  1. Hey guys... I've been wanting to ask this question for a little while now. I want to be a sports designer but of course, I'm sure a lot of you know how hard it is to break into the industry. I know it's important to seek out projects on your own, and I thought I had found one. A semi pro football league, in my area, is in desperate need of new logos. Some of the teams are even using logos of pro teams, but with different colors. I wanted to reach out to them, but on their web page they have a small ad/ link to the website for their 'graphic designer'. How much does he really do for the league? I'm not sure. So I ask you this: Is it inappropriate for me to contact this league and inquire about design even though they seem to have someone? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I would love to tackle a huge project like that. Thanks for the help! Hope I explained the situation well enough.
  2. I wonder how much say Russell has in this as well... It's my thought, that the Front Office/ Board of Directors are making these decisions. Usually they don't have designers on board at teams this small, or they have someone who is self taught (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) or doesn't have a great sense of design, but is the only guy in the building who knows photoshop. I've seen a lot of awful things come from places like that. I can't imagine that Rusell would sink that low when their competition is Nike and Under Armour. I would like to think that this is where they would want to showcase something different and unique, but I guess I'm wrong. Or just have wishful thinking.
  3. Digging the 'Classic Road Uniform' they posted on Twitter. Black Helmet, White Jerseys, Black Pants. Also like the all White 'Stormtrooper' version they posted. It looks good all put together.
  4. I really love this project. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing the rest of it. I just wanted to make sure, I saw a comment about having all the helmets face the same way? On the first page they all face right and the other two pages they face left. I was thinking maybe you could switch them every chapter? So your first chapter would face right, the second would face left, and so on. Just to change it up a bit. I dunno. Just throwing it out there.
  5. They used to have players on the inside. Now it only says "The brown stays the same"Ah yes, thank you for your witty comment, but it didn't help answer my question, so I sought it out myself. The inside of their jersey says 'Dawg Pound' which seems a bit pointless, and just a selling point. Obviously Nike is trying to make a trend of it. It's called the "hanger effect". It's been a trend for a while, I think it started in the NBA and other teams started copying it. Thank you. I have a Winter Classic jersey that has the date in that place and I like that because has significance in the overall design of the jersey. I think it kind of sucks to add to a college jersey just to create an extra selling point.

  7. I've noticed a lot of teams are adding sayings on the inside collar of their jerseys. Didn't the Browns new jerseys have something on the inside? Do you really think this is as much for the players, or as a selling point for Nike? I know that some of those things are tradition, but how important is that really to some of the players? Also, I hate the backwards Las Vegas, almost as much as I hate the backwards Nike symbol.... It still bugs me.
  8. I really like the placement of elements on the uniforms and also the numbers. I feel like, even if they would have used a dark Blue as the stripe along the side and for the sock/shoe would have worked better as opposed to the Black and Volt colors.
