What if... the Tigers relocated to Pittsburgh? Per @coco1997, after the Western League became the American League in 1901, the Tigers were rumored to move to Pittsburgh before a new National Agreement was reached in 1903. The Pittsburgh black & gold translates well to a team named the Tigers.

Thanks! As for the San José, I'm not really sure what else I'd do beyond switching the name of the road jersey. Thank you! I almost switched out red for gold, but because of the American Association team, I kept the red. Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, that doesn't really have to do with relocation, so it doesn't entirely fit within the confines of the series. Yeah, I don't think it'll happen either, but it'd be interesting to investigate. Thanks! I figured I had to do something to differentiate from my regular A's concept.

What if... the Cardinals relocated to Milwaukee (and changed their name)? This is the same premise as my original Cardinals → Milwaukee design, but if they changed their name to the Brewers. The uniforms are inspired by the American Association team.

@SFGiants58 tackled both of these - I'm not sure what I'd do about the team name. Thanks! Yeah, the "T" does get a little lost on the powder blue, I think the only alternative would be to have a 3rd "Norfolk" jersey.

Here's a triple-blue with red version of the Tides: I honestly quite like it, the navy alt in particular reminds me a lot of the Cubs' City jersey.

What if... the Expos relocated to Norfolk (and changed their name)? Before settling on DC, the Expos also considered Norfolk for their relocation. I combined the Tides' 1993-2006 identity with the current color scheme and Expos-inspired fonts and logos.

Thanks! Here's a look at the home jersey with the "middle" shade between green and sea-foam on the wave sleeve logo, and removing orange: Given your suggestions though, I think you might like today's set a bit more (which I'll be posting shortly), as it emphasizes the sea-foam more while minimizing the orange. Wow, I have a lot to catch up on! I'll see how many of these I can get to, but if I'm being completely honest, I'm kind of starting to feel ready to wrap things up. This is the first day where I don't at least have a team prepared for tomorrow, but we'll see. As for examples such as the Yankees or Mets moving to New Jersey, I agree with @coco1997 that they'd almost definitely keep their name as "New York," like the Giants & Jets do. It might be fun to just imagine, though. I would also like to have sources on those if you have them, @maxwasson.

What if... the Marlins relocated to Norfolk (and changed their name)? Along with Vegas and San Antonio, the Marlins looked at a possible move to Norfolk in 2006. I went with the Minor League "Tides" name, which worked well with the aquatic theme & shares a similar color scheme.

The light blue would be way too close in value to the gray, to where it'd be essentially unreadable. Yeah I agree, I'm not the biggest fan of it either. I think "Indy" just has too few letters for it to work. I'll see what I can do. I tried a Pirates-inspired design already, but I wasn't big on it. Funny enough, that font looks nearly identical to the "Twin Cities" font.

Thanks! Someone on Twitter (I refuse to call it "X") suggested this too, and while when I first tried "Indianapolis" I thought it was too long, looking at it now, I honestly don't mind it: I thought about doing this, but since the Arrows had the benefit of the prototype uniforms to go off of, I figured I would stick them all under this one brand identity. This could work maybe with the red alt: A white pinstripe jersey might be a good time to try an "Indy" wordmark: I think it's a bit much, but I'll let you decide.

What if... the (Athletics, Pirates, or Twins) relocated to Indianapolis? Arthur Angotti led a group working to bring MLB to Indy in the mid-80's: the A's, Pirates & Twins were up for sale. They would've been named the "Arrows," & had the benefit of prototype logos & uniforms.

Thanks! I agree, even though the Brewers have a really nice uniform set now. I have had that one recommended to me once before, I'll have to see what I can do!
  13. He wore those when he was with the Angels, too. It worked well with the City Connect’s surfer aesthetic. This is a beautiful matchup. I don’t think it’d quite be my favorite ever, but it’s definitely up there. The jersey was actually inspired by México’s alternate jersey in the 2023 World Baseball Classic: The Twins fixed this same issue with their recent rebrand: I could see the Mariners doing a similar brand refresh sometime soon, but I’ve also thought that for the past 6 years or so, so who knows. Were the pants solid white (no piping) when they originally added them, or am I misremembering?

What if... the Expos relocated to Milwaukee (and changed their name)? Along with Buffalo, one of the backup cities if Montreal didn't work out was Milwaukee. The "ball-in-glove" logo was a fitting substitute for the Expos' logo.

Sure: Interesting, I didn't know about that. I have heard rumblings about Milwaukee, but I doubt anything will happen.

Did the KC Royals ever consider moving there? Thank you! That's a good idea, here's a look: I feel like the round shapes in the rope might clash a bit with the spiky wordmark, I'm not sure. I might like it more than the original, I'll have to think about it. It is indeed.

Thanks! The shoulder patch was actually modeled after the Twins’ primary logo from 2010-2022. Thanks! It’s one of my favorite color schemes of the series. Close, but not quite…

What if... the Cowboys remained in Kansas City? The Cowboys (or "Blues") existed until 1901 when they moved to Washington and became the Senators, who eventually became the Twins. Brown & Longhorn burnt orange felt like a fitting color scheme for this team.

What if... the Marlins relocated to San Antonio? Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said publicly in 2006 that talks with San Antonio were "serious," but it was still likely a ploy to get a new stadium in Miami. Using the "Missions" name & combining it with "Fiesta" colors made sense.

Thanks! Yeah, I wanted to try a version without the white outline, but this probably does look better:

What if... the Athletics relocated to Washington? As @coco1997 shared, in 1977 Charlie O. accused the Commissioner of plotting to switch the A’s to the NL and move them to DC, which he admitted had been considered. The red white & blue of the Kansas City A's would work well in the nation's capital.

As much as I like their current seahorse branding, you're probably right, in that it doesn't quite feel Major League enough. It's close to being on the level of the Nashville Sounds & Charlotte Knights as far as being MLB ready, but it's not quite there. I'll see what I can do! I think it'd be a solid replacement on the yellow alt in particular:
  24. MJD7

    MLB MULTIVERSE

Yeah, I'm honestly not sure either. Regardless, maybe I'm underestimating the size of Norfolk here, it feels like an odd choice to have a Major League team to me. Thanks! That's true! I was trying to remember if Norfolk had a Minor League team, I'm surprised I didn't think of them. It's a nice transition from the Marlins name, as well. I do like the Tides' green & orange, though, so if I do them I'd probably want to keep the scheme.

What if... the Cardinals relocated to Houston (and changed their name)? This is the same premise as my original Cardinals → Houston design, but if they instead kept the name of their Minor League club, the Houston Buffaloes (or "Buffs").
