  1. If most people really stop noticing ads on jerseys, they'll get bigger or shinier or get flashing lights or something, because...you know... they're advertisements.

I see your point, and if I was used to jerseys without ads on them I would probably be skeptical as well, but the photo bellow shows the same team in the early 1990's. The same ad (SGIO) can be seen on the left hand side of the jersey. I'm not saying that the NBA or any sport will keep small ads on jerseys before switching to bigger and flashier ones, but I remain optimistic that it'll be similar to the AFL.

  2. I have absolutely no problem with ads on jerseys. As an Australian I am so used to seeing ads on everything in sports. It becomes part of the identity of the team. QANTAS is synonymous with the Wallabies (national rugby team), SGIO and Hungry Jacks have been lifetime sponsors of the West Coast Eagles and Australian Cricket always uses some sort of beer on their jersey. After a while, you won't even notice them. It really isn't that big a deal. Sorry, but that's my unpopular opinion.

I have a feeling that the NBA will incorporate something like what they do in the AFL, with two logos (mind you one is the league logo) on the top part of the jersey, one on the shorts and one on the back of the jersey.
