Crazy that it's harder to go up against a glorified college football practice (Ohio State vs DC/Arlington) than it was the Masters (Battlehawks/Brahmas).

Pretty sure the target audience for The Masters since Tiger stopped being good is my 92-year old Granddad who uses golf as a sleeping aid.

I'm not surprised an Ohio State scrimmage would draw more people who want to watch football than a golf tournament. People will go for what is familiar over what is new most of the time and like it or not, Ohio State football is the definition of familiar.

I like alt-football too. I wouldn't be posting here if I didn't. But, clearly, I am NOT most people.

  2. And overall for Week 3:

Attendance really isn’t a huge deal IMO. TV ratings and the NFL potentially investing into this league are the real long-term areas of concern. Or, it’ll be another spring league come and gone and maybe people will stop for awhile. I hope that doesn’t happen because the quality of play is way up from what I’ve seen, but the track record is there.

You're describing anything the Phoenix Coyotes have done or will ever do as a victory for private enterprise and the free market? Do you ever get tired of carrying your balls around in a wheelbarrow?

If anything, the Coyotes are an argument for free enterprise in that the truly free market move would’ve been to let Jimmy Sillyballs move the team to Hamilton.

The catch-22 I see is that people who will say that the Royals don't deserve this because they aren't competitive, yet in my opinion they need a stadium that draws more revenue to become more competitive.

They’d get more support if they made a good faith effort to compete every year, not just when they need a new stadium. Or if they just didn’t say “concrete cancer”.

Right? Imagine the campaign the Royals ran and then having to blame KC Tenants for the loss? How pathetic would you have to be to do that. A poor plan is a poor plan, its just more egregious when it costs 2 billion dollars.

Everything I’ve seen from the Chiefs, Royals and KC Tenants makes me feel like Beavis and Butthead beat billionaires even dumber than them.

  6. The Chiefs could leave Kansas City…..Missouri. They’d go to KCK over by the Speedway at worst. As far as the Royals? Maybe they do go to Nashville? Maybe these teams actually try to come up with a competent plan that doesn’t rely on recent championships or radically change the second any resistance is encountered? Or hell, maybe don’t hire people from failed Presidential campaigns to run a campaign. Crazy idea, I know. Nah, it was the  KC Tenants who hacked this totally winnable election, not big money thinking that they didn’t have to compete and that winning was their birthright.

And (now-former) coaches, mascots, Bam Morris, Tyreke Hill and half the 2020 Super Bowl team, Justyn Ross, and even one or two of the assistant trainers and ball boys have multiple fellonies (maybe... I didn't actually fact check that part.)

Hopefully that was a tongue-in-cheek comment

Tbf, it was also April Fool’s Day yesterday and my big joke was pretending to be a Raiders fan.

On a more serious note, I wish my actual team could go one offseason without a star or a coach or relative of either being a criminal degenerate.

What if he makes the catch but the gorilla rips him in half and carries his upper body (which still has the ball) forward into the end zone? TD for the kicking team?

But remember, gorillas can only be deployed once a game (though I have to re-check the rules on this), so I’m not sure if kickoffs are the best place.

The best time to deploy a gorilla would be 4th and short. Can’t do a toosh push with a 500 pound ape who can bench press a Chevy truck in the way. I’m calling it the Kamikaze Kong formation.

Exactly. Tomlin has made the playoffs with teams that have 5-12 talent. That's not luck or getting all the calls. What's funny is he'll do it again next season and people will be right back here wondering how it happened...again. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you. Mike Tomlin is a great coach.

I know it’s a take that’s been done to death, but it’s no wonder the Steelers have been such a mainstay in the NFL when you have back-to-back-to-back Hall of Fame caliber coaches. 3 coaches in 55 years is never going to fail to amaze me.

  10. So the quarterback situation in Pittsburgh is a scheisseshow, they just got rid of one of their best receivers and I’m supposed to be surprised when they manage to go 10-7 next year?

Mike Tomlin can turn sewage into whiskey and a lot more people need to appreciate that.
