  1. The Lions look fantastic. Honolulu blue and silver look the best when the combo is free of any other colors that could drag it down. Only thing about the home/road sets I will nitpick is the inconsistency of the chest wordmark, but that's something I can more than live with. I'm not big on the black alternate, it just feels like every team with a redesign is getting one now. I almost wonder if they are forced to due to some NFL policy on needing an alternate/third uniform in the rotation. I hope the blue helmet is tweaked to fit with it because it needs that extra pop of color. Just switch the logo and the gray facemask for a black one. That Texans leaked helmet is interesting. Don't know if I love it or hate it yet, and probably won't until I see what its paired with. I can safely say though that I don't think we've seen anything quite like that H logo in the NFL before.
  2. Looks like a pretty convincing leak came out for the Broncos, but I'm not sure if its actually legit. Metallic royal blue helmet, silver facemask, orange throwback jersey. Would line up with rumors about a throwback look too. As for the Jets, no complaints from me. They made the changes they needed to keep the look fresh and new. The small tweaks to the logo make a huge difference.
  3. Supposedly Mississippi State switched from the block M to the State script as the primary back in January. While I like the logo, the switch to just "State" reminds me of what Dr. Pepper does with its Fansville ads...
  4. The new logo says "tubl" to me. Not really sure why they went with a change here.
  5. Some of the color choices especially are a little confusing. Colombia in orange? Sweden with cyan and pink? Mexico in dark red and whatever that green color is? Spain in fluorescent pale yellow? Germany in pink and purple? Only ones I really like from the set so far are the Argentina and Spain homes. And yes, I know there is historical precedent for Mexico's primary color choice, but it doesn't change the fact that the design is utterly hideous.
  6. Justin Simmons is the latest casualty of what might be another long offseason for the Broncos... The ride never ends. Thanks George Paton.
  7. I'm gonna go off on a tangent here that will make me seem like a conspiracy theorist, but what if the NFL/Nike's prerogative is to design bad/mediocre uniforms on purpose so that they can turn around, pull them 5 years later, and milk more money from fans with a new, more popular set? It's happening with the Jets and Lions where they introduced generally mixed or unpopular uniforms, only to scrap them relatively early on in their lifespan in favor of more fan-favorite looks (i.e. Jets' modern "collegiate" look to the "Sack Exchange" throwback uniforms). The last couple of redesigns from the Cardinals and Commanders seem like they may be set up for the same fate. There have been rumors swirling around the Titans too, although its for sure not gonna happen this year. The reason why I say this is because if the description of the Broncos uniforms that we have seen is legit, I can imagine some fans just liking it anyway, as is always the case with something new and fresh, but there will be a lot of visible discontent. In general, the white-heavy look seems gimmicky and overdone, especially with the obnoxious "icey fresh" jargon we have seen with the color in football in recent years. The Broncos did a fan survey at the beginning of this process, and I can tell you without even looking at the results that they were in no way reflective of what they have (allegedly) decided to go with, just knowing as a Broncos fan myself. Seems like its a ripe opportunity to get fans to cash in on the early hype with a trendy new set, have them grow old of it quickly, and then bring back a throwback look full time to rake in even more money. It's easier to convince fans to get new jerseys if they are actually a new product, and not just carried over to a new brand or template. I don't want to rush to conclusions just because we haven't seen what the Broncos new uniforms will look like, but given recent design trends and how they've been received, it just seems like Nike and the NFL have found a way to get fans to spend more on jerseys through planned obsolescence. And again, this may all just be all crazy talk, but there has to be an explanation for all the new designs that we already know will be outdated and tired within a few years.
  8. Meh, I just feel like this is just more marketing talk. It's a white jersey, of course it will be easy to paint on, just like any white jersey (or really any jersey, let's be honest). And here's the ironic part: the pattern that is featured on the cuffs and side panels isn't even unique, it's actually been used previously on a Juventus pre-match shirt. Seems kind of hypocritical for a shirt that claims to promote creativity.
