  1. Oh, this is good. This is gooooood. The Beacons look fantastic; loving the primary logo.
  2. The retro trend in hockey sucks. Most of the NHL looked pretty killer in the pre-Edge '00s, there was no reason for everyone to start playing O6 dress-up.
  3. Someone finally says it, I've hated this look since day one. Go back to purple/green, please.
  4. The fact that this wasn't the first one that happened baffles me.
  5. Overall, the XFL was one of the best-looking leagues of the last 25 years.
  6. I guess this would be the best place to put my fictional leagues. So, to start, allow me to show you the American Baseball League. CONTINENTAL LEAGUE East: -Baltimore Clippers -Boston Rebels -New York Lions -Toronto Wolves North: -Cleveland Blue Sox -Detroit Motors -Louisville Colts -Minnesota Bobcats (Minneapolis) South: -Charlotte Monarchs -Houston Comets -Kansas City Dusters -New Orleans Krewe West: -Las Vegas Aces -Portland Pioneers -San Diego Admirals -Seattle Breakers FEDERAL LEAGUE East: -Montréal Royales -New Jersey Express (Newark) -Philadelphia Grays -Washington Statesmen North: -Chicago Zephyrs -Milwaukee Lakers -Pittsburgh Hornets -St. Louis Archers South: -Atlanta Lancers -Dallas Barons -Miami Marauders -San Antonio Outlaws West: -Arizona Firebirds (Phoenix) -Denver Mountaineers -Los Angeles Stars -San Francisco Seals
  7. There's nothing wrong with darker shades of green. I don't get this obsession with Kelly green. It's a nice color, but it's not DA BEST EVAH as most people here seem to think.
  8. I absolutely loathe the cuts of modern uniforms. "Sleek" and "aerodynamic" can eat my ass. One of my favorite things about sports uniforms, football and basketball especially, was the baggy look to them. Nike's football templates in particular are godawful; not only do they make most offensive linemen look like lard-asses, but they've effectively ruined the concept of doing anything cool with the sleeves ever, because why bother when the jerseys are basically sleeveless?
  9. The fisherman is better than the Islanders' classic/current logo. Yes, I'm an Islanders fan.
  10. I liked these. They would've been better as an alternate, but I like name-over-number treatments on hockey jerseys for some reason.
  11. Well, if we're talking about NFL minor leagues... here's mine. EASTERN CONFERENCE Northeast Division -Charleston, WV (PIT) -Columbus, OH (CLE) -Grand Rapids, MI (CHI) -Hartford, CT (NYG) -London, ON (DET) -Manchester, NH (NE) -Providence, RI (NYJ) -Rochester, NY (BUF) Southern Division -Birmingham, AL (ATL) -Charleston, SC (CAR) -Little Rock, AR (TB) -Louisville, KY (CIN) -Memphis, TN (TEN) -Orlando, FL (MIA) -Richmond, VA (WAS) -San Antonio, TX (HOU) WESTERN CONFERENCE Central Division -Albuquerque, NM (DEN) -Des Moines, IA (MIN) -El Paso, TX (NO) -Milwaukee, WI (GB) -Oklahoma City, OK (DAL) -Omaha, NE (JAX) -St. Louis, MO (PHI) -Wichita, KS (KC) Pacific Division -Boise, ID (IND) -Portland, OR (LAR) -Reno, NV (OAK/LV) -Sacramento, CA (SF) -Salt Lake City, UT (BAL) -San Diego, CA (LAC) -Spokane, WA (SEA) -Tucson, AZ (ARI)
  12. While it needs some green in there, the orca is the best logo the Canucks have ever had.
  13. Not so much a "look-alike," more of a "shameless ripoff."
  14. what are you talking about those jerseys were fantastic
  15. I prefer the Eagles in midnight green; not only is it unique to them, but they've appeared in two Super Bowls and won their only one in it. I usually associate Kelly green with the Jets, anyway.
  16. Flying Elvis is a far better logo than Pat Patriot. It's sleek and clean, while Pat's far too detailed to effectively work as a football logo. I have the same issue with the pre-1996 Eagles logo.
  17. MLB - New York Mets (from NY/NJ area) NFL - New York Jets (from NY/NJ area) NBA - New York Knicks (used to be the New Jersey Nets, but the move to Brooklyn killed my fandom for them) NHL - New York Islanders (didn't get into hockey until after I left Jersey for Long Island; Devils are still my second team) MLS - Atlanta United FC (can't get behind either NYC club, the Red Bulls because of the corporate name and NYCFC for being the bastard child of Man City and the Yankees) CFL - Hamilton Tiger-Cats (I would really, really like to move to Hamilton at some point) EPL - Stoke City (I... honestly don't know why) NCAA - Syracuse Orange and Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (Syracuse are sort of the default NY college team, and I prefer CCU over SCar or Clemson because... teal) AHL - Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders affiliate) ECHL - South Carolina Stingrays (literally play in the city I live in right now) AAA - Albuquerque Isotopes (love the Simpsons reference) AA - Trenton Thunder (Jersey) Adv-A - Myrtle Beach Pelicans (South Carolina) A - Charleston RiverDogs (guess) USL - Charleston Battery (take a WILD guess)
  18. My basis being that I hate both the Thunder's entire identity and the state of Oklahoma.
  19. Here, have my super unrealistic ideal NBA. Atlantic Division -Boston Celtics -Charlotte Hornets -Miami Heat -New Jersey Nets -New York Knicks -Orlando Magic -Philadelphia 76ers -Washington Wizards Central Division -Atlanta Hawks -Chicago Bulls -Cleveland Cavaliers -Detroit Pistons -Indiana Pacers -Milwaukee Bucks -Minnesota Timberwolves -Toronto Raptors Frontier Division -Dallas Mavericks -Denver Nuggets -Houston Rockets -Kansas City Kings -Memphis Pharaohs (Grizzlies) -New Orleans Jazz (Pelicans) -San Antonio Spurs -Utah Bobcats (Jazz) Pacific Division -Las Vegas Bandits (expansion) -Los Angeles Lakers -Phoenix Suns -Portland Trail Blazers -San Diego Clippers -San Francisco Warriors -Seattle SuperSonics (Thunder) -Vancouver Grizzlies (expansion)
  20. The old Atlanta Falcons logo was awful. Their current logo is a gigantic improvement.
  21. Dammit, beat me to it. I agree, though; I'll always associate him with the Fishsticks.
  22. Maybe it's just 2000s/Mike Piazza nostalgia, but I really don't see a problem with BFBS alternates. I mean, they are alternates, so why can't teams experiment a bit with their color scheme? And on that note, I don't mind teams adding a bit of black to classic logos either (like the Reds); I think it makes them look more modern.
  23. I think the Minnesota Wild's attempts at a faux-retro jersey set are garbage. They should honestly go in the other direction and come up with something that fits the late-90s, early-00s logo design they have. Maybe something like the Stars' Mooterus jersey...?
  24. John Wall in his rookie year, the last the Wizards used their blue/gold/black set.
  25. I think the '90s as a whole were a golden age for jersey design. Fight me.
