The issue is presumably the white uniform is demoted to alternate. Would that mean the orange jersey is promoted to away?

Or is this a situation where the Bengals want to use the regular white uniform as both away and alternate?

The Carolina Panthers all-black is considered an "alternate uniform" despite using the home black jersey.

After watching the DBacks play the Twins all weekend, for the life of me I can't understand why they don't wear the turquoise version of the current uniforms.

Agreed, the turqupise accented unis are far better.  Going by their schedule on Uniform Lineup, they kept the turquoise uni for the home whites and dropped the road equivalent for the original grays.  Below is their June 2023 uniform selections.

Makes sense. No reason to have two different white uniforms. Only problem is this— Can the regular white uniform with white helmet be classified as an alt? Only to be worn at max 3 times a year? The alternate uniform rules are becoming very loose and unhinged.

I think the Panthers denote the black jersey/black pants paired with the black helmet as an alternate, so there seems to be precedence.

With Colorado coming to the Big XII/13/14 next year, who else comes along with them? Does anyone think this helps SMU or Memphis make the jump? UConn is also reportedly ready to jump over too, and I think it would be a big jump for them financially to get their basketball teams playing better competition than what is on offer in the Big East.

"Previously, it was believed the Big 12 was interested in not only Colorado but the other so-called "Four Corners" schools from the Pac-12: Arizona, Arizona State and Utah. Whether that interest remains or can be rekindled remains to be seen.

The Big 12 sees the addition of Colorado as separate move from any additional expansion, which would potentially come at a later date, sources tell Dodd".

I think the Arizona pair and Utah are first priority, anyone else is down the list.

The Chargers had been a navy blue team for most of my life when they started wearing powder blue throwbacks regularly. I didn't throw a fit about them "not looking like the Chargers."

    What a strange position.

I became a Bucs fan when I moved to Tampa Bay in 1997, the year they unveiled the red and pewter.  I never followed them in the creamsicles, but I still like both.

I do remember playing All-Star Baseball 2000 on N64 and thinking it was cool that the Rays had a full dirt infield inside of the dome.

IIRC, Tropicana Field was the first true dome with a full dirt infield.  Of course, they didn't have to worry about football conversion.

Something always felt off to me about the Disney-era Angels pinstripes.

Maybe the weight on the pins looked a little thicker or the spacing was closer. I've looked up some game worn jerseys and they don't use zig-zag pins and they don't seem super close together but something always felt funky to me.

It also didnt help that that Angels era jersey was not a true vest.  The sleeves were sewn on dark blue.

(Sorry, can’t figure out how to embed an image of it from my phone)

You would have to post the photo to a host site like Imgur and then link the image t your post from there.

Metlife did get new turf this offseason.  I believe the previous turf had the NFL logo sewn in (which is why Super Bowl XLVIII had the smaller NFL logo at midfield).  The new turf is likely blank and allow for customization.

Of course they chose the Jets...because of course they did.

It really came down to four teams.  Jets, Saints, Commanders, and Bears.  None of them really were interested, but under the rules for being on Hard Knocks they were the only four who couldn't say no.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the "Hard Knocks" formula, a team doesn't have to be on the show if ANY of the three rules below applies to them:

    1. They have a first-year head coach in place.
    2. They have a playoff berth in the past two seasons.
    3. They have appeared on "Hard Knocks" in the past 10 years.

So, what exactly is “different” about these uniforms that Lavonte David was hyping up?

The template, and the shade of orange might be more accurate to the 1977-1996 shade instead of the 1976 Florida orange shade that was a little more towards the pastel shade a bit.

And those who were fired from the NYT's sports department will be integrated into the Athletic?

Most times when mergers occur, any duplication of efforts can occasionally cause some people to be let go.

It makes sense why they did, the summer heat and all. But, if they knew that rain was on the way; they could've at least moved up the start time by like half an hour or so.

Its difficult to move it earlier in the day in this era of TV schedules.

Does ESPN still do a marathon of all of the past HR derbys on the day of anymore?  I imagine they don't since I haven't seen it in forever.  I used to love watching that as a kid.

I think they used to do that on ESPN Classic.

Also, the kooky shoes are far more of an affront to the Raider aesthetic than any change in pants fabric.

That photo was probably during the My Cause My Cleats week.
