What are those triangles by the number on the Denver jersey?

Houston doesn't have those. If these are real and those are a design element that has the potential to look really bad.

I'm pretty sure they're supposed to be topography maps for mountains, like you'd see on a map.

Most obscure reference on a Nike jersey yet…

Still feel like the numbers on the Broncos away should be orange, to show that they're matching the orange home instead of the navy alternate

Have the Broncos ever had orange numbers? Even the Orange Crush set had blue numbers on the white jersey.

What is supposedly so bad about the Texans uniforms? If anything, these leaks tell me that these are waaaay more restrained than I ever imagined them being based on the initial descriptions we were given. Barring any surprises from the pants and helmets paired with these sets (which the leak of the away would seem to confirm there won't be) then these are a perfectly fine update that emulates the original set a lot more than I was expecting them to.

Now the The H-Town blue set on the other hand looks just as lame and desperate as you could imagine for a uniform with that concept behind it, for which I am thankful as a Titans fan.

    H-Town set looks like a t-shirt.

First impressions: goddamn, the Lions (almost) did it! They did a great job with this. Going off the revealed combos, this is what they should wear.

    Silver/Blue/Silver/Blue

    Silver/White/Blue/White

    Throwback

(And if they have to wear BFBS, then Blue/Black/Blue/Black)

I hope to god we see White on Silver with Blue socks at some point, but I'm worried it's not gonna happen. And considering we didn't see Blue on Blue at all, I have some hope that the Blueberry won't be seen.

From the rest of the revealed combos, the less Black on Black and White on White we see, the better.

I’m worried about the lack of white-over-silver too. Of course, when they wore that combo last year they insisted on wearing those stupid white socks. I can’t wait till the 🥶 trend goes away, or at least shifts to something that looks like actual ice 🧊. I could go for a light, icy silvery-blue joining somebody’s color scheme (although if the Broncos do that as rumored, it will no doubt look awful).

I just read the whole article. Woody being a douche is probably what left us with the half baked elements like the traditional oval and repurposed New York wordmark. But boy this article makes you appreciate what they ended up going with! 3 tone green uniforms? silver helmets?  This could have been way way worse.

Three-tone green? No, they wouldn’t have ended up looking good, but I would like to see somebody do that again. The color combo worked for the Bucks back in the day.

Hopefully the Texans didn't hire Tanya Snyder...

Coming 2025: all 32 teams will have a “Tanya Snyder Edition” alternate, designed by the wife of the former Washington owner. They will be obligated to wear the alts in Thursday night contests. The nickname “Tanya Rush” is picking up speed.

I think the lighter silver would work if the jersey was red. You stated the problems already with that look as a primary, but as an alternate that could work. If and when the Falcons change jerseys, they should consider making red the primary jersey color again.

If the jersey were red, it would pretty much be a Buckeyes ripoff.

Alright, since I've been talking about it forever, I ran a quick & dirty mock-up of my ideal Falcons uniform with Dark Silver helmet (sans Gold):

    W5okmWF.jpeg

Add a Gold outline to the helmet stripe, logo, and the Swoosh & accessory details (like on cleats) if you wanted to go that route.  Either way, this would do it.

(I wouldn't even be completely heartbroken if they added a small 1" tall "ATLANTA" above the number in a clean new non-italic font.)

I just realized I 🙄 reacted to this post while trying to 👍 it.

Personally I would rather ATL stay with a black helmet, but your design is still a definite improvement on what they are actually wearing.

I share the concerns of the poster who found it too similar to Tampa’s set though. I think it looks like the Buccaneers mixed with one of the black alts my Ohio State Buckeyes have periodically worn.

The Browns VP was on their radio show today talking about the facemask change. Didn't say anything about the uniforms changing this season. He did mention exploring adding a third helmet into the mix next season. Specifically said brown and no logos. Seems unnecessary and honestly I only see it working with the brown color rush (which is atrocious) or some new alternate. I would assume that nothing major, uniform-wise happens until next season.

