Thanks! Yeah, I see the Maryland flag stripes don’t seem to be too popular, but I wanted to do something different than just slapping “Baltimore” on a Braves-style template. @DCarp1231 has suggested the Mets variations, I’ll see what I can do. This is gonna have to be the last of the suggestions though, I’d like to be able to finish this series eventually! Thanks, yeah I knew I wanted to include the flag, because I personally love it, but it had to be subtle, it’s very easy to overdo it.

Fair. I felt that I had to distinguish a bit more from the Milwaukee Braves set, which used the same color scheme in alluding to the German flag.

What if... the Braves relocated to Baltimore? Per @coco1997: In 1949, Boston Braves owner Lou Perini made a failed bid to move his team to Baltimore before working out a deal with the City of Milwaukee. I wanted to incorporate the Maryland flag a bit more with this iteration.

Thanks! I agree, I nearly didn't have a Montreal Browns team for that exact reason, but once I thought to pair it with light blue, it worked out pretty perfectly. Like you, I'm also happy the fleur de-lis could make its way over (and provide a bit of visual continuity with the Expos). Thank you! Agreed, it's definitely an underrated color scheme.

What if... the Browns relocated to Montreal? Per @coco1997: After Browns owner Philip Ball passed away in 1933, two Montreal business moguls expressed interest in buying and moving the team there. I paired brown with a color the Expos used tangentially on their uniforms in powder blue.

Thanks! I honestly wouldn't mind the cream alt being the primary home, either. That's fair, I feel like you could make the argument for either. I'm not sure an intimidating name like "Gothams" would mesh well with the Phillies font, though. Yeah, you're not the only one that's said that. I tend to agree, but I also think that's part of the point of the series for some of these teams: that anything but our universe's version just feels "wrong" or "off." Most of the designs I've made, as much as I've enjoyed making them, I wouldn't trade them for any of the current teams we have today.

What if... the Phillies relocated to New York? Along with the Pirates, William Shea tried to lure the Phillies to the Big Apple, to no avail. Obviously the name "Phillies" wouldn't work in NY, so "Mets" works as a replacement that still ties back to the city.

Thank you, I'm glad it worked out! Thanks! The stripes come from my main Guardians concept, I thought they worked pretty well here, too. I almost went with a basic navy/orange/navy stripe, but I wanted to try something a bit different for this version.

What if... Cleveland's baseball team relocated to Houston? During the 1958 Winter Meetings, the executive secretary of the Houston Sports Association made a $5 million offer to purchase the team and move them to Houston. This was a good opportunity to go with the name "Colts."

Thank you! The hesitation I have with a white outline is that it would likely necessitate the script & numbers to be orange, which is why I'm glad the Cards don't have a red (regular season) alt: Here's a look at the black alternate with the "B" monogram: I don't really have a strong opinion about either, although I probably slightly prefer the "O's" variation. Thank you for the kind words and for the inspiration! Thank you all!

What if... the Cardinals relocated to Baltimore (and changed their name)? This is the same Cardinals → Baltimore premise, but if they changed the name to the Orioles, which would have historical precedence, with the team that eventually became the Yankees.

Hmmm... Thanks! I was thinking of using the same scheme for the Braves, although that set still needs a little bit of something, and I'm not sure quite what yet.

What if... the Cardinals relocated to Baltimore? Per @coco1997: After the Federal League collapsed in 1916, Baltimore Terrapins owners tried to purchase the Cards, but the deal was rejected. I went with a red, black, & gold scheme inspired by Maryland's flag.

What if... the Red Sox "remained" in Buffalo? Per @coco1997: In 1901, AL founder Byron Johnson had promised Buffalo a new franchise before snubbing the city and awarding Boston a second MLB team instead. The red, white, & blue scheme recalls the Buffalo Bisons & the city's NFL team.

Thanks! I'm glad the name works out in New York, as well. Here's a look at the black alternate with the "NY" monogram: I like it! It recalls the Bucs' black home alternate, which I hadn't thought of incorporating. I'm not sure if this is what you were envisioning, but I tried my hand at a design separating blue & orange. It feels pretty Florida Gators-esque, but I quite like it. Yeah, I don't know much about the economics involved, but Norfolk has never struck me as a city capable of hosting a big four team, and definitely not more-so than Miami. It was probably always just used as bait to get a new stadium.

What if... the Pirates relocated to New York? After losing the Dodgers & Giants in 1957, NY lawyer William Shea tried to lure the Pirates to move, but was rejected. Since the Pirates use the colors of Pittsburgh's flag, it made sense to switch the colors to NYC's flag.

Honestly, almost certainly not. This one itself was a lot of work, & a lot of the research was even already done for me.
  19. Yeah, that definitely seems to be the most divisive part of the new set. Personally, I love it, but I’ve also never been a fan of the Metrodome “M,” as it always looked too cartoony & bloated to me. I would be fine if they went with the TC on the road, though, & just left the M hat for the alternate jersey (the TC being on both the hat & the sleeve patch would feel repetitive). I do think they should add a white-panel hat to match the home batting helmet, though.
  20. Yeah, I’m not saying they should use that “old gold” that the Jets used for the throwback, as that looked pretty dingy. The typical athletic gold that most teams use I think would be much better.
  21. Unique as a primary color scheme, beyond a one-off alternate, yes. Plus, the heavy use of athletic gold the Titans would likely use would make the two plenty different enough. … And? Just as I imagine the Texans could adopt light blue & red if they really wanted to, I’m sure the Titans could adopt the much more common navy & athletic gold color scheme without a problem. I didn’t really care about the distinction between yellow and athletic gold until the Rams unveiled their rebrand. That’s a significant enough difference for me.
  22. In an ideal world, where Houston’s team (whatever they’re named) can have light blue & red, I’ve long thought the Titans could be navy & athletic gold. It’d be a unique scheme in the NFL (besides the Chargers’ Color Rush), it’d connect with the Nashville Predators, & it’d act as a modernization of the New York Titans:

What if... the White Sox relocate to Nashville? The city & the team haven't had discussions, but the two have been linked due to the Sox' stadium lease expiring in 6 years and Nashville being a prime candidate for a team. I added red to harken back to previous Sounds' looks.

Thanks! I actually created it myself, along with the help of @SFGiants58's Milwaukee Cardinals, using the letters from those scripts and forming some of my own in the same style. That's a good question - I have a hard time picturing any Pittsburgh team not wearing black & gold, so yeah, maybe it'd be that the Pirates end up going to New York. With all due respect, I'm fully aware of which sets I have not done that are in @SFGiants58's series - please trust that if I don't end up doing them it's because I wasn't sure how I would go about a name change and/or I didn't have a different idea good enough to post. I've been trying to maintain posting one team a day, but over the past week or so it's been proving more and more difficult to keep up... with other life responsibilities picking back up, I'm honestly just about ready to put this series to rest and move on to focus on other things. But as I've said all along, I'll see what I can do with the recommendations I've been given. It would probably just be a simple swap of the home jersey on my previous Senators/Twins set, but I'll see if I can do that at some point. I would need sources for these. Haha, thanks! This is another set I'm glad didn't happen in reality.

I’m not sure what I’d name a New Jersey Expos team, and Sacramento would be the same as San José where I’m not sure what there is to do beyond changing the road jersey. Thanks! The “Pittsburgh” script was homemade, created from the letters of the Tigers’ road script.
