The AFC North is perfect in my book, the cities are all reasonably close, all are blue collar towns, all of the teams play outside, three of the teams have a connection to Paul Brown and the fourth team is the main rival for the Paul Brown franchises.

A stipulation of the 1999 Browns was that they had to be in a division with Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, so it could be argued that the Ravens (old Browns) made more sense in that division than the Colts.

    Are SMU's Dallas uniforms new?

New for this season.  They were wore first against North Texas on September 7.

Are they the primary road whites or an alt jersey?

    Two things:

1). That concept is trash. It still uses the same oversized, garbage flag logo that they use now, and the designer genuinely thinks that's a good look.

2). Samer Ali is an absolute dickhead of a human being. :censored: everything he's ever designed. I've never encountered a more arrogant designer than that dude.

Agree to disagree, honestly I like the large logo on the helmet, and i am indifferent to the new updated flag logo.

I've seen you and Samer have Twitter beef, so lets leave that away from here....i just posted the concept to show an option of what "could be" a direction the Bucs go.  No one's right or wrong, we all can and should have our own opinions.

You might agree with me or disagree with me on this, but i feel no return to creamsicle orange and no white helmets should be looked at.  Red primary jersey and pewter helmets should be where to start.

  5. Creasicle orange is such a dated color, it's solid as an accent secondary color or full throwback, but not as a complete identity  Also the majority of seats in Raymond James Stadium are red, and while stadium seats shouldn't dictate team colors the red would stand out like a sore thumb.

Here's a concept making the rounds from a local podcaster and design guy Samer Ali which takes the red and pewter to a simplified level while leaving a touch of the orange as accent.

The 2019 gold helmets (ie the old ones) look great.

The game against GT made me have a new appreciation of their gold/green/white unis. They looked good.

Agreed, its kind of like the saying "you dont know what you got until its gone".  I thought the color looked odd and too green originally in the 90s and 2000s, but once they went standard gold and chrome gold i realized how original the new ones look.

Still no chrome helmet for USF 😕

Good...the chrome helmet was trash and didnt fit our tradition.  The greenish gold lids theyve used the past two games date back to the first 10 years of the program and just seem right.

Furthering my belief that weeks 1-4 should be all of the interconference games, followed by round 1 of divisional games, then the intra-conerence games, then finish with round 2 of division games.

The interconference games have the least impact, so having those first allows for teams to ramp up without costing them too much if they lose.

I have always thought there should be some kind of standardization of schedules like this.  Taking the Tampa Bay schedule for example, we knock out both Panthers games at the end of week 6.  Both Saints games are done at the end of week 11.

The Panthers around 2010-ish had two kickers, one for field goals, and one for kickoffs who would just boot it unreturnably every time. Seemed unnecessary, but then I still don't understand how the same guy can't punt and placekick.

i also feel like the Falcons did this in the late 2000's decade with Michael Koenen and someone else.

This year the Bucs punter Bradley Pinion will reportedly handle kickoffs and punts.  Matt Gay will take FG's and PAT's.

I wonder if any teams will get re-branded with the Nike deal coming into play. Unfortunately I don't have any intel regarding the MLB.

As with any manufacturer changeovers (NHL, NFL) there's usually a few.

you, once again, have missed my point. i am not saying my childhood perspective is valid (nothing can be *more* valid; something is either valid or it isn't). the poster i quoted said:

"I can't wait for the Titans and Jets to revert to white helmets in 4 years and we can forget this crummy period of misguided rebranding."

i am saying that  i don't believe that what the jets did with their *re-design* is misguided, but to a portion of their fan base, a change like the green helmets is a welcome one because of their own personal taste/experiences. that's literally it.

The Jets look better with the green helmet, thats my opinion.  You can have your own, we all do.

Current owner is an old, rich Wal Mart schlub who lives in Arkansas and wants to stay there. Interested party is a Kansas City businessman. The deal makes sense, and I don't think indicates anything about them struggling. They're apparently worth $1 billion.

Jeez, if a midmarket KC is worth a billion dollars, imagine what some of the top tier teams look like.
