  1. Hi everyone, Thanks for all of the feedback. i will definitely look into how to treat the gills of the shark illustration. I did the sans serif text for the away uniform to add a little variation to the uniform set and I thought it would be nice to include both of the typefaces used in the logo in the uniforms. I thought maybe having script for both sets of uniforms might be redundant. With the reaction to the script "Jupiter" type, however, I will try that on the away uniforms. I used the red in the secondary logo because in Jupiter they have an iconic lighthouse that is red ( which is why it is red in their current logo), and I thought to keep it that color is a defining element of the landmark. I also thought in a branding perspective, not changing their color pallette from their existing would be a practical cost saving move for a refresh. Thanks again for all of the feedback.
  2. Hi guys, I have made this concept for the Jupiter Hammerheads. In the primary logo I wanted to cue that the logo was for a baseball team through the typography rather than putting an actual baseball. I Kept the typography to a classic baseball script. I thought it kept the feeling of fluidity that was present in the shark illustration. I also liked the idea of a cap logo that incorporated both the "J" and the "H" in the same letterform without looking out of place. I also wanted to pay homage to the history of the club so I kept the lighthouse in a secondary logo that can be used for an arm patch. I would love to get feedback thanks.
  3. I did know about the fighting pike. This logo is such a mix of good and bad, its a decent looking fish... but it looks more like a walleye than a pike (although some call them walleyed pike). It also has too much scale work... it would be cool to see ren69 re-work this. Thanks for your comments. I will be re-working the script. Which are you referring to as secondary the spoon lure or the skull? I was referring to the skull illustration. I think the lure works nicely.
  4. Love the concept and the name, and I think you're primary illustration is great. I think your word mark could use a little work with legibility. I know you were probably going for a hand scrawled look but it effects how fast it reads for me. I also think your secondary mark doesn't quite tie in with your primary stylistically. Great job!

    SUU Redesign concept

Yes, I used illustrator to flesh out the concept.
  6. Love where this mark is at! I think the custom bold typography works well, and though it's not overtly hawaiian it is reminiscent of the geometric patterns found in hawaiian art and sculpture. I do think the body could use some definition with some lines using either the gray or the orange. Great job!
  7. Thanks for everyone's feedback!! As for the Lion on all fours I want to make sure people know that I am referencing the old Lions logo which inspired the stance. I appreciate the feedback about the front arm size, and I will look at sizing it down a little. all in all I'm pretty happy with it. It is a stylized lion and some of the features and proportions were adjusted for flow or just artistic discretion. The hair is blowing back to make it more dynamic than just a flat mane, and I think it looks better on the helmet with the blowing mane. Thanks! Referenced Lions logo
  8. Thanks for everyone's feedback. I think I will try reducing the yellow/orange from the uniforms or just eliminate it all together. I also think the consensus is to go with a more classic lions look for the uniforms. Which is understandable given their history. Thanks for the suggestions. Back to the drawing board.
  9. Very nice update. It keeps the equity intact but cleans it up. Well done sir!

    High School Branding

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I definitely will finesse the hand of the caveman and the headdress based on the critique. Thanks
  11. Hi everyone, I decided to do a total rebrand of the Detroit Lions as if "bubbles" and the current branding never existed. I did it more for fun and as a challenge to myself to come up with a full branding system. I warn those who are Lions fans that this doesn't keep much of what is currently in the system or on the uniforms. It definitely has a less traditional feel to it. I mean no disrespect to the current branding or the traditions from which it came from. That being said, let's go into the project. I based my logo concept off of a 70's profile Detroit Lions Logo that I found on this very site, and made an updated version of it. I thought the profile head would look great for the helmets and be able to be used in many different applications. I then thought to do a front view to be able to be used on the uniforms, and additional logos can help merchandising. I based the typography on a black letter style since the tigers use blackletterI then did the unthinkable and darkened the Lions blue and added a surprise color into the uniforms. I felt that the orange could symbolize fire: the fires of industry found in Detroit, the rebirth of a team from the ashes etc. I also thought the new color could help be a driver for new merchandise lines. For the Uniforms I included watermarks on the shoulderpads of tire patterns representing the motor city, and a grid of the city on the silver uniform.I then decided to extend the series to include a stationary system for their corporate offices. I hope yall like them, and I'm open to your feedback. Thanks, enjoy Profile primary Profile full body front facing logo Lions script Lions Helmet Uniform front Uniform front with Lion patch Uniform back Full Uniform full uniform silver Lions Stationary Sorry forgot to say I used templates from Frasier Davidson for the helmet and uniform shot
  12. I did my high school branding including athletic logos. I always thought we had an interesting mascot, but didn't have a branding system to match it. We are called the cavemen after a cave that was discovered up the canyon from our school. I used the sabretooth headdress to help differentiate from Indian logos, and at the bottom of the primary logo I put an illustration of the American Fork river and canyon (The city is named after it). The athletic branding incudes primary logo, and secondary logos.
  13. You are obviously very skilled with vector art. I really like how you've worked in the shadows.
