  1. Also did an in-stadium mockup for fun
  2. With the Super Bowl matchup set, time to try a first draft prediction in with some texture, before we start getting actual pictures in. Went with 49ers logo, and red in the wordmark for this one.
  3. https://gridiron-uniforms.com/fields/controller/controller.php?action=view-team-all&team_id=SF&city=San Francisco&name=49ers It'll be interesting. With the Saloon font, the 49ers have only gone with all gold and black outlines in a red endzone. So do they go with that precedent, or with their playoff fields from this season. In their last Super Bowl trip, they used the all gold with black outlines, after doing the same for their two playoff games, and included the helmet, as they had included on their field through the 2019 season. The biggest difference in 2019 and 2023 is that the 49ers changed the colors in the wordmark from red gold and black, to just gold and black when they painted the endzones red for the playoffs in 2019, and they did not do that this season. The 49ers almost always (except for the 2002 playoffs) would use the gold and black wordmark on the red background, when painting the endzone red, behind the saloon font. Could go either way for the Super Bowl, so I guess we will see what happens if they make it.
  4. Down tot he final 4 teams, and the final 4 field possibilities for the Super Bowl (assuming the NFL follows the same field design patterns from the past few seasons). Fortunately, for any matchup we get this year, we will at least have some good colors. Ravens 49ers would look best in my opinion, and works perfectly with the Super Bowl logo, and I'd probably take Chiefs Lions as the second best look.
  5. They've already replaced the turf at Allegiant. Hopefully that gives enough time for the turf to hold in place better than last season, of course there were more issues with the way they watered the field
  6. 2023 Wild Card Playoffs Here are the fields from this weekend. The only two notable fields are the Bills, who didn't get the Wild Card playoff logo painted (other than some of the outline) due to all the snow, and the Buccaneers, who painted the endzones red for the first time this season.
  7. Beautiful as always. I've been keeping these logos each year, just so I could put some alternate Super Bowl fields together
  8. Since it's that time of year again, it's time for some concepts. First, base field And my prediction for the field layout (not teams necessarily) I don't think we will see any changes in the template from the past few years. One prediction I have is the number font. Since the NFL will do a full replacement of the field, I think they will put the standard number font on the field. If we're lucky, they'll use the Raiders number font, and outline the numbers in team colors. If they did use the Raiders number font though, my prediction would be that they would not have the numbers outlined, similar to Super Bowl LII.
  9. I'd say, very good chance nothing changes this year. I think the next opportunity for change may take place with changes in the logo, perhaps for Super Bowl LX? Seems like the NFL is set on this new field template though, but at least it's not all black endzones, like the College Championship.
  10. Here's a field that came up on uniwatch yesterday that I just had the urge to do, from the 1969 Eastern Conference Championship at the Cotton Bowl. https://uni-watch.com/2023/12/04/major-find-browns-cb-logo-appeared-on-field-after-all-literally/ The notable part of this field is the Browns logo in the endzone, which was only ever used on a field in this game, as far as anyone knows.
  11. I've got this one in my backlog of too many fields to do at the moment. I do love the endzone font here. Very era appropriate.
  12. Another set of awesome throwback fields this week. Only thing that's really been missing with these throwback games, is the opposing team wearing an era appropriate uniform, which, at least we will get when Seattle plays at Dallas later this year. Should be one of the best uniform matchups of the season. Miami Dolphins We've seen this field the past couple of years, but I just had to add it with all the other throwback fields Tennessee Titans It's really a shame we don't see these designs and uniforms more often Seattle Seahawks So happy to see the Seahawks bring back their best look. It's hard to say who has a better look between the Oilers and Seahawks this weekend
  13. I agree, and it seems to be a growing trend as of late.
  14. New Fields For Week 7 - 2023 Denver Broncos The Broncos went with orange endzones for the first time since the 1998 playoffs New York Giants The Giants brought back their throwback endzones for the first time since the 1995 season Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles brought back a throwback logo at midfield, and the throwback wordmark. I don't know the last time either of these were used on a field for the Eagles (haven't gotten that far back for them on the Gridiron Fields Database), but it's been a while.
