Months after the Winter Olympics and before the 2022 World Cup?  If so, 2022 will be a crazy year for sports on the global level.

Up thru 1992 I believe the Summer and Winter Olympics were played the same year.

Paul isnt my favorite source for uni and identity related news, but IF this is the direction Tampa Bay heads I am fine with it.

Paul also says the Buccaneers wordmark on the jerseys is black (which he says wasnt in the past), but yes Paul they were black in the original pewter era.

As I said in the WWE thread, I sort of hope that Wrestlemania 36 is an empty stadium card.  I would watch the whole thing if that happened.

I would think theyd move it to the arena if it goes the route of no fans.  I cant see them using Raymond James Stadium if no one will be there.

Heck, the Final Four is looking for a smaller venue too since the announcement was made for March Madness.

I think I’m losing my mind. Everyone seems to hate this so much, but I... I actually sort of really like it.

Youre not the only one....and its only a portion of the entire identity.  Lets wait until we see it all to judge, but I like this direction too.

...and I dont see the Chargers connection at all.

I definitely think that it wont be Miami, because they just hosted the Saints 3 years ago. Falcons hosted the Lions 6 years ago, so maybe, but it still feels like a long shot.

I think the rule is that you have to take an international home game to host a Super Bowl.  Not sure if Falcons-Lions or Dolphins-Saints counted toward that agreement or not.

Arizona to Mexico City should count for theirs, and then you have New Orleans needing to host a game.

  6. So I was just checking out the potential playoff matchups, and realized that only the Red Wings are mathematically eliminated currently with 35 points.

Then i realized the Red Wings are 23 points behind the second worst team, the Kings with 58 points.  How are they that bad?

On reddit I mentioned how Orlando could be a perfect match for them. With the ESPN affiliation they could set up a smaller temp stadium type thing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports thing and get people to go just because its at Disney World.

Orlando would likely play in Camping World, but if MLS stadiums are in play the perfect venue would be the Orlando City soccer stadium.

I wonder how Detroit would do at Ford Field? Would be cool to see a team there called the Spartans. Pay homage to the Portsmouth Spartans who became the Lions.

Doubtful, wouldnt want to alienate University of Michigan fans by naming the team the same as Michigan State.

I'm actually working on a concept for the Bucs right now with the same idea -- I wanted to darken the pewter to remove the black. My line of thinking was to completely remove black/silver from the equation. Let the Raiders own that color scheme, especially with the Bucs having a similar identity.

I like to tinker with logos before making a concept to establish the color palette I intend to use, and this is what I had come up with. I think it looks great!

I would have no issue with this.  It would simplify the color palette by removing the unnecessary black and silver, but still have colors with a nice Light/dark balance.

Can you possibly put this logo on blank and red backdrops?  Im curious.

Why are you so dead-set on getting rid of the flag? The skull and sword logo is, in my opinion, a distant third behind both Bucco Bruce and the full flag logo.

Also, I am pretty sure the Raiders had a slight issue with the crossed swords flag logo upon release in the 90s, and removing the flag and using the logo alone might stir up more tension.

The fact that Aaron Murray takes up a roster spot on that team is even more egregious. Trestman really doesn't seem to know how to use any of his quarterbacks effectively though. Swapping them in and out in the middle of drives makes no sense.

To be fair, Murray is a local guy who played high school ball in Tampa, but thats all he had going for him.

  12. Reports are out saying that Vipers QB Quinton Flowers wants an outright release.  I assume he is frustrated with the starting QB situation where he's clearly performing better than the backup Taylor Cornelius.  Heck, Flowers scored the franchises first TD in Week 3.

I really do feel for the guy, and it doesn't help that the teams been using him in marketing the team due to his status as a former USF starting QB.

    Colts (very minor)

    These are new.

If accurate, Colts could be something small like a wordmark or logo added to the chest or collar or nameplate.  Chargers with a new stadium could be just like the Rams.  Pats are a standout for sure.

Pretty good ratings in Ohio. Would love to see a team close by. Hoping if they do, it's at least in Columbus. I'll drive a 100 miles to watch XFL.

I was just going to say the same thing.  The Crew stadium would be a great home venue.
