I guess yet another unpopular opinion I have is that I think the yellow and brown San Diego Padres uniforms are absolutely awful. The colors don't mix well and the uniform design was subpar in the 1970s. Everyone (except for me) begs the Padres to bring back that color scheme, while I believe the blue and orange the Padres used in the 1990s or their uniforms from the Jake Peavy era would be the best option to return to.

I agree about preferring the later version of the home uniform.I do not like the Diamondbacks original uniform. I think the design is terrible and the colors are '90s tacky. I thought everyone knew that, but the "what sports identities do you miss" thread now leads me to believe otherwise.
The colors may have been a 90s cliche, but by serendipitous coincidence, they happened to fit the southwestern theme of the Diamondbacks identity. The same thing happened with the Marlins.
That said, I preferred the later version of the homes.

The design is terrible? You have one of the worst shoulder patches in NHL history as your profile logo! Not sure if it's already been posted, but I'm probably one of the only people who likes the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim's “Wildwing" jersey from 1996 (Guy Hebert's wearing one in my profile picture).

I hate the Vancouver Canucks logo and uniforms from the 1970s. Bland, undistinguished, and pretty uncreative. However, a lot of people consider them to be “classics" and “one of the best uniforms in NHL history".

The Blackhawks don't have st. Patty's day uniforms. Only Chinese counterfeiters do.
And that's the way it should always stay. Grown men don't need to wear ugly uniforms like that.

What kind of madness is this?Stanford Cardinal: Andrew Luck was a red-shirt freshman when I was really getting into college football. I'd seen games from USC with Reggie Bush, Notre Dame, Sam Bradford's Oklahoma, and other marquee match-ups and Bowl games. But there was something about this team that had caught my eyes. Their helmet stickets were something I always found interesting. They beat USC and Oregon that year. Luck and Gerhart caught my interest, and I've followed them every since.
Toronto Blue Jays: Hometown team. Went to my first games as a young boy in the Carlos Delgado days. Followed ever since.
Edmonton Oilers: Canadian team. Around the same time I went to my first Jays game, I was playing NHL 03 with Jarome Iginla on the cover, and loved the Oil Drop uniforms they had.
Toronto Raptors: Hometown team. Dinosaur uniforms. Vince. T-Mac. I don't need to go on.
Indianapolis Colts: Young SG89 liked the horseshoe logo. Older SG89 loved seeing Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James, and Marvin Harrison tear apart defenses.

Detroit Pistons: I remember going to a couple of their games when I was like 4 or 5, and I enjoy how they don't rely on one star player or a couple of star players, they play as a team.
Detroit Lions: Even if they choke, they're still my local team.
Detroit Red Wings: Great history? Check. Original 6? Check. My parents taught me from an early age to root for Steve Yzerman and co., and they've been my team ever since.
Detroit Tigers: I don't remember watching most of their games in the early 2000's, but I fell in love with them since I went to my first game in 2008. I enjoy watching THE greatest hitter in Miguel Cabrera, and they are so close to finally winning the World Series for the first time since 1984.
University of Michigan: I was either 7 or 8 years old when I flipped the T.V. channel out of boredom to a University of Michigan football game. I was blown away by their cool helmets and awesome color scheme. I've since learned to love their history and hate Ohio State. Living in Michigan, I've chosen Wolverines over Spartans (Michigan State) and I haven't looked back since.

Very highly regarded in the clubhouse for the Indians. And a fan favorite. Tito has kept him around because he's embraced a mentoring role.
And actually, he played great as a pinch hitter last year, & even saved the Indians playoff hopes vs. the White Sox last year.
He's rehabbing a broken rib right now.
IIRC, the Rockies were pushing him pretty hard to retire after the 2012 season and take over the team as the manager. He decided to keep playing, and they went with Walt Weiss. Tito calls him his "Manager In Waiting", and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him go straight into a managers role as soon as he retires.
I often tell people I could see him going straight into coaching.

You do realize Doyle Alexander helped the Tigers win the AL East in 1987
That still doesn't make up for the fact that the Tigers got 3 seasons out of Alexander and the Braves got nearly 20 seasons out of Smoltz.

I know Chris Kunitz is a decent player, but he's also been incredibly fortunate in his career. He's got a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Won a cup with the Ducks in 2007, got traded to the Penguins in 2009 and won a cup there. His chemistry with Crosby led to him being picked for Team Canada and he won a gold medal there. There's a lot of players as good as Kunitz who haven't fallen into the same kind of success.
BTW, the Blue Jackets traded Francois Beauchemin to Anaheim for Federov. Beauchemin has been a solid presence for the Ducks (and Leafs and Ducks again) ever since. Federov scored 39 goals in 185 games as a Blue Jacket. Dougie Maclean had no patience in developing players and instead went after old names like Federov and Adam Foote. Guys he thought would sell tickets. Winning sells tickets, Doug.
Have Steve Thomas on the mighty ducks. Also, having good players doesn't automatically make team your good.

Has anybody mentioned Randy Johnson as a Yankee yet (or for that matter, a Giant)? He's one of my favorite players of all time, so it was hard to see him struggle the way he did in New York.
