  1. I didn't mind the two-stripe look, but I'm not exactly heartbroken to see it go, either. I'm absolutely giddy over the return of the saloon font, though! I've wanted that on the jerseys ever since they started using it for end zone art again back in 2018.
  2. NBC's baseball package was starting to get a bit stale, but the new score bug feels like a bit of a downgrade. The batter and pitcher names are absolutely miniscule.
  3. The local CBS/CW affiliate has used those graphics for Sacramento River Cats games over the past few years: https://www.youtube.com/embed/aAOtbsEe5q0 I also found a full game using the previous graphics. I never knew CBS Sports Network broadcast MiLB games: https://www.youtube.com/embed/FswGAPXD89M
  4. I've got a few more. I'm completely fine with NFL WR's being able to wear single-digit uniform numbers. Pre-season games have helped me get pretty used to that. I'm not as keen on the other changes to NFL uniform numbers, though. Purple and gold is a criminally underutilized color combination. I kind of like the Bally Sports graphics package. While I do have a soft spot for the late 70's/early 80's pullover script (including the throwback version of it), I think the 1983-1993 home uniforms might be my favorite look for the Giants in the San Francisco era.
  5. NBC Sports RSNs are indeed sticking with the same graphics packages for the sixth consecutive year. Although, there's now a little indicator that pops up showing what type of pitch was just thrown. I've been watching a bit of the Angels game, and I don't completely hate the Bally Sports look. It would definitely be better if the score bar and ticker were separated, but apart from that, most of what I've seen has been alright.
  6. On the topic of Fox Sports Net graphics packages, here's their baseball one that was used for the 2000 season and for the first couple of months of 2001. This package was a bit of a downgrade from the one used in 1999, IMO, but it still looks quite good on its own. The score bug, in particular, has held up quite well. In June of 2001, Fox introduced the first version of their famous black and yellow score bar, but kept the rest of the package intact for awhile longer.
  7. It's been awhile since I've done a graphics collage, and this is one I've wanted to do for awhile. When possible, I like to use official league or team uploads for these, but I wasn't able to find one for the 1999 Fox Sports Net MLB package. Luckily, a YouTube user (who appears to be a former or current employee of Fox Sports Net Detroit?) uploaded some clips from a 1999 Tigers game last Spring. There are a few full games with this package floating around on YouTube, but none with video quality as good as this. Overall, I think this was a pretty good-looking graphics package, especially for the late 90's. The only complaint I have is that the score bug was a bit small. Kind of a shame this package only lasted one season.
  8. Definite unpopular opinion! I don't hate the 2005 font by any means (especially without the excessive drop shadows), but I just strongly prefer the saloon font. I think it's a great combination of tradition and uniqueness.
  9. I love that the 49ers have reverted to the old-school "Saloon" font full-time for the end zones. It annoys me, however, that they're still using the 2005 wordmark on their jerseys and the back of helmets.
  10. Giants vs. Dodgers is on NBC Sports Bay Area right now. Still using the same graphics. If things remain the same in the regular season, this will be the sixth year of the current graphics.
  11. Not bad, but they're a downgrade from what came before. I felt the same way about the new FOX graphics introduced last Super Bowl.
  12. It feels like a mix of the CBS score bar that's getting replaced, the one FOX moved on from last year, and the current Madden one. I don't hate it, but it's definitely a downgrade.
  13. This package and the current one are probably my two favorites from CBS. The only thing I didn't like from this one was the "heartbeat" effect they had for team and network logos. Since CBS will be debuting a new package for Sunday's game, I was thinking of doing one of their packages for my next collage. I was leaning towards doing the 2009-2012 AFC Championship package or the one used from Super Bowl 47 through the 2015 AFC Championship.
  14. I don't blame the 49ers for moving on from them, but I'll always have an odd soft spot for their black alternates from a few years ago. Especially when they were paired with the red/white socks in 2015 (as opposed to the all-black, Color Rush socks in 2016 and 2017).
  15. Since the Bengals will be unveiling new uniforms this year, here a few matchups from last year that will go down as rare/one-time occurrences:
  16. I'm a bit saddened to see the Bengals officially moving on from their current uniforms. Apart from the jersey side panels, I thought they were a lot of better than this forum made them out to be.
  17. I don't mind the orange pants, but I think I prefer the white ones. In an ideal world, they'd wear each one for half of their road games. They're both better than the brown pants, though, that's for sure! Sticking with the AFC North, another unpopular opinion i have is that the Bengals' current uniforms are better than this board would lead you to believe . The white side panels on the black jerseys aren't great, but apart from that, their sets are fine.
  18. With one half of Super Wild Card Weekend in the books, I figured it'd be an appropriate time to share another graphics package collage. Today, we have the 2011 NFL on FOX package, which is still beloved by quite a few fans, myself included. Though similar in most ways to the 2010 package, there are a handful of noticeable differences, such as larger timeout indicators and out-of-town scores being on a horizontal ticker. The game I used for this collage, the week one matchup between Arizona and Carolina, can be found on the NFL's YouTube channel.
  19. I have a similar gripe with the NBC SNF score bar. You could argue over whether or not possession indicators are necessary, but if they're included they should be clear/obvious.
  20. Here's my second graphics package collage. Taken from the Fox Sports Net Arizona telecast of Randy Johnson's 2004 perfect game, it's an example of the package FSN used for their baseball telecasts from the start of the 2003 season through the middle of the 2005 season. In the Summer of 2005, Fox gave the main score bar a "chrome treatment", but the rest of the package remained intact for a bit longer. As someone who became a baseball fan in the mid 00's, this package cultivates a lot of nostalgia for me, and I still rank it as one of my favorite MLB ones.
  21. Well, here's my first attempt at a graphics package collage. It's for the NFL on CBS package used from the beginning of the 1999 NFL season through the 2000 AFC title game (a new look was introduced for Super Bowl XXXV). I used the 1999 AFC Championship Game for my example. The full broadcast can be found on the NFL's YouTube channel.
  22. Oddly enough, the first graphics package I was thinking of making a collage of was the NFL on CBS package used from 1999 though the 2000 AFC Championship game. IMO, the first really good package CBS had after their return was the 2002-2005 one.
  23. I've mentioned a few times that I'm not a big fan of the new NFL on FOX package, but the firm that designed it gave a pretty interesting interview/presentation on the evolution of broadcast graphics that I thought I'd share. I've also been thinking about making some collages of various graphics packages, similar to some of the ones found earlier in the thread.
