  1. I looked quick and thought the Prince of Wales banners were the Division Championship ones, which I believe they have/did have. The President Trophy and Division Winner banners are dumb.
  2. Damn, I hate those banners. They look incredibly stupid next to the Stanley Cup banners and the iconic retired number ones. Just silly to need to recognize those mediocre accomplishments.
  3. Anybody know if there is a place to snag Roger Clemente's NHL numbers and letters? The HJC blog used to have a hookup to Photobucket with them all, along with updated ones, but I cannot locate a link. Any help?
  4. Half of that revenue for MiLB was from me in the Yard Goats team store.
  5. I've long thought the same. Maybe he likes hockey, but he definitely doesn't like the NHL. He also said he's played at a "very high level" of hockey, which I highly doubt.
  6. New Zealand should have adopted that flag a kid made during the design contest that just said "Ben" on it.
  7. Just in case anybody missed the most Boston thing to ever happen.
  8. I need me one of those Kentucky Thoroughblades jerseys.
  9. As a massive Seinfeld fan, those are all incredible. I have tickets to the game and plan on grabbing one of those jerseys from this year if they are on sale.
  10. Dave Lozo is Stephen A. Smith if was only allowed to commentate on hockey.
  11. I knew that was Dave Lozo before even clicking the damn link. Every syllable he speaks is wrong. He's also claimed in the past that he's played at a "high level" of hockey...does anybody know when and where he played? He speaks from the perspective of someone who hasn't.
  12. I have a flag from the Whiskey Rebellion up in my classroom. Kids are always intrigued by it primarily because A.) they know it looks American but they have no idea what it stands for and B.) it's a pretty cool design.
  13. Oh, Evander Kane. You'll never learn. If the Cincinnati Bengals were an NHL team, they would have acquired Evander Kane years ago.
  14. I like the new update. Seems much cleaner. I already forgot what the old format looks like anyway.
  15. The Hartford Yard Goats are pulling a "What-If Night" at the park tonight and asking "what if" their next choice, the Hartford Praying Mantis, won...
  16. I remember penalties going wayyyyy up in Pee-Wees due to hitting. I just thought it was awful coaching, because most of the coaches in our area were worse skaters than their 11 year players. I think a huge thing that decides how and why someones hits is coaching. I was lucky enough to have coaches who played the game and were interested in the development of players, instead of coaches who were there to make sure their kid got on a specific team. Those coaches told us why we hit and that it's not to stand over a player and look macho. We were taught how to hit and how to protect ourselves if we were hit. I don't know (and it could be rather arrogant of me to assume so) that these qualities are being taught. I went to a local high school game recently and their hitting form was atrocious. Two kids got hurt delivering hits. Speaking of high school, it just seems to dumb to delay it to bantams because most bantams are high school freshmen. They're expected to step into the high school speed/physicality with only one year of hitting experience under the belts? Jeez. And I thought the roller hockey kids trying their hand at ice was a recipe for disaster... But hey, the numbers/statistics/whatever USA Hockey is looking at aren't in my favor, so there's a grand chance I'm wrong.
  17. Is there an age restriction on hitting in youth hockey in Canada? Here in the States, it's bantam level, which is usually age 14/15. I always felt that if hitting is instilled at a young age (and its true meaning emphasized), then players are more apt to do it correctly when they reach their teenage years. I could be wrong though.
  18. Sooooo did Mike Tirico use his white privilege to get his new gig at Fox Sports or how does that work?
  19. One of the big problems with Springfield was the constant turn over of parent clubs. Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Edmonton, Columbus, Phoenix again; all since like 2004. It's tough to get invested in a team with that type of roster turnover.
