The undershirts sticking out make no sense from a performance standpoint. You're just more liable to be grabbed and more liable for a holding penalty. You're basically manipulating the game, it's like doctoring a baseball or something.

Apparently the Celtics wanted parquet on their tournament court but the NBA said no.

So last week I was seeing players slipping on the tournament courts, now this week the courts have the wrong three point lines and the Mavs couldn't even use theirs. More proof this whole idea was dumb.

CBS for Super Bowl XLVII in 2013. NBC did for the first time for Super Bowl LII in 2018, and FOX for the first time for Super Bowl LIV in 2020. Beforehand, they would just show up randomly once the preseason started every few years.
It wasn't really new but NBC had some special fluff in 1998.

The Jaguars 90s themed game is next Sunday. Could Jacksonville be giving us a throwback?
No. We would have known by now.
We will probably get the classic endzones and old logo at midfield and if we're lucky maybe the old logo on the helmet but swapping the helmet decal would be goofy.

In NBA 2K24 it seems that the 2002 Denver Nuggets have a glitch where the red and blue paint has disappeared and in it's place is darker wood. Reminds me of the Grizzlies in that era and it looks kinda cool.
In my brain the Nuggets decided to screw around in my current Sonics franchise, after all the Hornets stayed in Charlotte and the Grizzlies stayed in Memphis.
By the way, every All-Star Game uniform up to 2018 is in the game so whatever year you play in they will be accurate. The court designs are a problem though, it's generic enough though. I suspect that would be too much of a task to get all the ASG courts. The jerseys are enough.

I have no idea where this narrative that nobody like the Jets green comes from. Everyone seemed happy they switched.
In fact, I think the 80s/90s green was much lighter than the current version.

This is disgraceful. Stop listening to young players who have no knowledge or common sense about what looks good. And maybe stop wearing white at home for night games.
Teams should listen to it's players on most matters. The Jets are in shambles, let them find something good within themselves here. You may not like it but sometimes this stuff is bigger than "I wanna wear X." Look good, feel good, play good. That's the mentality.
If they feel good then whatever, as long as it's doing the job for them mentally.

I tried to watch some of the tournament games and I really tried to give it a chance because I'm open minded but the courts are too much on the eyes and it made me feel like I wasn't even watching the NBA. They had no reason to go this far and build 30 new courts, they could've saved their money and time by using court decals and using broadcast graphics instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. The popular pushback to decals is "Players slip" but they didn't have a problem with this for over 20 years.

Tonight is the night where everyone realizes just how badly the NBA has jumped the shark. Seeing these courts in action right now on League Pass and I can honestly say this is one of the worst decisions I've ever seen made in any of the Big Four sports.

City uniforms this year are a big case of "Don't judge the leak" if I've ever seen one. Lakers is nice, the Rockets "Dunkstronaut" is amazing, Pelicans look nice and the "Skelican" is genius, there's various others that I can comment on but I'm too lazy to.
Sometimes you gotta see the full execution.

A lengthy explanation, but this 100% sums up throwback uniforms.
He pretty much summed up how I feel. When people say "It should be full time" I often wonder if they literally mean the exact look because that's not going to fly. Do I want the Bucs to wear orange more? Sure but how about we put orange with the current pewter look? How about the Eagles create a new kelly green look? The Browns went back to their classic look but you know what they did? They modified the look. That's what you should do. You wanna go forwards not backwards with aesthetics.

Know who else doesn’t like numbers on shorts? Nike. The Heat equipment staff has to put the numbers on the players’ shorts themselves.
QuoteYou haven’t seen numerals on an NBA short in probably 40 to 50 years.
It wasn't that long ago man...

Fans: Let's put emphasis on the Playoffs and Finals again! Put the logos on the court!
Adam Silver: Best I can do is just make you have a Purple and Yellow Lakers floor in November.- 3

Normally I would be excited about unveilings and stuff but this In Season Tournament stuff is just really annoying me. I'm sure I will like some of the stuff but it's just so... I don't know, the NBA is evolving in a way that I don't even really recognize anymore from the uniforms, the ads, to various other things. The evolution of Basketball is turning into some weird circus sideshow.

I sure do love sockjacking. What a great word. Nothing suspicious about it at all.

Sigh. Would have liked to see orange pants in this one. At least it isn't white pants.
Seahawks: Let's pick the Browns for a throwback game, it will look old school enough and fit the old AFC theme! This will be great!
Browns: SOMEONE SAY HALLOWEEN??? BROWN PANTS BABY!!!
If you're the Cleveland Browns then making smart decisions is very hard.

A nice surprise to see the Seahawks breaking the throwbacks out for a second game. Here's hoping the Eagles get a third throwback game in particularly on Christmas in my opinion.

Local NBA graphics update over here. Didn't bother posting the Space City Home Network because it's just the AT&T Sportsnet graphics, Spurts and Clippers air some games on local network TV but it uses the Bally Sports graphics.
Here's the Suns on Arizona's Family Sports (Notice it's shaped like the Suns logo):
Wizards on Monumental Sports Network:
And here is the Jazz on KJZZ:

NBA on TNT changed the network logo to say TNT Sports for some reason. They've kept variations of this graphics package for way too long at this point and it's starting to annoy me.

People talk about how weird NBA uniforms are now but I'm remembering that this dates back to 2006 when they had teams playing in Europe for a few years they gave them special uniforms with the countries flag and colors. The photos below are just a few examples of how weird and stupid it got.

I really appreciate that NBC added to the throwback vibe. This should be mandatory for networks in all sports.

2023 NFL Season week by week uniform match-up combos: From HOF Game to Super Bowl LVIII

I honestly have to give the Cardinals credit. They debuted a new uniform and are sticking with it quite literally. It may not be what we want but the consistency in keeping the same combos is kinda nice? I'm sure they are doing what the Falcons did in Year 1 of their new set and just getting the "default look" into everyones brains then they finally do combos in Year 2.
