  1. That retro sleeve patch is a quite a thing. The shield shape is a classic pre-WWII design. It's arguable superior than the primary.
  2. The Sox being my team, I experiment with the designs quite a lot. A lot of times I'll test something out and wind up throwing it away because the elements won't come together and mesh with the history of the team. It's hard to break free from history and experience of the team and the culture surrounding it. So this was quite refreshing.
  3. The edits are definitely an improvement. It looks outstanding now! I've always been hesitant to do a Big "S" design because I feel strongly that the gothic S-o-x has cemented its place in Chicago lore. However, bringing the Sox to Milwaukee removes that hangup. It's nice because the Big "S" design lends itself really well three color schemes whereas the gothic S-o-x leads to a one color or no color option.
  4. I really like the color scheme based on the Republican tricolor. I also think the three color design works best with a big "S" little "o" and little "x" style crest. It definitely works better than the Gothic S-o-x which is more Germanic but much more cluttered design-wise. The problem though is that the 90's Brewers font isn't translating well to the S-o-x crest. The pointed bottom on the "o" seems incongruous since it's not nestling into the crook of the "S." Moreover, the ends of the "S" should probably curve down slightly. Having them go off more or less straight lends the impression to the "S" being unfinished. A good solution would be curve the ends of the "S" inward a touch and then flip the "o" so the flat end of the "o" is opposite the mostly straight center portion of the "S" while the pointed end faces the curved end portion. The scripts are pretty nice but I would ditch the extra nubs on the numbers since the squared nubs contrast with the more pointy letters in the wordmarks.
  5. Terrific job on the Monarchs! I especially like the home script. It's a crisp look. When you have vibrant colors it becomes imperative to have a clean design template to work with. Thanks for the shout out as well!
  6. I'd absolutely go with the green/white version! My only tweak to the logo would be to drop the extra line from the tail of the "S"
  7. That Brewers set looks impossibly good. I have no comments.
  8. I really dig what's going on with the Brewers. The shade of grey/blue on the roads is perfect! The Owgust is terrific and the little hint of gold is a great callback to the Braves. One minor tweak is to shrink the tail on the script a touch. Aside from that it looks great! Side note: I was a Junior at Marquette when the whole Marquette Gold fiasco went down. I voted for Hilltoppers in the poll they ran for a new name.
  9. The Braves look great except for the Milwaukee script. It's not quite working for me and seems jumbled.
  10. I adore the walking elephant logo you've made. Especially in the forest/red color scheme. Any chance on it being front and center on an alternate jersey?
  11. The futurist Dodgers look great. Instead of Trolley Dodgers, they’re clearly Monorail Dodgers
  12. Great job cleaning up the old Brookyln script. Making one that flows well seems like an easy task but its a lot harder than it looks.
  13. I will love any Philadelphia uniform with a "PHILA" design. This might be the best I've ever seen.
  14. I don't care if its a tourist trap. I still love that bar. However, I had better just sample several Roman Coin old fashioneds for comparison.
  15. I need that sky blue jersey. Like really need it. I need it the way I need brown mustard and sauerkraut on my brat at the Old German Beer Hall on 3rd St. I need it the way I need maraschino cherries in my brandy old fashioned at the Safe House.
  16. You are absolutely correct. This set has quite a few good things going. The colors looks nice and the shoulder yoke and pants design actually work well in tandem. Moreover, the way the uniform has tended to be worn, pairing the pewter pants with a red design with red socks and the white pants with a pewter design with pewter socks meshes incredibly well. Like many of Nike's designs, its a simple case of over-embellishing an otherwise interesting core. Fix the numbers and shrink the helmet logo and they've got a modern classic.
  17. He looks like he's seeing a fat hanging curve coming in.
  18. I think its the shade of gold. Somehow to my eyes it seems a touch off. I'll also second the idea of using the tertiary as the primary. Also I'd consider keeping the red outlining on the FDL for the alternate cap as well. It looks a little bare without it.
