  1. Thank you! Fair point, I certainly agree with you. That was the one worry I had when making this, was that the little marks would get lost with smaller sizes. But I also felt that it didn't look like an ocelot without them really. In your opinion, are there any marks that I could remove without damaging the look?
  2. This concept here is a little bit old, but I plan on posting a few logos over the course of the next few days that I've uploaded elsewhere, but not here. First off, we have a random ocelot logo that I created a while back. It was a rather spur of the moment thing, so I don't really have much backstory behind it. I just simply wanted to make a logo of an animal that is rather underrepresented in sports. When I created this logo, I did some digging to see if any college or sports team used an ocelot as a mascot. I came across a university in Texas that did indeed use an ocelot, UTB: Here's a version with the UTB colors: That's all I got for now, your feedback is appreciated
  3. I've always thought the Jets logo has been rather....well, bland. I'd dare say that it's one of the most boring logos in the entirety of the league, with the exception of the Browns. That being said, I don't necessarily mind simplicity in a logo. But, in my opinion, the Jets logo is a bit too simple. I believe they could have come up with an updated logo that's slightly more interesting than a generic wordmark and a football, while still retaining simplicity and team identity. So, I got to brainstorming, and thought of how to update the logo. I knew I wanted to incorporate a jet somehow, but I didn't want anything that's too similar to some other redesign concepts. So I decided to attempt to create a wordmark that loosely resembles a jet. After a few revisions, this was the final concept I came up with: That being said, I'm still not completely satisfied with this logo. I'm concerned that it doesn't look enough like a jet. I want it to be subtle, but not too subtle. It took me a long time to work out this final version, ha. Anyways, your feedback and thoughts are appreciated. And if anyone has any ideas on how to improve this concept, don't hesitate to let me know.
  4. First off, thank you for your service and the good wishes I’m glad that they come across that way, that was my intention. I enlisted as a 19 Kilo (M1 Armored Crewman/Tanker), so I’ll be going to Fort Benning. They only just recently moved armor training to there, to my knowledge they do not offer BCT at Ft. Knox anymore.
  5. Long time no post, eh? Sorry this post isn't logo related, ha. Quip aside, I just recently enlisted in the US Army (just yesterday in fact!), and I knew going into it that there was going to be a lot of things to memorize before OSUT (A variant of Basic Training). So, I set out to find cool images to help me memorize stuff, i.e. the Soldier's Creed, General Orders, etc., because I tend to memorize things more quickly if there's an image attached to it. But unfortunately, most of the stuff that I found on Google just looked outdated and not pleasing to the eye. So I took it upon myself to create a few poster/wallpaper like designs. The first one I did, and the one I'm most proud of, is a poster of the Soldier's Creed: Second, is the LDRSHIP acronym: ^I kind of modeled the style of this one on some graphics the Army's social media often posts. Next, are the General Orders: I'm not too happy with this one, to be honest. I feel like it's lacking in a sense, and I had a really tough time putting together typefaces for this one. So if anyone has advice on how I could improve it if I gave it a next go around, or even font suggestions, feel free to shoot your shot. Next, we have an enlisted rank and insignia poster: Technically, it's missing one rank (Private [PV1][E-1] ), but because that rank does not have an insignia, I didn't feel like it included. Lastly, is a little graphic for the Army's semi-official (or just official? I'm not entirely sure, so don't take my word for it) song: And now for a bonus round, I have some graphics for the phonetic alphabet, and the military Code of Conduct. I wanted to include these, but not with the others, as I only really spiced them up with a background. Excluding that, the rest of the design for these are not my work: That's all for now, your thoughts are appreciated : )
  6. A local highschool down in PA is using a ripped version of Fraser Davidson's Redskins logo as their main mascot: Davidson's work for comparison: I know they're selling merch with this stolen/tweaked logo on it as well, but I can't find any images to back that up. Have seen it while going to games though.
  7. Honestly, if the lines were thicker, this wouldn't be a terrible rendition.
  8. Dang, that’s rough. I’ve only been able to see the San Antonio game though, so I can’t really speak for the whole league. I suppose I should rephrase that. There have been a decent amount of penalties in this game too, but not on the same level as the NFL. There have been some very handsy players on the defense, and I have yet to see a pass interference call. Same thing with the Mike sack. Albeit a nice hit, I guarantee you that would have either been called as roughing the passer or helmet to helmet contact if it had been the same play in the NFL. I guess what I’m trying to get at is, I think the AAF is trying to be more offense centric, so some things that could be called, aren’t.
  9. Does anyone else find it ironic that the AAF eliminated the kickoff to make the game quote, “safer”, and then Mike B. gets his helmet blasted off with no flags whatsoever ? Definitely interesting how lacking in penalties this game is, I kind of like that.
