  1. I'd agree so as well, given the general Wasatch Front's size and the fact that it's a college football hotbed (Utah, BYU, and to a lesser extent Utah State), I don't see it happening. But hey, if the Rams are shut out of Los Angeles and Stan Kroenke is looking for markets, "Utah Rams" has a nice ring to it. And yea, I kinda like everyone having their own allegiances, though it's true that the Broncos are probably the favorite team in these parts. But don't forget, the 49ers--and to an extent the Raiders and Seahawks--have pretty loyal followings here, too. But back to the topic at hand...I'm still convinced that this is going to be one big fuster of cluck if Kroenke is denied LA, and the fallout will be extensive--be it in St. Louis, Los Angeles, or anywhere else. It probably goes 49ers, Broncos, Cowboys, Bandwagon Team of the Year. I am guilty of the latter -- I love the NFL in general and just never pledged allegiance to a team, because we don't have a team here in Utah. And, just never felt strongly to one team over another. But, really, there's NO way I ever see a team here in Utah. Not only for the reasons mentioned above, but I really do wonder what the Mormon/Sunday thing would do to attendance, etc?
  2. Colors work fairly well for a team called the "Stealth," dark and subdued. But the logo's execution just seems...off. The script doesn't stand out at all against the "S," and the "Baseball Club" font is much too basic. SEEMS off? It's horrible. It's completely off. Most likely made in Paint.
  3. I really love the Browns' new brown jerseys. JK! I think that'd make me a horrible person if I really did.
  4. Que significa? Why did this happen To honor Dr. J at the All-Star Game.
  5. New York metropolian area technicality has nine teams now (Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, and Devils). Thus the qualifier "At one point in the early history of the NBA..." Actually ... that wouldn't be the Zephyrs/Packers team (1961-63), it would have been the Stags (1946-50) ... if you're including the Giants and Dodgers (who both skipped down in '57). But, it still holds true in '61 when the Giants and Dodgers were in California and the Mets weren't active yet until the next year.
  6. My money is on the Rams announcing the move and gaining support from the NFL which then will force the Chargers to make a decision and I bet you they'll end up sharing the Rams' stadium with them in Inglewood. Thus, leaving the Raiders in Oakland or free to look elsewhere (ie-St. Louis, San Diego, etc.)
  7. Those are awesome, actually. I'm pre-ordering one of those hats. Awesome design and promotion! MiLB at it's best! (don't get any ideas NBA)
  8. What year was that? That seems wrong to me? 2007-08 Yeah 07-08. The striping on the 76ers uniforms were different than in previous seasons as well. What's different about those Bobcat jerseys? Aren't those the same ones worn since 2004-05 when they started?
  9. What year was that? That seems wrong to me?
  10. And, speaking of Horry and Cassell both of them in a Suns' jersey is even rarer since both were traded before mid-season. Oh, and let's not forget the 16 games he played in Dallas ... And, I guess we should also throw the 23 games he played in the old Nets uniforms ...
  11. This looks completly normal to me. Here in Orlando during Grant's tenure with the team (especially during our '95 Finals run) the motto, "Its Gotta be the Goggles", was widespread througout the city on billboards and t-shirts. Horace was definitely a fan favorite. I think Horace Grant with both the Chicago Bulls ('87-'94) and Orlando Magic ('94-'99 & '01-'02) are the "right" uniforms. This is the jersey that looks "wrong" for Horace... I was about to respond the same. To me, Grant looks right with both Chicago and Orlando, just a little more right with Chicago. He's kinda like Robert Horry or something, where both the Rockets and Lakers look right for him, but (and this is only because of my age - I'm sure others older than me would swap it) the Lakers just look a little more right. No ... no ... no ... L.A. is a little weird, but he won a championship in that jersey. THIS looks the strangest for Horace Grant. And in those hideous scarlet alts.
  12. I don't think Colorado could support a second team. Seriously though, no. The Coyotes are going to milk Glendale for all they can. They feel that they had a binding contract with the city (binding on the city's end, anyway), and are going to put up a huge legal battle if Glendale tries to stop payments. They wouldn't cut and run so quickly here. Besides, the arenas in Quebec and Las Vegas are not yet ready. Do you think if the contract was voided by the city that the Coyotes would possibly look to move back to America West Arena US Airways Center Talking Stick Casino Arena for the long term or a year before hopping to Vegas, Seattle or Quebec?
  13. The problem is, I don't think the Chargers can afford to be squeezed out of L.A., in today's economy and with as much as they rely on the L.A./O.C. market I would see them jump north once the Rams officially commit to the move. Plus, the Raiders just don't have the $$$ and pull that the Chargers do. I can see the Raiders staying in Oakland or moving in with the 49ers until a new stadium is built. Or maybe even move to St. Louis, San Antonio or some place like that if a Bay Area stadium solution isn't found.
  14. Here's some SEMI-related news of the plans for the LA FC stadium near USC. http://www.espnfc.us/major-league-soccer/story/2456174/mls-los-angeles-football-club-reveals-plans-for-stadium
  15. It's much more enjoyable with pictures ... and we also got all of the alts for both teams in during that one year.
  16. Seems like the writing in on the wall for all 3 cities. The prevailing wisdom leaking out of Phoenix is that Rams and Chargers will end up in LA, and the Raiders will end up in St. Louis to off set the loss of their team since that's the only city of the 3 offering any kind of tangible public subsidy. Barring that you can expect the Raiders in San Antonio for the same reason, public money. Oakland will never be providing that so they'll end up losing the Raiders. My money is on the Chargers and Rams moving to L.A. as well. I am not so sure if the Raiders would end up in St. Louis? I'd love for them to stay in the Bay Area either in Easy Bay or sharing Levi's Stadium with the Niners, but if that doesn't work out I could see him putting up to the highest bidder. Pretty much as you stated anyone willing to give him a FREE publicly paid for stadium. And, it wouldn't surprise me to see a number of communities bid for them because how often will NFL franchises come up in the future? Portland? Las Vegas? San Antonio? St. Louis? Chicago? Toronto? Birmingham? Omaha? It will be interested to watch the dominos fall once they do. Birmingham cannot even approve $700K to fix up Leigon Field. That city has had the idea of a domed stadium for 20 years and not a shovel in the ground. Plus, their tax rate is regressive as a state (all groceries are fully taxed), which makes the residents even poorer. Omaha isn't going to retrofit TD Ameritrade Park for the NFL. Considering it was built specifically for the college world series you can pretty much rule that idea as worse than a non-starter. I just threw that list together. I am sure there are issues with each of those sites. The point being I would expect a number of communities to bid for the Raiders.

  18. Agreed. That's why you have to put on it to attract Final Fours and other large indoor events. That's why Cleveland really screwed up not putting a dome on the Browns Stadium.
  19. Actually, Majerle did wear that jersey during his last season. Though it's still not what he wore for the majority of his career.
  20. Exactly. They need to do more with the sleeves or start putting patches or numbers on them. Give them SOME design element.
  21. Sure there might be a threat, but the Mets play next JFK and that would seem like just as big of a threat considering the location. It's all a game now. How many stadiums are still at play in LA? 3-4?
