I'd love something like this. A helmet with a single bar facemask, famously invented by the Browns.

I don't disagree at all, but to my point, the latter was happening regardless. I don't get needing a joint when I'm going to work on the subway at 7:00 AM (it's actually worse on the trollies for some reasons that I can only speculate about) but people gonna do what people gonna do no matter what. I'd rather invest the resources in fighting crimes that have a higher impact than on controlling the uncontrollable.
But you're right, and it sucks.
Mind you in a city 7 am could easily be END of someone's work day as opposed to the beginning and lighting up is probably better than chugging a tall boy or sipping from a flask and stale booze smell bothers me a lot more than weed in public.
My only issue on gambling ads is how it's changed the way people talk about sports. I hear a lot more about odds and covering in casual conversation and less about the outcome of the game or the individual performances in themselves.
For the record, I feel the same way about fantasy spots.
It's a weird hang up to me. -

Am I daft, or do those pants have a sheen to them?

George Halas wasn't just the founder of the Bears.
He was one of the original 1920 NFL franchisees. In a lot of ways, he helped lay the foundations of the entire League.
The Bears' facility in the Northern suburbs is named Halas Hall.- 8

To me, the Jets should always have been just a green and white team. I remember them adding the black, and it somehow looked... I don't know the right word for it, but "softer". And at the same time, the Eagles were already kelly-ish and black, and I felt like the two teams should look a little more different (not that anyone was confusing the two, given the Eagles silver pants and helmets.)
I don't know if it was BFBS considering the state of merchandising at the time - they may have simply thought it looked better or was a way to freshen up the look without any significant changes. But either way, it didn't work. The only good thing that came out of it (and this is debatable) was the green pants. I think they're unnecessary, but it's nice for them to be an option so long as they don't go full green.
I think what caused that specific effect with the 1990 change is the addition of another color, especially one that blended into the green cut into the space previous occupied by a sharp green/white cutoff.
The process made the stripes, logo, and numbers less bold then they had been in the 80's.- 1

I know this is a popular metaphor, but who the heck boils a frog?
A frog is a big enough meal where you'd want to clean the guts out or cut the legs off so you'd probably just bash it against a rock as soon as you caught it.
Stuff that gets cooked alive like a lobster just gets tossed into a rolling boil that kills it almost instantly. You have to be a sick puppy to do a slow boil on an animal.

When they go to Sacramento I think the A’s will completely drop there grey and Kelly green uniforms as well as there hats that go with each. Then they will keep there white jersey at home and the yellow jersey will come back for all road games. This would leave the A’s with 1 hat, and 2 jerseys and pants. The absolute bare minimum with no need to create anything new.
Yellow pants. Make it so.- 3

Since we're back to Texanjacking it seems, here's this. Not a leak of any kind, just some guy's concept on Instagram. But I will say the red version is kinda...interesting:

Giving me serious Delaware State vibes, but I...think I...really...like it??? (!). And now that I'm looking at this far more intensely than I should probably be legally allowed, IF the Texans were to use the light blue in this way—as a secondary to their red—I could completely see this being a potential future colorway for them. (Of course, naturally a light blue alt would pop up down the line somewhere, but still.) Funnily enough, it'd also be among the more unique looks in the league despite the individual colors themselves being quite common in pro sports.
Still kinda want the Texans to have red numbers like the Color Rush uniform.

Did we just see an intentional leak of the Dodgers new city connect?
Old cut of the jersey. Looks pretty cool but that might just be the Hiroyuki Sanada factor.

I keep hearing the "white helmet" assertion being mentioned with the Broncos new uniforms and it's not just annoying, but I almost feel closer to believing it, even without actual clear evidence. Also, five changing uniforms?
Packers finally going with metallic gold.- 1

Why do I get the feeling the blue shoulder horns extend to the nameplate on the back of the jersey?

Always fun to see Air Force in that look.
I mentioned earlier that growing up we would go to San Diego to visit my grandparents. One of the bonuses was that I got to see West Coast college football. Before most people had ESPN, if you lived East of the Mississippi, the only time you could see UCLA, Air Force, BYU, Oregon, USC was when they played a Big Ten or SEC team or Notre Dame and then always in their white jerseys,
If you travelled to the West Coast, it really was like stepping into a completely different sports world. -

I think we're just going to get some white/silver inserted into the negative spaces of the Northwestern stripes and maybe a block style number.
