  1. Seconded! We want it and we want it RIGHT MEOW!
  2. They can do better than this, but they also can (and, let’s face it, likely will) do worse.
  3. I agree that the Bengals’ helmet would be a fairly strong logo. In terms of iconic helmet designs, it’s right up at the top with the Rams’ horns, the Vikings’ completely different horns, and the Eagles’ wings. The other three teams all have “normal” logos but they aren’t strictly necessary except maybe Minnesota’s.
  4. I’m mostly okay with the Ravens’ look except when they go yoga pants. The stripes on the helmet could stand to change but they aren’t that intrusive. The white jersey/purple pants/black socks look is really strong in my opinion.
  5. I am sorry your head fell off. May you Rest In Peace.
  6. Plus, the logo itself is boring and lazy, and the font is dated.
  7. So that’s what Starter is up to these days...
  8. And it looks wonderful, but I thought Reverse Retro required mixing an older element with a newer element. Mariners and Astros definitely do that (although I’d recommend a silver outline on Seattle’s S logo), combining older designs with modern colors. Angels (much as I like that design) and Athletics both use colors and design from the same era while changing color balance, which would make them more akin to fauxbacks. Is Texas just the Rangers’ current alts with the old-school T logo?
  9. That’s a lot better. I still cringe seeing them in black, but the sky blue and metallic gold really help.
  10. Love the Angels. I don’t really see how Oakland is a mix of eras though. Is anything about either the design or the color scheme modern?
  11. All good except the Royals. Their addition of black was one of the worst moves in MLB uniform history. A better idea would be to do the aughts drop-shadow look in double blue. Or possibly one of the blues mixed with metallic gold.
  12. You’re really thinking outside the box with some of these, and I like that.
  13. They were saying the Panthers should wear silver pants instead of white. I agree with this.
  14. Jags can’t even make up their mind how much each color matters to them. Raiders are silver and black and instantly recognizable as such. You could take out all logos and words and it would be incredibly obvious still.
  15. I know. But the Browns were a major power in the ‘50s and I’ve read that something about their look appealed to Lombardi - specifically the color balance. He decided the helmet should be the team’s secondary color because of them. And then he extended that idea to the pants. He had an opinion on what a winner should look like.
  16. Late fifties? I believe Lombardi was on Paul Brown’s staff when the team switched to orange helmets, which in turn inspired him to put the Packers in yellow helmets. EDIT: Lombardi was never with the Browns. I’m pretty sure their look inspired Green Bay’s, though.
  17. Who’s to say that Brady doesn’t have an offseason goal of getting seven STDs simultaneously and going seven days before seeking treatment? Well, besides Giselle I guess.
  18. Socks are like Jeff Lebowski’s rug: they really tie the whole thing together.
  19. The helmet has a satin finish, right? Like the Vikings and IIRC the new Rams and Falcons? That’s exactly what satin finish is - brighter than matte and duller than gloss.
  20. Also, red socks for Houston except when they’re wearing blue jerseys. The road uniform suffered so much when they started wearing blue socks with the blue pants.