  9. IMO there's a lot of not so good, but the highs this year are home runs for the most part. 1- Ferrari: The addition of yellow this year is tasteful and adds a new wrinkle that doesn't feel out of place. 2- RB: From an initial look on-track, the metallic blue and silver really pop. Of course, I might have been a little fond of the old Toro Rosso liveries too. 3- Aston Martin: I've always loved the metallic green color that AM uses. A little more black than I would like, but still nice. 4- McLaren: Again, more black than I would like, the but use of the Papaya orange is nice here. 5- Mercedes: I want to like the silver to black gradient more, but I don't. Might need some time for the look to settle in for me. I do not like how the INEOS sponsor takes away from the look they seem to be going for. 6- Red Bull: At least you know what you're getting with Red Bull. Would like that navy in a metallic shade or brightened up a bit. 7- Williams: I like the fuller presence of blue, but I think that there are a few better looks out there. Feels like its missing a second, bolder color to help make the design pop. 8- Haas: Nothing really stands out about this look, but at least the sponsor blends with the color scheme. Too bad it will most likely end up at the back of the grid most of the time. 9- Alpine: I love the graphic identity they used, and the blue and pink work well together here... unfortunately they decided to shove it in the far corners of a black-heavy car. Would have rather seen it executed like other Alpine racing teams did. 10- Kick/Sauber: A majority black car and a shade of green that looks like glowing nuclear waste... a combination that falls short of what an F1 car should look like.
  10. FC Dallas, I'm sorry, but... Seattle is also just looking way off. Too many light colors trying to play off each other, and all the white accents on the collar, Adidas stripes, and cuffs just don't help it in any way. Looks more like a striped polo your oddball, golf-loving uncle would wear to an Easter service. The return of the red w/ white band for the Chicago Fire and the pinstripes for LAFC might be some of the best looking from what we have seen so far IMO.
  11. Seconded, but I guess that it the rest of the pack just trying anything to catch up with Red Bull. Nevertheless, it really drains the field of color and vibrancy. Off the top of my head, Stake/Sauber, Alpine, McLaren, Haas, and likely Mercedes all heavily lean on black. They will pass it off as a "cool" color, but with all these different accent colors in the field, its a shame that they aren't featured more. All of those teams I've mentioned have had some great looks in the past too. But they've drained so much of the life they once had out of them.
  12. Between the awful over-corporatized name (with a sports betting and gambling company, no less ), and the obnoxious shade of green, I'll say just about any other livery being revealed this year will run circles around Sauber. That looks does not do it for me. Looks super cheap and amateurish, like it doesn't belong in the so-called most historic and highest-level racing competition in the world. On the bright side, at least no one will mistake them for being Stake/Kick/Sauber/whatever name they decided to go with. I don't know if its the way they edited the graphic or if that is how the car actually looks, but that shade of green does not look remotely realistic. It looks so oversaturated.
  13. It amazes me how every single new Islanders look that has been released in the past half-decade or so is completely devoid of any character. It's like they have a checklist that every new look be basic and in navy and orange. I'm almost impressed by how hard they are trying. Like seriously, the Stadium Series is one thing, but how in the world do you mess up a Fisherman-era Reverse Retro uniform as bad as they did? As an aside, here's how I would rank the Stadium Series looks this year: 1- Rangers 2 - Devils 3 - Flyers 4 - Islanders
  14. I've always had an opinion that if a team wants to go back to wearing a throwback look full-time, it needs to come with some updates, even if they are small. The Sack Exchange uniforms need to keep the metallic green helmets, and IMO need an updated number font. Nothing too fancy or outlandish, but something to help these uniforms feel more modern.
  15. I don't hate it, actually. It's giving me vibes from the nature theming that Adidas ran with for the 2023 Women's World Cup. The Timbers might end up with the best looking set of kits for the upcoming season.
