  1. In general, I don't hate monochrome NFL uniforms the way some folks on here do, but in the case of Atlanta, white pants are the best choice at home.
  2. I've got a couple of more: The pinstripes on the Padres' new uniforms are really unnecessary (especially on the road grays). The Falcons' new uniforms have looked better than I thought they would so far. I'm hoping they break out the black jersey/white pants combo soon.
  3. I'd have to assume that FOX will add in team records starting next week to fill in some of the empty space. Also, there's a chance this could be the final season of the current NFL on CBS package (since they have the Super Bowl this year and whatnot). I really hope that it isn't, though. I know that the "flat" trend in broadcast graphics has grown stale for a lot of people, but I've come to really enjoy CBS' take on it. The current package is hands-down my favorite in network history (the '06-'08 one would be up there as well).
  4. Space-wise, I'd prefer it if the new bug was a bit lower on the screen (at least when the out-of-town ticker isn't up). It's also bit odd having the new bug paired with the '17-'19 design aesthetics of the ticker.
  5. FOX's new football score bug is a downgrade, IMO, but I can live with it. Certainly not the worst look they've ever had.
  6. I'm in the same boat. I'll always have a soft spot for the white helmets, but I've come to love the vast majority of what they've done for the current set. Pretty much all of their combinations range from "solid" to "fantastic". The navy top/powder blue pants combo might be my personal favorite. The only combo that doesn't really do anything for me is the all-white.
  7. The new graphics package has had a soft launch of sorts during some high school football telecasts this weekend. I quite like it so far. IMO it's a step up from the last couple of ESPN CFB score bugs, which I felt tried to squeeze a bit too much into a small space.
  8. ESPN unveiled their new college football graphics package. The full reveal can be found here. This is the new main score bar:
  9. After keeping an eye out for years, I finally found a full game showing off the Oakland Athletics KICU package from the mid/late 2000's. This is from their final season on the channel before moving to CSN/NBCSCA full time the following year. I've always loved this era of KICU graphics, especially in the years prior to this one that used a score bug in the bottom right-hand corner (the score bar you see in this video was only used for one year; the rest of the package remained unchanged from the "bug" era of the prior handful of seasons). Unfortunately, this video isn't of the highest quality, but with how rare A's games from the mid-90's through late-00's are on YouTube, I'm grateful. EDIT: Here's literally three seconds of the score bug that was used in the prior season. I like the score bar used in the video below, but when I think of this era of the A's on KICU, I think of the bug. As mentioned previously, the rest of the graphics package didn't change upon the shift from bug to bar.
  10. On the topic of 49ers uniform sets, I didn't hate the black alternates used from 2015-2017. The team was right to move on from them, don't get me wrong, but I didn't think they were the irredeemable abominations most people made them out to be. In particular, I thought they looked alright when paired with the red and white socks in 2015 as opposed to the black socks in 2016 and 2017. In hindsight, incorporating some gold into the numbers and nameplates (as an outline, drop shadow, or even just changing the numbers and letters completely to gold) might have been a good move, for both aesthetics and readability. At the time, I remember it was a bit of an issue for announcers and reporters to read the red lettering on the black jerseys.
  11. I've got a few more... I have no idea why non-traditional/unique number fonts on football jerseys (such as those found on the Titans' current sets) get so much hate on here. Generally speaking, I think they add a nice degree of uniqueness to the sets they're apart of. On the topic of the Tennessee Titans... ... I've really started to come around on the uniforms they debuted a couple of seasons ago. I'll always have a soft spot for the white helmet, but pretty much all of their current uniform combinations range from "solid" to "fantastic". The only one I'm not a fan of is the all-white. The 49ers made the right decision to move to two sleeve stripes. It creates a better look for the way most modern players wear their pads and sleeves. Also, the thickness of the new stripes leads to some better symmetry with the helmet and pant stripes.
  12. NBC Sports regional networks are still using the MLB package that debuted in 2016. I still like it, but I would't have minded something new for this year.
  13. Also, ESPN's sticking with last year's graphics as opposed to their KBO package.
  14. Here's the college football version of the 1999 MLB FSN package I shared earlier in the thread.
  15. I like it better than Madden 20's, which is posted a bit earlier in the thread. Kind of strikes me as a cleaned-up version of the MNF score bar. Only things I dislike are the two random/unnecessary arrows next to the down & distance, and the lack of font uniformity.
  16. I finally found some quality footage of FOX Sports Net's regional MLB package from 1999: Also, I know this is really random, but there's something about that short intro from 2:34 to 2:43 that I really like.
  17. Here are a couple of more MLB graphics packages that have stuck out to me while watching old games. First is the FOX regional package from 1999. I'm not sure if I like it more than the 2000 one I shared earlier in the thread, but I think it's solid. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a high-quality upload of this package in action. Also, the FOX scorebug from 2013 (and the 2012 postseason) was better than I remembered. However, I still prefer the package that debuted the following year.
  18. I'd go with the current orange set. Even though it has elements that I dislike on the Giants' other sets (the gold drop shadows, the black piping around the neck and down the front), I feel they work for the Orange. Plus, that script goes beautifully with the numbers on the front. I dig the sleeve patch as well. If the Giants used this one on the orange, It would be kind of strange to have two different scripts.
  19. I'm not sure how unpopular this is, but I really wish the Giants would take the gold drop shadows off of their home and road uniforms. Gold just isn't part of their color scheme, and doing so would bring those uniforms closer to the 1960's ones they're trying to emulate. I don't mind the presence of gold on the Orange Friday jerseys, though.
  20. First thing I thought of when I saw that typo:
  21. I've been checking out a lot of the classic games that MLB and its teams have been uploading to YouTube over the past few weeks, and I've been kind of surprised how much I've enjoyed a lot of Fox's old packages. First up is the package used for FOX regional telecasts in 2000. Kind of a shame this package only lasted a year and never made it to FOX's national telecasts. Next, is the package FOX used for national telecasts from 2001 through the 2004 regular season. I also really enjoyed these graphics' use for NFL games. Lastly, there's the FOX regional package circa 2004. The main score bar is essentially the same as the previous national one, but the graphics for batter lines, pitcher stats and whatnot were different. I still quite enjoy them, though. I'm also a bit biased since these were the graphics being used when I first started watching Giants and A's games here in the Bay Area. After these, I didn't really enjoy a FOX baseball package until the 2014-2016 one.
  22. I wouldn't mind that. I'd like to see NBC's regional baseball packages, in particular, resemble the current Premier League graphics
  23. So far it seems... fine. Not as good as 2017-2019, but certainly better than 2014-2016. The latter is easily one of my least favorite NFL score bugs ever. And, for the record, I quite like that 06-07 MNF score bug.
  24. Welp, RIP to one of my favorite FOX NFL packages. I wasn't a huge fan of it when it first debuted, but it really grew on me over time. I know the "flat" trend has gotten stale for a lot of people, but I really enjoyed FOX's take on it (and CBS' for that matter). 2017-2019 is easily one of my favorite FOX NFL packages (along with 2003 and 2010-2011).
