  1. The NBA released this very colorful teaser and the first thing that comes to mind is potentially the special uniforms for the In-Season Tournament. I do remember them saying something about special sets for it. It kicks off November 3rd, so they would have to be revealed soon. There are people saying the NBA are teasing the City Editions dropping, but usually it's done on a team-by-team basis, not as a league-wide release. Besides, many of the colors here don't line up with the looks that were leaked. We will see what it is come Monday though.
  2. Pels: Seems like something ghost/voodoo inspired. Feels nice to have something other than Mardi Gras, and the color scheme is nice, but they went way too restrained with it. Could have been so much more. Wizards: Needs to drop a color or two. There's way too much going on. Nuggets: That might be the single worst jersey I've ever seen this franchise roll out. Why is it black? Why the half-baked skyline look? And why is there a massive "5280" across the front? I can't even tell which number is the player number! All around just an absolutely awful look that embodies every reason why I hate Nike's take on the City program. Denver, and Colorado in general, have so much to be inspired from, so it's near insulting for the most recent NBA champions to be trotting out in this. Just horrible.
  3. Watching some Nuggets highlights, and it seems the court has a slight change where the hardwood has more color variation in between each of the individual strips. Some are darker, some are lighter. Results in a pretty cool/unique aesthetic, something a little more natural. Here is last year's for comparison. Note the more consistent finish. And I don't believe that this is just a lighting thing.
  4. An unfortunate occurrence in Ames this past weekend as Iowa State's Jack Trice uniforms, between the horrible baggy undershirt trend and the... unique color pants, looked more like miniskirts than an actual proper football uniform. I know we have rehashed this conversation a couple of times already, but this baggy undershirt fad is just stupid. Not only does it really serve any real practical purpose beyond looking like the players are too lazy to put on their uniform fully, but it just looks awful, doubly so here. I just wish it would end, but it just keeps growing.
  5. We might all be tired of the constant CU Buffs coverage (well, I would say a good chunk at least), but they may have come out with one of the coolest helmets of the season. Gloss black plus a nice little taste of chrome gold that doesn't overdo it. Wearing this with white jerseys and black pants at Arizona State tonight.
  6. I think there is a simple way to solve this City edition issue without getting rid of them: -Prioritize the City/Community aspect of the idea. Draw more creative ideas from local culture/monuments/events/artists/etc. Soccer teams are able to do this and release (for the most part) very unique looks each year that don't often get old quickly. The same can be done here. -Require City uniforms to be worn for a minimum of 3 years. They've done it with a couple of popular looks, but this could help prevent the brain drain that happens when the assignment is to just put together something for fans to get for the holidays or for collectors to spend their money on. Build the rapport and legacy that these uniforms deserve, as there are some that are deserving of the all-time classic spot (Utah arches, Miami vice, Denver skylines, etc.). The NBA prides itself more than ever on its influence on fashion/streetwear, this would only get stronger by giving uniforms the needed time for them to settle into the pop culture world and become iconic. Long story short, don't scrap every uniform after a year, and require teams and Nike to try to tell more meaningful stories in their uniforms and encourage locally-minded creativity as the edition name suggests. DON'T make this about trying to force more money out of the fans by releasing half-cooked, low effort looks each year.
  7. Why is Nike/The NBA so obsessed with black/navy/white for city looks? When these were introduced, I was under the impression that these uniforms would be the most unique ones in a team's set. In just a matter of years, the creativity with these (outside of maybe the mixtapes we got a couple of years ago) have nosedived. It feels like they are just phoning them in at this point in most cases, just so they can get another jersey out to make money from and for collectors to buy. Washington, San Antonio, and maybe Indiana might be the only ones the intrigue me right now, but I'm desensitized at this point. It's hard to care much for a fun new uniform when I know it will only be carried for less than a season then never mentioned again.
  8. Yeah, but haven't ya heard? Black is such a cool color! Everyone wants to wear it! - 90% of American football teams in the mid to late 2010s (including my high school football team who changed to wear it as the primary home uniform). Don't want to seem presumptuous, but it seems outside of this random black obsession from Adidas this year, we've mostly bucked the BFBS trend, or it isn't as big as it used to be.
  9. Even just an off-white outline around the logo would have worked wonders here. Not a bad look though.
  10. It looks like the Beavs may be going orange for the game this week, and they have teased a new helmet as well.
  11. Wouldn't be as big a deal if they changed the helmet stripes (or got rid of them entirely) but alas, here we are.
  12. The turnaround from "I love golllddd" to having no gold in sight is hilarious and slightly irritating, especially considering that gold is such a key part of CU's brand. The matchup against Nebraska is going to look all the worse for it. CU/Nebraska in Boulder should always be Gold/Black/Gold vs White/White/Red.
  13. Seems like the Dallas uniforms from the last few years made an impact. Looks good except for the odd red belt. Throws the whole look off.
  14. I wonder, given the surprise nature of the Buffs' uniforms today, will we see them styled similarly to how Jackson State was under Deion? Multiple new jerseys/styles over the course of the season? The new set today wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be, especially in regard to number visibility. I suppose the black outlines helped with that.
  15. Deion Sanders having the Buffs trot out in *reflective* gold-trimmed whiteout uniforms.
  16. Might be nitpicking here, but it looks like the Huskers have thinner stripes on this new template than previously. It just looks off. Makes the jersey look emptier. For reference, new on top, old on bottom.
  17. I'm sorry but these are just... not good. It looks like some bad streetwear, not a proper kit, (which I guess is what they wanted to accomplish, but the point remains). Also, that makes 2 MLS third kits that are black with a graffiti/street art inspired. And neither look really feels good IMO, but I guess it gets over with the intended crowd.
  18. The Huskers unveiled their new locker room, and the associated video seems to confirm that Nebraska will be one of the teams to wear the new Adidas template on their base uniforms.
  19. Fantastic work, both on your designs and on the new template. It's always great seeing the work you put out!
  20. Not able to post any images at the moment, but Stanford looks to have dropped the black outlines around the numbers. A slight, but very good improvement. The little amount of black on there felt so out of place.
  21. The "shadow"/black uniform is a bit redundant for a school that wears a darker shade of green primarily, but the overall look is pretty nice. I don't really have any complaints. Like it or not, Nike has pretty much hit it out of the park with all of their new designs, with a handful of exceptions (UCF and Cincinnati have been the only misses so far IMO). Florida State, Oklahoma State, Cal, Michigan State, Illinois, WKU, Ohio State... all of them will look pretty good this season. Just wish these were all on the old template instead of the FUSE.
  22. Not surprised with no new uniform, if the Broncos are indeed getting new ones next year. No need to rush it. Could see this helmet being a one-year thing. The helmet/uniform itself is fine. The helmet feels like it’s there just because they can. It matches the throwback style, so it at least looks at home somewhat (unlike the Saints’ attempt). It’s just hard to get excited about it. It’s not bad, just… boring? White helmets and “iced-out” branding is just so overplayed nowadays.
  23. Wasn't expecting the shoulder stripes treatment for Illinois, but not really any major complaints here. Maybe a bit similar to Syracuse, but it could be a lot worse. It's been a solid year for Nike so far , at least in the CFB realm.
  24. Throw in the red/yellow color scheme and the cheap looking rebrand and yeah, the jokes just write themselves.
  25. All I can think of for the jersey is Nebraska, but in maroon. Pretty underwhelmed here. I thought they had a good thing going by having gray in the color palette. Glad the Sather Stripe is staying! It's a great signature element that doesn't need to be changed. I think the Vapor FUSE template downgrades the look, but other than that, no complaints.
