  1. I'm a bit late, since we seem to be moving on to the Lions, but as I believe I said when the Jets confirmed they were going back to the Sack Exchange jerseys, it's pretty much a lateral move for me, maybe a slight upgrade because the lack of black on the primary home & away.

I'm surprised they updated the logo, it seemed like they were  gonna go straight throwback with everything. I'm not yet sure how I feel about the new jet, it looks a bit more like a jet but it also makes it look "slower."

I'm looking forward to seeing the Lions, but I'm not sure the teaser tells us much yet, though. I'll probably have more to say after the official reveal.

The Mets hat with the bridge has the same sticker. But it's pretty easy to move a sticker from one hat to another. They conveniently did not get the actual tag in frame for either hat. The designs on the under-brim are a dead giveaway that those are CC fashion caps. On-field hats have a black under-brim, just like the regular hats. The Tigers' on-field hat could be very similar, but that one's not it.

The Phillies’ City Connect cap has a pattern underneath the brim, so it’s not unprecedented for an on-field City Connect hat to have it.

If anything, all of the attention given to the inside of the hat adds credence to it being the official on-field hat, in my opinion.

  3. This is the slippery slope I feared when it came to the allowing for alternate helmets. Two helmets was pushing it, but it allowed for fun throwback designs like the Bucs and Seahawks. But a third helmet design feels unnecessary for pretty much every team. At this point, they might as well allow teams to have as many helmets as they want, like it's college (not that I would endorse that).

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore traditionalist by any stretch, but the one-helmet-rule was a nice limitation that kept brands intact for the limited 17-game season and elevated helmets to a central component of the brand. Now, I can't think of any team with two helmets that would benefit from a third one.

  4. I'm so glad to see you're going through with this! And I'm honored that I could be an inspiration for it, as your original baseball series is one of my favorites that I took a lot of inspiration from myself!

Boston looks great, I especially love the "Fenway Heritage" uniform, I wish that was one I could've come up with myself. I'm looking forward to following the rest of the series!

  5. This is random, but one thing I really appreciate about the City Connect program in MLB so far is that essentially all of the designs still have at least some team-related imagery integrated in one form or another.

I think one of the reasons the NBA’s City program has gone off the rails is that, for most of the designs now, you can barely tell what team it’s for, if at all. I think some of them don’t even have any regular team logos or share the main color scheme.

I’m honestly really excited for all of the reveals this year. (Not so much the Phillies tomorrow, just because, assuming the leak is real, that looks to be the worst City jersey so far, in my opinion).

That and it’s a gimmicky “old timey” font that you’d find on Creative Market for $20. It’s also one of Brandiose’s first baseball projects and purging Brandiose is always preferred.

I’ve always liked the old-timey font 🤷‍♂️ It alludes to the Reds’ history as the oldest MLB franchise, and ties in well with Mr. Redleg and that 19th century aesthetic. That’s one element of the current brand I’d be sad to see go.

  7. Here’s a look at the real-life version of the “Florida Sox” jersey! Be on the look-out for more MLB MULTIVERSE jerseys available for sale in the near future.

More of an overall question: not considering the new template, are there any teams whose road grays are better, or at least on par with the home whites? I can't think of a single team where the road gray isn't just a worse uniform design than the home uniform

This is considering the new template, which isn’t  what you asked, but: although I like the Twins’ home jersey slightly more than their away, on the new Nike template, the away jersey made it through relatively unscathed: since it has pinstripes, there’s no collar insert, nor are their perforations in the numbers. Unfortunately the home jersey got subjugated to both of those.

That’s not factoring in the mismatching grays though, which is an absolute abomination.

  9. I hope you enjoyed this 2nd volume of the Cooperstown Collection! This was probably one of my favorite series I've done to date.

I'll be around to post my changes to this year's City Connects as they release, and then after that, who knows...

    Now let's enjoy Opening Day!

Grain of salt department: someone on discord mentioned a new teal city connect for the Diamondbacks. It would make sense to drop the sand CC because they're dropping this color altogether. I hope they wear the teal hat with the teal jersey!!!

It wouldn’t be this year, since MLB & Nike already announced the teams that would be getting a new City Connect this year, & the Diamondbacks weren’t one of them.

Heh. The fact the minor league Leafs went out the SAME year as the hockey Leafs won their last Stanley Cup is insane. Other than that, great design as always.

Interesting! I did not know that.

Nice to see you put it to good use 👏🏾

Thanks again for letting me use it!

I adore that sleeve logo! Was that something the old minor league team used or did you make it? It's head and shoulders ahead of anything the modern franchise has done and, honestly, better than any iteration of the dolphin either.

Thanks! To answer your question: yes! It is a logo the Minor League team used, and the team threw back to in 2013, but I had to recreate it digitally.

And the TC hat at home/M hat on the road is a call back to the 2000's when we used to do that, even down to the pinstripes on the road. Our current set is awesome, and my only complaint is Nike's stupid 4+1 rule so we can't have a powder blue version of our home uniform

I have a strong hope/suspicion that the City Connect will be powder blue. That was the one thing I was sad to let go of with the rebrand, and I have a feeling the team feels the same way, given that powder blue is still featured in many social media graphics.
