  1. It looks like most of the Fox owned and operated stations east of the rockies are showing the game, those stations would be in Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Philadelphia, Orlando, Tampa-St. Pete, and Washington DC, for some reason the FOX O&O's in Atlanta and Houston aren't carrying it. The other cities were probably slated to show it before the scheduled got trashed thanks to the Ravens. I'm a Steeler fan(moved away from Pittsburgh) living in Detroit and we weren't getting the game if it was played on it's original date since the Lions were playing at the same time. I can see two reasons why the game isn't being shown in more markets, the first being the NFL doesn't want to devalue Sunday Ticket more than it already is by making the game national and local stations not wanting to give up the revenue from their ad slots during syndicated shows and local news.
  2. That's a decent looking belt and a much better look compared to the past when players were running around with WWE belts.
  3. It counts and so does that Postal Inspector show that CBS runs Saturday mornings.
  4. Those Vet Saving Pets type of shows are so the local affiliates can reach their FCC mandated E/I content hours, stations usually run them later in the morning since those 7AM to 10AM local newscasts and network morning shows bring in revenue.
  5. Pitt never had a rivalry with Cincy, sure the old Big East gave them a trophy to play for but no one cared. Pitt's rivals are Penn State and West Virginia and thanks to the nonsensical alignment of conferences they no longer play yearly. Outside of money it makes no sense for Pitt to be in a conference with Florida State, Penn State to be in a conference with Nebraska and West Virginia to be in a conference with Texas Tech, part of me wants the tv money bubble to break in the next few years leading to everything being reset to make more sense geographically. On conference expansion, don't South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and maybe Kentucky have a pact blocking any school from their respective states from joining the SEC? Both the SEC and B1G want to expand their footprint so don't be shocked if they strike at the ACC with the SEC taking Virginia Tech & NC State and the B1G taking UVA & North Carolina. If the SEC and B1G are able to pull that off the Big 12 will swoop in and pick apart the ACC's bones, FSU and Clemson if they only want to expand to 12 then Pitt, Louisville, GT and Miami if they want to jump up to 16. Also there's been talk recently that the Big 12 would raid the PAC-12 but I can't see the likes of USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington and Colorado wanting to be in the same conference as West Virginia(distance), TCU & Baylor(secular), the Arizona schools get a ton of students and athletes from California so it's hard to see them cutting ties with the four California schools.
  6. There's also the California University of Pennsylvania in California, PA.
  7. Everyone involved wanted to keep the Bengals, Steelers, New Browns and Old Browns together due to their longstanding rivalries.
  8. If it was my decision not much would change from the current setup. The only way North and South divisions wouldn’t be a killer time zone wise(Denver is two time zones from half their division) is if the NL and AL were radically altered or done away with.
  9. Why have Pittsburgh and Philly in separate divisions? Back in the day it was one of the fiercest rivalries in baseball and if they ever were in a race for the division crown it would instantly heat up again.
  10. Why are the Pirates and Montreal in the Central and the Reds in the East? As much as I hate that the Pirates are currently in the Central and Atlanta is in the East, in the scenario above the new Montreal team should definitely be in the East.
  11. Do the stars on the Meadowlands logo represent the horse racing tracks in New Jersey?
  12. Has there ever been an explanation given on why they went with the current end zone design and ditching of the conference logos?
  13. As a Penguin fan I'm happy they're not playing in State College, the town and Penn State were barely punished for the Sandusky cover up and the residents and fan base attitude towards the whole scandal is disgusting.
  14. I don't know how someone with normal sized fingers can wear these things. https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/penguins-championship-ring/c-291523268
  15. When seeing the rings side by side I don't mind the all diamond Penguin.
  16. No, there's a reason the Braves and A's moved back in the 50's same with the Browns leaving St. Louis.
  17. True but teams will be flying in and out of charter terminals which don't have slot machines and the teams can book rooms in non-casino hotels like Vdara or the Trump hotel. For the Golden Knights and eventually the Raiders, the club scene will be where we see players getting into trouble or slacking off from partying to much.
  18. Why's that? The gambling thing? That was years ago and he's complied with his reinstatement condition that he not be involved in any type of gambling.
  19. Wont politicians in Virginia and North Carolina get involved if Virginia Tech and NC State get left in the cold? There's precedent in Virginia since the state legislature got involved during the ACC's first raid of the Big East which lead to VT getting in over Syracuse. Something similar could happen in North Carolina with NC State and it wouldn't be surprising to see Duke and Wake Forest alumni with political power get involved too. Remember Texas Gov. Anne Richards and fellow Baylor alums in the Texas state legislature blocked Texas and Texas A&M from moving to the PAC-1O and/or SEC and got Baylor into the Big 12 over Houston which is a state school.
  20. The BCS is dead and any chance of a playoff is also dead if the Pac-16 and Big Ten+6 happen. There's no reason for any of the three parties to be part of the BCS or playoff with the insane amount of money the conference championship games and Rose Bowl will now make. The SEC and Sugar Bowl will most likely cut a deal to take the most attractive at-large school, like they did back in the day.
  21. They could make up for it by being in as many NYC area pre-season tourney's along with scheduling the likes of St. John's, and Seton Hall in non-conference games.
  22. It's all about football for Pitt and Syracuse, Big East football is dead if they lose another team, they can't make that up in basketball money.
  23. They do it for the kids, it's a big deal for them to play at Heinz. Yeah, I get that. It just seems that they shouldn't sacrafice an event as big as a college championship game for state semi-final football games, since there are probably other more-than-suitable venues elsewhere. Actually, unless they were going to play at IUP, Clarion, Slippery Rock, or one of those other D2 schools, there's probably not. There really isn't anywhere central enough in the WPIAL area that could host it. Also they would have no problem re-sodding the field after the WPIAL games for a game the next weekend, they did it this year with no problem.
