For a shirt with the schedule on the back? I didnt think those sold well when they were $15 plaint white tees, let alone some "brand name" high end shirt

From what I can gather these products are from Wild Collective.  They seem to be a higher end fashion and lifestyle brand.  Their retail pricing is not the norm.

ESPN (so take it with a large grain of salt) is throwing around Salt Lake City as a potential option for relocation, only going as far to say "Jazz owner Ryan Smith has met with Bettman within the past year."

Now that's an interesting location. Anyone know if hockey has any type of following in the Beehive State?

As for SLC, is the Vivint Arena made for a proper hockey setup?  All pics I have seen of the venues ice setup is like this.

Yes, bear head logo now primary instead of the C

That's interesting to have that change.  Wonder if it has anything to do with the politicking to leave Chicago proper for the suburbs.

The Rays as an organization do pretty much everything right, but matching powder blue jerseys with gray pants is not one of them.

I was hoping to see a set of light blue pants this year.  Maybe the 4+1 suggestion came about too quick and they have to wait until 2024.

Reasons this shouldn’t and won’t happen:

    - A third team in Florida? Really?

    - SeaWorld is a genuinely awful location for a stadium

    - The state/county wouldn’t approve that much public money, nor should they

    - Other cities have much stronger cases for a team

    Reasons why this should happen:

    - I would like it to (although preferably without the public money, and more importantly a better name)

The proposed location is in one of the most challenging areas for traffic (just north of SeaWorld near the intersection of I-4 and SR-528).  No way do locals go there on a regular basis.

Also, where are the Rays' navy blue alts? Because with them wearing their sunburst uniforms, that made the O's wear black last night. If they're not wearing orange every Saturday and getting pushed around on sticking to white Mon-Thurs, that's more evidence for me to believe they aren't trying to be consistent anymore.

Per http://www.uniformlineup.com/#, they wore them 14 out of 29 times in April, mostly on the road. Now that the road grays are eliminated, the light blue jersey is what they wear on the road when the home team chooses to wear black or dark blue uniforms.

Ok. So this is gonna be weird. And take a while to get used to.

I feel like it's already been trending this way unofficially.  I've seen a handful of games on Fox that were all AFC and vice versa with all NFC on CBS.

What are the chances of them being able to use Allegiant until their stadium is ready? I know the Raiders wouldn't want too many visitors in their new house, but for a one to two year stint it could be useful.

Hard to say, I know US Bank Stadium in Minnesota was constructed to have a retractile sideline to fit a baseball field, but I don't know if Allegiant was built with that in mind.

There's a reason the Baltimore Orioles minor league team moved out of Baltimore when St. Louis moved in. It was because playing that close to a MLB team does not bring you more money, it's because people wanting MLB baseball over the minors will choose to spend most of their money at the big league park. Now it's possible that the A's try to help out there AAA club, but that usually means cutting into their own profits.

That was also nearly 70 years ago.  The developmental model in professional baseball is a completely different situation.  Just using the current affiliate system, the following AAA teams are within 150 miles by car (some less than 100)

    Sugar Land (to Houston)

    Worcester (to Boston)

    Columbus (to Cleveland)

    Scranton Wilkes-Barre (to the Bronx)

    Toledo (to Detroit)

    Tacoma (to Seattle)

    Buffalo (to Toronto)

    St Paul (to Minneapolis)

    Gwinnett (to Atlanta)

    Lehigh Valley (to Philadelphia)

    Sacramento (to San Francisco)

That's more than a third of the league, not to mention Round Rock and Omaha are just a hair over 150 miles.  If the A's and Aviators sharing the market is bound to happen, it's not like they're the first to do it.

At least the plan there would've seen the A's play at Oracle Park for a couple years while the new park was being built...where would the Rays' temporary home be if this happens?

There's room in the parking lot around the Trop to build a new stadium.  If necessary, i could see them extending the lease another year if necessary.  if they can get things rolling in 2024 theres still plenty of time to have a new ballpark ready for opening day 2028.

    https://awfulannouncing.com/local-networks/diamond-sports-reds-bally-sports-ohio-reversion.html

Interesting development with the Reds and the Diamond Sports (Bally) bankruptcy. Diamond sports didn't make their payment for the Reds rights fees, which, because the Reds own part of Bally Sports Ohio, means they're not part of the Diamond Sports bankruptcy proceedings, which in turn means the Reds immediately take back the broadcast rights to their games.

If Diamond does not pay within that grace period, MLB believes that the team will get its rights back, expected to happen during its early May series with the White Sox. The May 5 White Sox-Reds game is scheduled for AppleTV+. The Saturday night May 6 one is where the Reds could see MLB take over production.

The Reds situation is different from those in Cleveland and Minnesota, two other markets where Diamond has not made rights fees payments on time. That’s because the Reds own part of Bally Sports Ohio, and the presence of that joint venture has kept that RSN separate from the bankruptcy proceeding.

…If it gets back the Reds’ rights, MLB’s plan is to use many of the same behind-the-camera crew and trucks that currently work on the games for Bally Sports Ohio. That because most of those staffers are freelancers, and Mobile TV Group owns the trucks, sources said. The announcers work for the team, including John Sadak on play-by-play with analysts Chris Welsh and Barry Larkin.

This would likely be the case for other Bally affiliates like Midwest (Cardinals part owner), San Diego (Padres part owner), Southwest (Rangers part owner), and West (Angels part owner).

I would have to think MLB could step in for the remaining Bally affiliates not listed above and create a similar alignment.