  16. Eh, I don't think it's something to look into. Looks like it's just one of those Riddell fashion helmets. Seems to fool a lot of people in similar situations with other teams. https://shop.miamidolphins.com/miami-dolphins-unsigned-riddell-flash-alternate-revolution-speed-authentic-football-helmet/p-26246602059797+z-9852-2478547847
  17. I've been thinking a little bit on the Seahawks uniform "leak", and while I'm not hanging my hat on anything until we see an actual product, I don't think that the description is too unrealistic, considering that their Lumen Field roommates the Sounders recently changed to a similar set of colors. Don't know if that would be a coincidence or something planned, but it's just something that came to mind.
  18. Take this with a grain of salt, but Wikipedia seems to have venues pegged for each team. Couldn't really find anything official, but I would imagine that this would be at least somewhat accurate for most of the teams. Boston Cannons: Gillette Stadium (NE Patriots/Revolution) Maryland Whipsnakes: Homewood Field (Johns Hopkins) New York Atlas: Shuart Stadium (Hofstra) Philadelphia Waterdogs: Subaru Park (Phila Union) California Redwoods: PayPal Park (SJ Earthquakes) Carolina Chaos: American Legion Memorial Stadium (Charlotte Independence/Hounds) Denver Outlaws: Barton Stadium (Denver Pioneers) Utah Arrows: Zions Bank Stadium (Real Monarchs/Utah Warriors)
  19. That centered logo format paired with a plain shirt is not good. Doubly so with the enlarged Adidas logo. Such a shame, that shade of pink looks pretty good.
  20. For what it's worth, what can be considered to look "professional" in any sport has become a thing of the past (for example: more monocolor looks and new alternate helmets in American football, no more home/road designations in the NBA, more teams using non-gray jerseys on the road in the MLB). I don't mind the look, I think colored helmets can look good on the right white sweaters, and I don't really notice anything "less professional" about it other than it's not what the status quo is. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing some triple mismatch here and there on some teams. As an admission, I liked the general look of the uniforms when the Kings wore chrome domes. Sure, it was a bit too flashy, but the color balance worked well, and IMO looked better than white black or white helmets could achieve for the look.
  21. As sad as I am to see the unique Chrome brand go away, I am stoked to see the Denver Outlaws back! Glad they kept a lot of the same branding elements too.
  22. Ah yes, they are debuting this against... Nebraska. Well, it's a solid look, but the wrong team to wear it against. It's almost going to look like a team scrimmage out there. Would have liked to have seen Black/White/Black instead.
  23. Watching the games tonight, I almost wonder if the prominence of black in this year's City editions was the result of the NBA's decisions regarding the In-Season tournament. Knowing that there would be a multitude of colored courts, perhaps the reliance on black was recommended by the NBA to the teams/Nike in order to help visibility. Not that it matters, the games still aren't easy to watch.
  24. Even so, the Carabao Cup still includes other leagues outside of the Premier League. It has the purpose of crowning the best team in the top 4 flights of English soccer/football. The In-Season Tournament has no other involvement from other leagues, and really has no purpose. If it's to crown the best NBA team, well there's a playoffs for that. Lower-tier teams think it a big deal? perhaps, but at the same time, the way that fan reactions are trending, it really won't matter. It's a low-stakes tournament that simply disrupts the flow of the season. There's no real reason to win it than to just have an asterisk next your name that may end up meaning a whole lot of nothing down the road IMO.
  25. Their mistake is that they are trying to emulate things like the Champions League. Nobody really cares about this because there’s nothing different. It’s the same teams in the same season, just with extra steps that don’t really mean anything. The NBA Cup will always be secondary to the Finals. As for the courts, nothing really needs to be said outside of I can’t imagine any of those looking even remotely good. There’s a reason that courts aren’t treated like how Boise State treats their blue turf. It just doesn’t look natural.
