  1. The shade of blue seems much much brighter.
  2. Having digested the Lions for a few hours, here are my thoughts: The home uniform is nice. I feel strongly the Lions should wear silver numbers. I thought it was a major bonus in their previous set. It invokes the 1930's set which is the best look they've ever had. So going back to white feels like a step back even though so much about this home design really works. The stripeless pants (white, blue, black) make me sad. They aren't aesthetically bad per se but I don't see the reason to worry about making sure the stripes all match. They don't match across every on the home uniform, so just put the appropriate stripes on every element. The black should not have come back. I don't why it's back and if bringing it back is why the blue pants have no stripes it definitely shouldn't be back. The new facemask is fine. I will miss the silver ones though. The Northwestern stripes being gone kinda bugs me. The Detroit Lions have had Northwestern stripes in some form or another since 1961 and its a little sad to see them go even if the overall look is very nice. Overall, I think this is pretty good but I'm going miss the previous set.
  3. I don’t disagree with much of this. New set is nice but the old way fit my personal preferences better
  4. My bold take, every successive Lions uniform since 2009 hasn’t been as good as the one before it.
  5. Just make the numbers on the blue jersey silver so I can stop thinking about it.
  6. The white jersey has blue numbers with blue dominant stripes while the blue jersey has white numbers with silver dominant stripes. No don't like the look of that.
  7. I think we're just going to get some white/silver inserted into the negative spaces of the Northwestern stripes and maybe a block style number.
  8. I'd love something like this. A helmet with a single bar facemask, famously invented by the Browns.
  9. Mind you in a city 7 am could easily be END of someone's work day as opposed to the beginning and lighting up is probably better than chugging a tall boy or sipping from a flask and stale booze smell bothers me a lot more than weed in public. My only issue on gambling ads is how it's changed the way people talk about sports. I hear a lot more about odds and covering in casual conversation and less about the outcome of the game or the individual performances in themselves. For the record, I feel the same way about fantasy spots. It's a weird hang up to me.
  10. Am I daft, or do those pants have a sheen to them?
  11. George Halas wasn't just the founder of the Bears. He was one of the original 1920 NFL franchisees. In a lot of ways, he helped lay the foundations of the entire League. The Bears' facility in the Northern suburbs is named Halas Hall.
  12. Not a crazy idea given the Titans color scheme.
  13. I think what caused that specific effect with the 1990 change is the addition of another color, especially one that blended into the green cut into the space previous occupied by a sharp green/white cutoff. The process made the stripes, logo, and numbers less bold then they had been in the 80's.
  14. I know this is a popular metaphor, but who the heck boils a frog? A frog is a big enough meal where you'd want to clean the guts out or cut the legs off so you'd probably just bash it against a rock as soon as you caught it. Stuff that gets cooked alive like a lobster just gets tossed into a rolling boil that kills it almost instantly. You have to be a sick puppy to do a slow boil on an animal.
  15. Not bad. Not sure if it's an upgrade but that's pretty good.
  16. That's because its an AWESOME idea.
  17. Still kinda want the Texans to have red numbers like the Color Rush uniform.
  18. Old cut of the jersey. Looks pretty cool but that might just be the Hiroyuki Sanada factor.
  19. The white facemask Vikings helmet would work exceptionally well with the current set especially in US Bank Stadium.
