logo was cool when it debuted, but the original has some staying power, just not in its original form.. Cleaning that one up would be a nice alt to add into the mix if they wanted to look at going back that route

I prefer the wordmarks and overall identity that came with the M logo, but I could go either way with the actual logos for the caps.. I think they could add a white stroke to the red C without losing much, although they achieved the same result by stroking the entire thing in gold - I'm just not a huge fan of the gold.