  10. I was just thinking the same thing. There weren’t any teams that were tied to cities I’m loyal to, so I went with San Diego as my team of choice (What can I say? That branding is slick). But needless to say, before this game even started I checked out the roster and was not at all happy to see he was the starting QB. I knew that, being the league the AAF is, of course we wouldn’t be getting cream of the crop players, but my god, Mike is notorious for turnovers. Aside from a few good passes, he hasn’t really shown that he’s moved on from that at all. It’s still early though, so I suppose I shouldn’t be too hard on him. At least he can take hard hits to the helmet, unlike Brady
  11. I agree with you on most of your points, but I don't think the Bucs' uniform, (however hideously garish in my eyes), is as ugly as the Jags' mustard vomit color rush Or the worst alt, if not jersey ever imo, the Steelers' Bumblebee alts:
  12. Seeing as this thread keeps getting bumped, I figured it wouldn't hurt to do a request I know the font isn't the best, I'm not the greatest at making custom typefaces, nor tracing old ones.
  13. Hello to you all again! I’m pleased to announce that I am returning from a long hiatus from this site. I must admit that full time work has gotten the best of me, but recently I found a little down time to do some design work Now on to the concept. Recently, I decided to attempt to redesign an awful logo set that belongs to a local highschool, the Selinsgrove Seals. I’ve done these types of threads in the past, and hopefully, if I can find the time to do so, I might try to tackle some more local high schools. I might even take requests and do jersey overhauls as well. But for now, I will simply be presenting logos. Selingsgrove has about three logos they use the most, two for athletics, and one for the school in general. To start off, I did the school logo. Here is the original: I wanted to create a more original monogram. Looking at various seal silhouettes, I discovered by rotating a swimming seal by a few degrees, it looked like it formed the top curve of a “s”. So in my preliminary sketch, I took that idea and ran with it: My digital version didn’t change much from the sketch, I mainly just cleaned up the edges and tried to make the s ends match more evenly: Based on this logo, I also came up with these few logo/word mark combos: Now onto the sport logo overhaul. The Seals seem to alternate between these two options: In my opinion, neither of them look very seal like. The bottom one is almost reminiscent of a bird, at least that’s what I thought when I first saw it The main thing I wanted to bring out in my design was a clear seal likeness, or at least a better attempt at it. I also wanted to create a sleek, modern logo that would look good in multiple different applications. To save time, I created a logo progression chart to show my work from the sketch to the final concept: Throughout the process, I realized the head was a bit too catlike, and large (not thin enough) compared to my reference. So over time I tried to slim it down and adjust line weight. You’ll probably notice about half way through I adjusted the color scheme as well. I couldn’t find the right balance with trying to incorporate more red, so I reverted to a color scheme that was more similar to the original logo. In the end, here are the final results in application: Just to “seal” the set, I also came up with a quick color sheet: That’s all I have for now, my apologies for this novel of a post Your critiques/comments are welcome and appreciated.
  14. Aha, I see what you mean there Thank you, that's what I was going for! I didn't realize they had Madden for mac. That's cool though! Always glad to meet a fellow Madden player. Thank you, I'm glad to be back on it! I would certainly be happy to let you use the custom teams. The configuration/images for the custom teams are the same across all Madden PC platforms, so you should be able to get my images ingame no problem as long as you know how to do it. If you don't, I'd be willing to help you out. That's the idea Thank you, I'm glad you like them so much!
  15. I think it's about time this thread dedicated to updating logos got updated
  16. Excuse me, but where did you learn how to ask for favors ? No one, especially @ren69, is obligated to "do this" just because you want it done. People have lives you know, and jobs, and families, and whatever. You get my point. This thread has been kind of dead for a while too now, so I'm not sure if he'll get to it. Even if he does, you need to be patient and improve your attitude. Asking in the way you did makes people less inclined to do what you want. Heck, I know I wouldn't want to do it for you if you addressed me like that.
  17. And just when you thought mcrosby’s Vikings logo couldn’t get any better, it did. Absolutely beautiful work.
  18. Boy, has it been a while since I last updated this. I'm proud to present the next team in this series, the Lions! (Or whatever you would choose to call them, considering there's already 1 Lions team in Madden ) I might have gone a little overboard with the shading, but overall, I'm really happy with how this one turned out. I've really been taking mental notes and looking at how some really great sports designers make their logos, and I've been trying to constantly improve my work. I feel like I'm getting a little better with each logo I put out I utilized every single color from the old lion's palette, while adding a darker blue outline to balance things out. Your critique/feedback/whatever is welcome!
  19. I'm so annoyed I haven't been able to get my stuff done in time to enter Oh well, I love seeing everyone else's work regardless. Congrats to the winners!
  20. Yes, everything is alright! I apologize for the wait, I've been busy with school and logolympiad, and needless to say this topic has kind of been on hold for a while. I'll have to start work on it again sometime soon, thank you for your patience
  21. Long time no post eh? Well I recently revisited this concept, and tried to implement the critique and improve the old griffin. So here's the old vs new! Basically I moved the wings up, tried to make the highlights uniform, and made the lines thicker and bolder. Let me know what you guys think!
  22. Would we be allowed to use a different shade of a color in the team's color scheme for highlighting/shadowing?
