  1. Once the Texans get done releasing the rest of their uniforms... I'm going to be so happy that the Browns will no longer hold the title for worst uniform redesign in NFL history.

Keep the red, because that's the color of cards other than black

Also how would it look like with the team/city name above and below the number? Like so:

    BLACK

    15

    JACKS

    LAS

    15

    VEGAS

    This.

  3. I'm looking for suggestions on fonts for a logo I'm trying to develop.

The first font, I am thinking something a little bit more classic/block/basic, that would would look good on the front of a whiskey bottle or on a whiskey label.

The second, is something a little more fun, but still someone reserved, maybe something a little wavier, but would illicit thoughts about movies and going to the movies.

    Thanks for any help.

It's a custom template, but that's being generous. It's actually four separate files in AI (jersey front, jersey back, shorts front, shorts back), each with several dozen layers. Once finished, those four files get converted and dropped into a fifth file in PS to produce the final presentation and clip the detail images. It's a terribly inefficient process, and I've always wanted to provide a single, polished template file, but realistically I don't think I'll get around to it any time soon.

    Bummer.  Thanks anyway.

Does anyone have a decent/easy .PSD template for hoops unis?  Thanks.

Purple and orange is definitely more interesting than the boring blue and red from the mockup logo:

I dig the sublimated pins on the road alt, too.

Yes, all we need is ANOTHER R/W/B team in profession/college sports.  Why are so many professional franchise and branding companies so averse to having color and originality?

What if... the Cardinals relocated to Milwaukee (and changed their name)?

This is the same premise as my original Cardinals → Milwaukee design, but if they changed their name to the Brewers. The uniforms are inspired by the American Association team.

This script font!  Where did you get it?  Elite.

  7. Not a home run... but an upgrade from the previous set.  I would have liked to see some form of the sword slash from the 90s make it's way to the uniforms, maybe on the shorts.  They are at least trying to unify the set by dropping the navy and sticking with 3 colors.

The font is terrible but at least it's consistent across the jerseys. The V-net was a missed opportunity on the CLEVELAND jersey.  I would have liked to see the wine in-stroke on the black uniform font.  Maybe black in-stroke on the wine uniform font.

Other than that, I dont HATE them.  This is the current trend right now, so it kinda is what it is... It could be a hell of a lot worse.  I think an under designed uniform is way better than over designed uniform.

  8. If the USC/UCLA news is true... I would bet the B1G and SEC are going to race for Clemson and Florida State as the next big 2 dominoes to fall.

When all this started happening in 2010, it was rumored the B1G wants to get to 18 teams.  Clemson and FSU would do that.  Not sure if it's possible.  Not sure if 18 is the endgame anymore.  At this rate, no one is safe.  I would think other schools in play for the B1G include Colorado, North Carolina, Oregon, any of the Texas schools, and Notre Dame.

I assume this news is going to cause an immediate SEC meeting and they are going to extend invites out to Florida State and Clemson sooner rather than later.

The PAC and XII could make a decent 3rd/4th conference, assuming everything else stays the same... Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado, Iowa State, Cinci, WV, Baylor, KSU, Kansas, OK-State, Texas Tech, TCU, BYU, UCF, and Houston.  There is just no way more of those schools dont get poached.

  9. RE: Cavs

    Good:

    • Getting rid of the navy.  It was too close to black and caused unnecessary confusion.  The black, wine, and athletic gold is a really nice color pallet.  Black pretty much had to stay, since they won the title in black, so it only made sense.
    • The C-shield is an upgrade from the previous version.
    • In general, the unnecessary drop shadow/strokes over-designing is gone.

    Bad:

    • The loss of the C-sword.  It was a nice logo.  It seemed very identifiable with the Cavs.  The greatest era in Cleveland basketball history is now gone from the identity.
    • The middle stripe within the CAVS wordmark would have been a nice touch, but the stripe is too thick and the font is too thin to make it work.

    Ugly:

    • The font.  This over-serif font trend is so bad.  Frankly, I'm shocked it's lasted this long.  I LOVE a good, unique font.  I think every team in sports should have a unique font.  But man, this trend has gots ta go.

    Areas to Improve:

The Cavs have always been a hot mess so I'm not sure why anyone is annoyed by the rebrand or expected anything different.

Lastly - I thought there was a new rule in the NBA that each team had to have a roundel logo or some sort of basketball imagery in their primary logo?  Did I misread that or did that change after a couple years?