  15. New Fields for Week 6 - 2023 International Series - Baltimore @ Tennessee Same layout as last week when the Bills were the "home" team Cleveland Browns The Browns matched their field design to their uniforms this week, changing Brownies clothes and shoes to white, and the endzone helmets to match the Browns helmets on the field. Tampa Bay Buccaneers The Buccaneers used their throwback field to match their uniforms. Some differences to when we last saw this field a little over a decade ago; different helmet at midfield. The endzones are closer to what the Buccaneers used in years past, with no outline to the text. Some past TB fields for example: 2009-2012 throwback (for helmet comparison) 1991 Christmas Time Field (for endzone comparison)
  16. New fields for week 5 I'll start with the London game, which wasn't too far off the normal Bills endzones at least. Just a green boarder in the endzone is the difference there, and the NFL logo at midfield. Pittsburgh Steelers This is the first time since the Steelers have moved to their current early season field design in 2004 that they have the NFL logo in the Pittsburgh endzone, that we'd normally see after Pitt's season has ended. In 2019, the Steelers did have the NFL 100 logo in each endzone, even in the early season. The difference Sunday, and back in 2019, is that the NFL 100 logo was in both endzones, where Sunday, we had just the NFL logo in one endzone. Denver Broncos The Broncos used white endzones with a 1 foot green boarder (seems to be the standard boarder required by the NFL when white colored endzones are being used), and a throwback logo at midfield.
  17. Yeah, nothing I could do with that one. Just went with the base field design.
  18. Week 3 Changes Last night we saw a change in the 49ers endzones from last season. The 49ers are starting the season off with red in the 49ers wordmark, and the NFL logo in place of the helmet in the left end of the endzones. The NFL logos from the 25 yard lines were also removed. 2022 Early Season 2022 Late Season 2023 Week 3 You may have also noticed that I'm ajusting the grass/turf coloring on each field this year, to try to more closely match the colors as they appear on TV (but more specifically, highlights on YouTube, as they appear on my specific computer monitor).
  19. Notable Fields from Week 2 Atlanta Falcons went with the throwback field, that we've seen the last couple years, although, as we saw once last year, not Falcon logos in the endzones. Houston The Texans went with "white" endzones, although, they looked mostly gray on TV Jacksonville The Jaguars fully painted the endzones for an early regular season game, which they have never done before. Will be interested to see if they paint them all year long. Tennessee The Titans moved to an artificial playing surface this season. Design is the same as last season, although the colors do look a bit darker on the turf this year. Arizona The Cardinals pretty much have the same field they have had since the mid 2000s. Big difference this year is the change in number font, to match the Cardinals new uniforms. This has been a growing trend in the NFL over the past several seasons now. New England Lastly, the Patriots went with the throwback design. This is the same design they used last season as well.
  20. 2023 Kickoff Weekend We will have one new field with the Jets tonight, but here are the new fields for 2023 from this past weekend. Cleveland Minor change for the Browns from last season. The helmet logo in the endzone has been changed to be the actual team logo version, with the slightly angled side view, as opposed to the full side view helmet logo. Minnesota The Vikings added some throwback style stripes to the endzones. I was surprised by the Viking logo they chose to go with, which is pretty much the same as what they used in week 16 last season, with the addition of a yellow outline to the white and purple logo. Denver The Broncos removed the logos from the endzones, and are now using a slightly larger version of the wordmark, which is now centered. New England Very small change for the Patriots, who updated the endzones, by moving the Patriot logo up into the wordmark, as it looks on the Patriots official wordmark. New York Giants Lastly, we have the Giants, who have placed the team logo at midfield. The endzones also received minor updates. The endzone paint stops one foot short, creating an unpainted boarder around the endzone. The NY logos in the endzones now have not red outline. One other interesting note: the NFL logos at the 25s did not have a white outline, but rather, what looked to be a thicker blue outline (as if the white outline that is typically present was painted blue).
  21. Hitting the end of the 2023 GSL season, so I wanted to post the Redemption Game and Gridiron Bowl III fields. 2023 Redemption Game (Redemption Game Logo by @RBronish) Gridiron Bowl III Poster Midfield Gridiron Bowl III Logo (by @logoroy) Salt Lake Trappers Endzone and Teambox (Trappers designs by Andrew Seagraves) Birmingham Owls Endzone and Teambox (Owls designs by Nolan Lafrance)
  22. Finally got to see the field for St. Louis
  23. You did a fantastic job with it! I kind of have a feeling we might see your version of the logo pop up in un-official uses, because it looks like it is an official logo. I'll have fun trying to spot it around places.
