Elvin Hayes had a four season strech where he played for four cities but only two franchises,  the San Diego Rockets, then the next year they move to Houston, for the next year he gets traded to the Baltimore Bullets and the next year they move to Washington DC

I was thinking of some match ups in the NFL that haven't happened all that often and found that the Raiders have only faced the Jaguars in Jacksonville three times and have actually despite being in the opposite conference faced their expansion cousins the Panthers in Carolina four times.

From looking on profootballreference I found on August 3, 1996 the Broncos played three 49ers with the 1996-2008 updated uniform against the classic orange crush Broncos and on August 17, 1995 the Patriots played the Eagles with the kelly green Randall Cunningham era uniform against the flying elvises uniform 

While doing some research I found that the Broncos played the Tennessee Oilers in a pre season game on August 29, 1998 as that would be the only time the modern Broncos uniform faced the classic Oilers uniform

I think there are some cases where a guy having a short stint with a team but winning a ring and having a memorable moment or run with them would make it not really a wrong uniform. A few examples

Kawhi Leonard with Raptors 

Jack Morris with Twins

Bill Walton with Celtics

The Bengals with their win went to 3-0 in conference championship games with the Giants at 5-0 as the teams to never lose a conference title game or at least ones that have played in at least one as the Texans have yet to make one

From March 1996 Sonics in their 1995-2001 green uniform against Bullets home uniform as when they met there the next season the Bullets were throwbacks

I remember seeing  a photo of the Panthers playing against the Orange Crush classic Broncos uniform and that had to have been from a 1995 or 1996 per season game since their first official game was in 1997 after the Broncos uniform change. Does anyone know of other instances where the uniform matchup happened only in the pre season as full pre season records are harder to find

Since 2002 so in the life of a high school senior or college freshman the Royals have actually won more World Series games than the Yankees, 7 to 6

Looks like we can add Julian Eddleman in the new Patriots uniform 

In Titans and Ravens playoff games the road team is now 4-0 the Titans previous playoff win in Baltimore in 2003 and the Ravens winning in Tennesee in 2000 and 2008

Something I just thought realized for a kind of coaching circle of life, Chuck Noll in his first year coached against Lombardi who was in his last year coaching and in his last year coached against Belichick who was in his first year as a head coach 

Dallas Green managed in eight seasons yet only one was for a full 162 game season, three were shortened due to labor issues, twice he was hired in season and twice he was fired in season 

Craig Counsell was on both 90s expansion teams that won the World Series the quickest the fifth year 1997 Marlins and 2001 fourth year Diamondbacks both of which were won on the last at bat in game seven and both overcoming a ninth run deficit and in 1997 he scored the winning run and was on base when the winning run scored in 2001.

A few other short stints I can't really consider wrong, Jack Morris with the 1991 Twins pitching that epic game seven and Bill Walton only playing one season and 10 games as a Celtic.

One bit of irony Bill Belichick got his first career win both regular season and post season against the Patriots.

I learned something from the comments section on a youtube video of the week 16 Oilers Browns game that that was the first game that year the Oilers played on grass