If they come out with a color-swapped brown helmet to go with their Diarrhea Runs - er, Color Rush head-to-toe brown set, I would imagine their fanbase would react in much the same way they did to the 2015 changes. It was less than a decade ago, Browns. Do you really forget that quickly?

I think that uniform works better with the Red helmet due to the Red in the number and pant stripe.

With a Black helmet, I prefer the Black numbers and Black-dominant pant stripe.

IMO that look was too unbalanced in favor of the black. Granted, that road set is tilted a bit in favor of the red, but with the black helmet and number outline and NOB and the multicolored pant stripes, it has always worked for me. The differences in color emphasis between the home and road sets make for a very balanced set overall, kind of like what the Giants have done for the past twenty-plus years, or the Texans pre-2009 (when they stopped wearing red socks on the road).

    My choice would be Redwolves.

The best option has been staring them in the face for nearly two decades.

Sounds good to me. For future reference, why was my post changed? I don't believe in re-writing history, but I would have worded it differently if I knew that wasn't allowed.

It’s a filter on the boards. As far as I know it’s automatic. It changes any instances of the franchise’s post-Braves, pre-2020 name to their current one. I don’t find it necessary but it’s in accordance with site policy around controversial topics.

I wish the Seahawks would get a clue.

I get the feeling that they have one, and their current set is generally popular with their fans. But you are one of their fans; what have you heard others say?

I think anyone who designs anything for a living knows exactly this. I have almost never had a project go from start to finish without a client putting their fingerprints all over it. Usually the more cooks you have in the kitchen, the worse the end result will be. Especially when you have someone pushing for "new, innovative, cutting edge". At the end of the day they are the one's paying the bill and will get whatever they want. Not everything we do as designers works. But sometimes we don't deserve all the blame. I've never worked with a company like Nike or a league like the NFL. But even on a smaller scale I used to take criticism personally on social media and message boards. I've learned to just focus on the positives and appreciate the work being done. Regardless of how some people on the internet feel.

When it comes to the NFL and Nike. One positive is that most of the time teams recognize their failures and eventually go back to what works. The Browns, Bucs, Chargers, Cardinals, Jets, etc all have nice sets now after trying way too hard to modernize everything.

They say that too many cooks will spoil the broth; honey, I think that’s not true. Well, maybe too many cooks will spoil the broth, but they’ll fill our hearts with so much, so much love!

It’s foolish to ever think a team will only ever wear one set of pants. Raiders are the only holdout.

In my proposal they could technically have two pairs of pants…they’d just both be grey. For the main three jerseys they could simplify the stripes to Braisher stripes. Then they could wear the more complex (and historically accurate) stripes with the throwback.

  16. 6 minutes ago, GFB said:

Yeah, I meant the 90s throwbacks replacing the 50s throwbacks and then the main set of uniforms

Gotcha. Man, I hope the main set is decent. It has to be better than the way they wore the old set last year, right? The 🥶 combo made me angry. It was like the designer got bored and quit halfway through.

So, Atlanta is definitely getting a redesign after this season, right? RIGHT?

Bring back 1997-2002 set but with current helmet and logo. Make pant stripes narrower. Add red alt jersey in the same style. Bartkowski-era red-helmet, red-jersey throwback. Only ever wear silver-grey pants with all combos. Done.

That preview makes me think we are getting the 90s throwbacks (the big white stripe shot between blue) and I’m happy to see the block letters.

Just the WCF patch removed, no sleeve wordmarks, and the pants having stripes left to clear, but this is promising

I’m sure the Barrys will have striped pants and no sleeve wordmark, but I just have a feeling they aren’t the main thing.

I think the perfect Jacksonville Jaguars uniform would be a mash-up of all 4 of their historic uniforms:

    '95 Pant
    '97 Jerseys
'09 Black helmet with Teal metallic fleck

    '13 Logo

'13 Number outline color scheme on White jersey, '95-'08 color scheme for numbers on Teal jerseys

    '18 Number font

I’m just glad you didn’t say the gradient helmet. You’ve been a constructive contributor here and I would hate to see you perma-banned.
