  1. The current Eagles helmet wings are the best helmet wings the team has ever had
  2. Drop the side panels and side piping, and it's a pretty darn good set.. Those two elements are so 2000's that they drag the whole look down
  3. It's superior because it's Marshall Faulk
  4. to be fair, granny claims to be from Tennessee..
  5. I prefer Portland's previous... Everything
  6. I hate the old Twins script and Phillies P.. And most other "organic" scripts and letters.. You're a professional sports franchise.. You should look more precise and consistent than wonky fonts with inconsistent line weights and a "hand written" feel..
  7. The process of over-designing a logo in order to have MORE to present and "wow" team executives (and subsequently win the business) is certainly the norm now, but that doesn't necessarily make things any better.. To talk about the Falcon more specifically, why would I ever notice the abstract "F"? My brain doesn't associate the letter F with Atlanta football.. The logo is of a not-so-abstract falcon, so I saw a falcon.. It's not even a falcon in an unnatural or awkward position that would give away the obvious attempt to force a letter into the design - it's just a falcon in flight, shapes in a pretty natural motion/position (albeit modernized and stylized a bit).. Also, letters/monograms/initials should never represent the team's nickname.. They should always represent the team's location.. An abstract A would make more sense, although tougher to incorporate into a falcon logo.. I'm also not a fan of logos that try to do too much.. You're the Falcons.. Your logo is a falcon.. I see your logo, recognize that it's a falcon, and immediately associate it with "The Atlanta Falcons".. Mission accomplished.. No need for hidden F's, other than the grade I give the idea of the abstract F
  8. I never saw the F in either version of the logo until it was pointed out to me.. Probably on this site.. It's a picture of a falcon.. I don't need the first letter as well to help me understand that it's a falcon.. They drew a falcon, I saw a falcon, equation should've ended there.. This subtle/abstract stuff has gotten out of hand, and the falcon/F is partially responsible
  9. I think this is what people are referring to with WV and black.. Black sleeves Black underarm panel Black collar Black facemask Black chinstrap Black socks Black cleats Black gloves WAY more black than a navy blue team should be using..
  10. Very interesting.. I think you'd need to extend the horse neck area further so it flows a bit more with the navy, but it could work.. I think a 2000's Seahawks metallic blue and navy would be a close fit for what you've mocked up here..
  11. I agree that this is a good "one-off" type of starting point for WV.. The color used here is "anthracite"... Anthracite is a dark silvery form of coal.. The coal mining industry is what WV is known for, so it all ties together pretty well, and this shade of grey is much better with the navy and yellow than black.. Make the facemask, shoulder stripes, collar, cuffs, and numbers navy instead of black, and this is actually a good look for WV..
  12. The unnecessary piping and random white underarm panels are really the only major issues with their set.. They're just so egregious that it adds up to make it look very bad.. Dropping those elements would equate to a different twist on the Broncos' look, which wouldn't necessarily be bad..
  13. This Oriole bird looks like it was drawn by the artists of Beavis and Butthead..
  14. Getting rid of the side panels and B chest logo, and it's a fantastic look imo
  15. I hate "Krewe" as a concept/expansion team name.. There, I said it..
  16. A team set of college rings would typically be in the ballpark of 150 rings.. Usually 125-ish players, plus staff, etc.. Also, the NCAA caps the amount each ring can cost.. I was told by our ring rep that Alabama's $367 national championship rings were the max.. I know it's in the $350 range though
  17. The Ducks won the Junior Goodwill Games in the throwback scheme..
  18. Too crimson for the Reds imo.. But solid look nonetheless
  19. Some slight reductions in overall size would need to be made to maintain proportions, but I think that would actually help fitting it all in as well.. I'd definitely be interested in seeing it be attempted at this point though.. I'm intrigued
  20. 7 stripes, unless you're counting the space between the sets of stripes.. Also, the top set of stripes is partially in The shoulder area, so it wouldn't be entirely contained within the sleeve cap area.. The Panthers shoulder/sleeve area is already pretty crowded, but people don't generally complain about that.. If achieving the throwback design is desired, I think it would suffice
  21. This could still be accomplished, even today.. Take the Carolina Panthers' jersey template for instance.. Shoulder TV numbers are present.. Carolina's shoulder loops are pushed a bit more down the sleeve than traditional shoulder loops (such as Indy's), do you could get the top set of tri-colored stripes in.. The location of the Panthers logo (mid sleeve) would be a prime location for the thick single-colored stripe, and a tri-colored sleeve cuff could be used to act as the bottom stripes that were eventually omitted in the original version of the jersey
  22. I'd argue that the gold outline is more superfluous.. Changing it to white so it becomes a double outline would clean it up without changing the general aesthetic
