  1. Here is a better image of the new logo, that more resembles what we will see in digital and physical media.

Less detail in the logo (no individual beads) than in the unveiling, but we saw this last year when the Super Bowl LVIII logo was first released.

There's some neat patterns in there, but certainly my least favorite logo of the colored numeral era (LVI to now)

It is awful no matter how you slice it. Far and away the worst logo of the new design (LVI-Present) and up there for worst ever, i wish it was hyperbole.

Here's an image with a little higher detail.

Looks like this was a picture taken of a screen. That does affect the colors a bit. I'd love to see how the logo looks in an official digital format, or in print.

  3. Now that we are postgame, I'll start getting a final, and official field ready for the GUD. I'm going to compile some of the best pictures I can find here, starting with this one of the Super Bowl logo, which is Super high resolution (9984x5616pixels):

And this good shot of the NFL logo

I'll get the colors corrected in the endzones, then I think we can wrap things up for Super Bowl LVIII

Thank You for your work Pitt!!  As long as the logo doesnt wash out, this field actually doesn't look too too shabby.

    Thank

Despite how boring the field designs have been recently, the fields do usually look really nice on game day. Some positives from the last three seasons, that I think do make a huge improvement over some other recent seasons, are the colorful Super Bowl logos, and the larger size of the logos. Also helps when games are played on the West Coast, and we get some natural sunlight on the field. Bonus points for games on grass as well.

    Meh.

Should pop a lot more with fresh paint. Would have been great to see the Ravens in this game to match all the red and purple in the Super Bowl logo. Detroit would have also looked good with that Honolulu blue. Red vs yellow 3 of the last 5 years is a little much.

This shot should definitely help me with scaling all the logos to their size on the field though, which is great.

I saw this earlier @pitt6pack, not sure if it helps.

@pitt6pack here's the version they're using for the field. I was able to extract it from the Ticketmaster Super Bowl seating chart. For at least the last couple Super Bowls, that page has had this simplified version, though it took some tweaks to match what the actual field shows. Hope this helps!

    Great resources, thanks!

  7. In the meantime, here is a quick shuffle of the endzones to the correct sides, from my previous post.

I expect I'll need to do some color correction, and the Super Bowl logo will not be as detailed as what I have here. Also need to make adjustments to the teamboxes, as they actually go onto the gray field tray surface, and that also causes the logos in the teamboxes to have to be smaller.

In general, I do like the darker endzone to be on the left, so I do like the Chiefs endzone moving to the right this year.

  8. I'm still waiting on some better field images to get an almost final version of the field together.

I still don't have a good enough shot of the Super Bowl logo on the field, and a good enough picture of the endzones to get the proper scaling (although, I expect the Chiefs endzone to be the same as it has been).

This is the best shot of the endzones I've seen so far, although, this is not the actual playing surface for the game

And the only shot I've seen of the field with all the initial painting done

Still yet to be seen what text will be added at the back of the endzones, but I do expect that to remain as it has for the past few seasons.

Hey, found this on YouTube if you want to spend an hour and a half watching the field work from yesterday.

    This is awesome!

I'm hoping they post this every day, because that 4K video helps me out tremendously with generating the grass texture, and getting the NFL and Super Bowl logos

For the first time since Super Bowl 50 the AFC team's endzone is on the right side of the field when looking at it on TV

Yeah, was not expecting a change in endzones this year, but it's hard to tell with the Super Bowl fields these days when a change is going to happen.

Is there a live cam on the field?

Not one that I know of, but you'd think you'd see some pictures taken by random people, since anyone should be able to walk by the outside of the stadium if you're walking down the street by the stadium, unless they've blocked off that sidewalk.

Which number font do we think they'll be using?

Since the sod gets completely replaced for Super Bowl fields on grass, I'm assuming we will see the standard Century Schoolbook Bold, as the NFL likes to be consistent with the fields from year to year. I'd be a little surprised if we saw the Raiders block numbers, but I don't think it would be completely out of the question.
