Neon for the Mets would be a great idea for this reason you brought up

It's a shame I never got to go to Shea

It is a shame what they did with the bases from Shea.

I grew up a Mets fan and went to see the Rays play the Mets in July of 2018. I was so disappointed to see the base locations were just vaguely marked. I had to look hard for them. They were in the middle of the parking lot where unless you came early enough to see them, cars would soon be parked over them. There was no diamond connecting the bases. Not even home to first for the Wilson-Buckner play. Was such a let down.

Google maps link is for Shea home. You can zoom out to see the pitchers mound and the other bases.  plate https://www.google.com/maps/place/Shea+Stadium+Historical+Markers/@40.7556481,-73.8482859,49m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x0:0xf55b95d4f099763b!2sCiti+Field!8m2!3d40.7570877!4d-73.8458213!3m4!1s0x0:0xe5708faaf362080a!8m2!3d40.7556563!4d-73.8483621

Is it known that a new road uni is coming next year? My memory could be wrong, but I don't recall hearing about a new road uniform. My understanding was that they would just opt for columbia blue or navy on the road.

There hasn't been anything announced about a new road uniform. The have announced that the road greys will be no longer. So I think some have speculated that something would be replacing them.

The Rays might just use their alt blues or light blues instead. But I don't think that would warrant announcing that the greys would be out of rotation if they would just opt to wear what is already available.

    But we will see.

I had initially thought it might have something to do with Hispanic Heritage Month, but the change only happened once the clinching game was met.

I'm not reading anything into it, as from whats been reported its not supposed to be an identity change, just dropping the gray road unis.

I'm trying not to read into it too much either. It's just a very unique pattern to use twice and with it being known that a new road uni is coming next year it just makes you go hmmmm.

  4. This was addressed earlier in the year. The Rays will be doing away with road greys next season and recently they have been featuring meander pattern on the FB profile. As part of part of the future design elements I wonder if this is just a design currently being used on their FB page for the remainder of the 2022 season or something that will be featured moving forward?

  5. Nothing can be done now but I would have preferred if when they moved they went with Washington Grays.

I know the name would have sounded too much like Rays, A's, and possibly Braves when someone heard the name quickly.

But a modern version of a nice modern version like the Uni of Pitt used would look nice in todays game. The H on the hat is for Homestead. But it would be a W for Washington of DC

That’s where the Los Angeles city flag comes in:

I do think the Futures & Celebrity games were indeed inspired by the Dodger Stadium seats, as well:

Blue vs. orange for the Futures Game, sea foam green vs. yellow for Celebrity Softball.

Knew the seat colors. But wasnt aware of the flag design

    Thanks

I would hope the light blue jerseys get light blue pants at least for road games.  The combo of light blue and gray during spring training always looked muddy to me.

    This look also bothers me

I go all Cubs "Wrigleyville" with navy tops that say Tampa Bay and navy pants with columbia stripe.

Maybe the Rays will be getting a city connect and with how infrequent they wear they road grays, the city connect will replace the grays on the road?

Rays apparently dropping their gray road jersey next year. Wonder if this means if we’ll get Columbia blue pants to go with the jersey as their new road look?

They really like to wear their navy blue tops on the road. Maybe navy pants?
