  1. Good. That's a really nice nod to history, and a great jersey/logo design with lots of potential. Excited to see it on the ice.
  2. As much as I like the new Yotes' alternate, it feels really weird that the cactus is only on one pant leg.
  3. The Grand Rapids Griffins wore some pretty sweet Grateful Dead themed jerseys last night.
  4. Man, that ad patch is almost as brutal as the score.
  5. I mean… Wouldn’t be the worst alternate in the league. *cough* dallas *cough*
  6. Am I the only one who thinks that jersey isn't that bad? It fits right in with the faux-retro vibe their current previous alternate had. Plus, we're getting the Fanatics brand mockup of the thing. I'm sure it'll look better once it's unveiled on the actual players.
  7. I've never been sure how popular or unpopular it is. I've seen a lot of flak get thrown at unique captain patches, so I figured I'd chime in. If you want a truly unpopular opinion, though, I'll bite. I think that this patch is actually really fun and should've stuck around longer than it did.
  8. I love weird captain/assistant captain patches on hockey jerseys. Having something more unique than a 'C' or 'A' from the normal letter kit goes a long way in making a jersey more unique and fun.
  9. Everybody laughed when they brought on some hypebeast designer to help with their brand. But these look sick. I'm excited to see the full uniform.
  10. Keep the waist stripes, ditch the phantom yoke imo. Solid design all around. Wouldn't be mad if they used any one of these.
  11. Updates based on suggestions: - Changed the Kraken's color scheme, including the striping and the crest. I like the overall look of the red better, but this is definitely more in-line with their brand. - Slightly tweaked the Kraken's gloves to match the new colors. - Made changes to the Golden Knights' crest. It felt weird putting the word "GOLDEN" in grey lettering, so I kept the overall color scheme intact. I did put the lettering in a more circular formation, though. I also tweaked the stars on the sides of the crest and added flourishes to the 'V' to make the whole thing more Vegas-y. Thoughts?
  12. Hey y'all, I've got a one-off concept for you today. With the NHL officially announcing the Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights as the teams for the 2024 Winter Classic, I decided to fire up Photoshop and try my hand at designing a jersey for each team. Let me know what you think:
  13. I'm not sure if this is necessarily unpopular, but this matchup was the best Winter Classic we've ever had, at least visually. Both teams' jerseys are absolutely gorgeous fauxbacks that seamlessly mesh hockey history from their respective cities with their current identities. On their own, the jerseys are great, but the matchup between the two was just perfect. Add in the massive crowd, the contrasting color schemes, and some face paint on the players, and you've got the most visually appealing Winter Classic yet. 2010 and 2014 are honorable mentions, though.
  14. On to the next couple teams! First up is the Dallas Stars. I really loved their Winter Classic jerseys from a few years ago, and would love to see them build on that fauxback identity. That's exactly what I did here, blending colors, logos, and striping patterns from jerseys past and present into this sharply classy uniform design. Next is the Ottawa Senators. Much like what I did for the Kings, this jersey is meant to be an idealized version of a future Sens home jersey. Gold is utilized more in the color palette, the laurel pattern makes a return, and the Peace Tower logo makes an appearance on the shoulders. Note the nod to the original Senators on the inside of the collar, too. The last jersey I have for y'all today is the Tampa Bay Lightning. This jersey found lots of inspiration in the team's old "Storm" alternates, as well as their current alternate jerseys. I wanted to incorporate the lightning from the storm jerseys in a more subtle way, and I figured this design was a good chance to do so. Take a look at the tweaked shoulder patches, too. They're a mix of multiple old secondary marks the team has used over the years. What do you guys think of these designs? Good or bad? Any tweaks I should make?
  15. Not to nitpick but I think these jerseys were pretty sweet. Otherwise, I 100% agree with you. Outside of this one jersey, the Capitals haven't looked good since 2006.
  16. Happy Monday y'all. I've got a double post for you today, with two teams included. First off is the Columbus Blue Jackets. This concept is a tweaked version of a previous Blue Jackets rebrand I designed, and therefore I didn't feel that it warranted its own post. It's a fun concept and I'd still like to see the Jackets use something like this someday. Alright, the second team I've got to post today is the Boston Bruins, who I designed a fun little fauxback for. I like the fauxback look the Bruins have taken up with their current alternate jerseys, but think they're a little too dull. These jerseys fix that, reintroducing a gold jersey to the Bruins' rotation. The tweaked B logo is borrowed from the team's 25th anniversary jerseys in 1948, and the idea to put the meth bear logo on the arms was inspired by the Bruins' uniforms in the mid-1930s. What do y'all think of these?
  17. Up next is the Los Angeles Kings! This jersey was designed to be a soft rebrand, sort of like the Kings' 2008 alternate. The Kings have had more distinctly different visual brands than most teams in the league, and this jersey tries to tie them all together while staying true to the team's current identity. The jersey crest meshes the Gretzky-era logo with the Kings' current wordmark, the sunglasses-wearing lion from the Kings' Y2K brand makes an appearance on the shoulders, and the Kings' inaugural shade of forum blue returns to the color palette. How do you feel about these?
  18. The fisherman has made his triumphant return to Long Island.
  19. The Devils are going all-in with their Reverse Retro branding and it's gorgeous.
  20. Onto the next one with the New York Islanders! This design is my attempt at Long-Islanding the team's maligned Brooklyn jerseys. The four stripes obviously stick around, but everything else is changed. The name and number font are made more traditional while still being modern, the NY logo is tweaked to the modernized version, a recolored lighthouse finds a home on the shoulders, and the overall color scheme is changed to match the team's brand. I played around with using blue and white versions of this jersey, but I liked how the orange popped against the blue, so I stuck with it. Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?
  21. The Flames vs. Coyotes uniform matchup last night got me feeling some type of way...
