  1. I don't live in NE Ohio anymore, but my understanding has always been that it's the overarching name for all of the nature preserves/reservations, public parks, beaches, zoo, golf courses, etc in the Cleveland area. I get the connection since Cleveland has always be called "Forest City" but the light blue and tan don't make me think of any park I've ever been to in the area. Dark green and tan would have made more sense.
  2. At the end of the day the NBA is a business and businesses all want to make as much money as possible and make their customers happy. Are they going to sacrifice profits just because some uniform nerds like us might get mad on the internet? I can't speak for all fanbases, but the reception to the Cavs set has been overwhelmingly positive. Usually the fanbases really like the city uniforms because they represent something to their home. Honestly I also think some are way better than a team's main uniform sets. This also isn't just something the NBA does. It's present in almost all sports and all levels of competition, aside from the NFL. The NHL hasn't gone full "city" but Reverse Retro has plenty of elements that break from a teams official branding. I'm not going to lose any sleep because team wears a different uniform for a dozen games a season.
  3. Cavs look better than the leaks, but still not anything amazing. Really not a fan of the huge blue circle on the shorts. They went with a Cleveland Metroparks theme. Honestly don't know why they went with light blue instead of green if that's the case. Can't say I've been impressed by anything this "visual artist" has done since he was put in charge of the Cavs branding.
  4. New Akron uniforms and court design for this season. Definitely like the more traditional approach across all sports since they switched to the new logo.
  5. Lots of "meh" logos here. All the new logos are downgrades except for Seattle and maybe DC. The Renegades logo looks like it was designed for Dallas and then they just decided to leave the D in there. Guardians doesn't fit well with Orlando and I have no idea what's going on with that Vipers logo.
  6. Very cool contest. Although I must have horrible taste because it seems that every one I voted for was not leading the race.
  7. I like these a lot better than the previous Quebec retros. Almost like the Avs came out with a "city" version of their normal jerseys, which is a really cool approach. I'm assuming these will be very popular in Colorado.
  8. I like this look at lot for the Celtics. Switch out the green for wine and this is exactly the template the Cavs should have worked with.
  9. "So clean"? Yeah nice try. The Bills entire identity is the most bland in the entire league.
  10. My first thought was a chainlink fence. But that's probably because the jersey is hanging on a chainlink fence and my mind just went there. The wordmark has a tattoo feel so maybe some type of urban/street lifestyle theme? I honestly have no idea what direction this is going.
  11. Think these win the award for least accurate throwbacks in the history of sports. I'm no expert in Miami (OH) football uniform history, but I'm pretty certain they've never worn anything like this before. The team claims they are based on these... But hey it's a red jersey and white helmet. Guess that's close enough.
  12. Looks like the Erie Otters are going to have a new gold jersey based on their original template. https://www.instagram.com/p/CjYo_-Tvb2v/ They really butchered their logos a few seasons back, but this is a step in the right direction.
  13. I'd probably agree if the Jazz actually used Jazz colors. Having 3 uniforms that are black and highlighter yellow, while using the tagline "Purple is back" still makes absolutely no sense to me. If the Cavs uniforms were something like hot pink and green then I'd group them together with the Jazz.
  14. The Cavs gold isn't nearly as metallic as they claimed and the set is just way too bland. As expected the trim striping is completely invisible. It's not a bad set, but not a good one either. Just "meh"...
  15. This is confirmed. These really do nothing for me. I had a bit of hope that the team scraped them due to mixed reviews. Maybe after Sunday they will be gone forever. The all-white throwbacks or an orange alternate would be way better.
  16. I will say that I never liked the giant white circle, but it feels like it's missing something. Couldn't they have just left the inside white like this?
  17. New Orleans would look so much better with traditional stripes, instead of the Seahawks knockoff patterned sticker. Makes no sense with the rest of the uniform and looks completely out of place.
  18. When anyone thinks of a tiger, the first thought is orange and black with stripes. When people think of zebras, it's white and black. Regardless of what color variations can be found in the wild. This would be like the Arizona Cardinals coming out dressed head to toe in a tan/gold color. Would anyone be okay with that? I mean Cardinals can be colors other than red, why not? The Bengals look terrible. It's just a lazy excuse to go "IcY wHiTe"
  19. I love when fans and media members try to defend their team's awful design choices. Just from two tweets this guy seems arrogant and is basically saying everyone else is wrong for not liking the uniforms. We all expected these uniforms to look bad on actual players and they do. Take the blinders off and try to have an unbiased opinion.
  20. Gay's pants are so extremely breaking the rule that they couldn't really ignore it. I think they let it slide if it's a little bit above the knee. But when the pants are halfway up your thigh that's pretty ridiculous. Could part of the fine be for not wearing padding as well or that not required for all players?
  21. Is it just me or does VT seem to get upset every year by either a G5 or FCS program? Feel like it happens to them more than anyone.
  22. Not only does it look horrible, it literally puts the player at a disadvantage. Seems like just yesterday Nike and Adidas would brag about their uniforms being .00005% lighter and tighter. Now some players look like they are wearing skirts. It's even made its way into madden.
  23. I definitely thought it was a wolf at first too. I do like that they tried something different though. So many forward facing owl logos look way too similar.
