  1. Made this discovery today: Harvard has a new athletics shield & wordmark. When did this happen? I dug back through their athletics Twitter and found it first used in June 2020. I haven't seen a single article about it. Pretty crazy for a D1 program. Part of why I never noticed or checked anything of theirs is the fact that Ivy League teams haven't played anything in nearly a year. So anyways, the new shield is slightly thinner and has a white outline. I asked about the curved notches in the serifs and was told they represent Harvard Stadium which is iconic in its own right. I think for more accuracy, just the top 2 serifs should had been notched out as Harvard Stadium is only bowled in at one end & straight at the other. I believe the color has changed from Pantone 187 to 201. NEW OLD Harvard Stadium
  2. They look absolutely nothing like each other. Owl head vs. Full body. 3/4 turn vs. front view. Different fonts. Similar colors though but so what. That's like saying Georgia & Gonzaga bulldog logos look a lot like each other because they use similar shades of red.
  3. Can you keeping share the link each month? I'm interested in how this progresses.
  4. Colorado College Tigers (NCAA D3, DI Hockey) recently unveiled their new brand and immediately wore their new hockey uniforms that night. Designed by Joe Bosack and Co. Full release here. OLD NEW
  5. Just emailed in new logos from 2019 hopefully in time for the Creamer Awards. I was letdown on the # of candidates that were displayed last year so I wanted to make sure each school gets some recognition. I only sent in D1 so they are: Baylor Charleston Southern (CSU) Duquesne Evansville Idaho State Kansas City (UMKC) LIU (Long Island U.) Michigan State Oklahoma State Pitt Southern Illinois (SIU) Wake Forest West Coast Conference (WCC) Missing anything important from 2019? Any good suggestions for non-D1 schools?
  6. It's finally official for Wake Forest: https://godeacs.com/news/2019/10/1/general-wake-forest-athletics-refreshes-its-brand.aspx
  7. Next up, DIII's Clarkson University (NY) Golden Knights. Over a week ago the athletics website & social media hubs displayed the new design but there's no official announcement of any sort. Clarkson is known for their hockey teams, both playing D1. I believe they were tied to the Vegas Golden Knights issue a couple years back. Always bugged me how the old logos came in two, one in green & 1 in yellow despite being called the GOLDEN Knights. New design keeps the green but the yellow is more significant. Thoughts? OLD NEW (combination)
  8. These are 2 I have that may be what you're looking for:
  9. From time to time I spot ren69's work used by others. No money or products is involved with this one but I got a kick out of it (upper right if you're not familiar).
  10. Haven't seen a news article or press release yet but Idaho State's athletics website is now showing the new Bengals logo. Been seeing spots of it on social media for the past week. New version also comes with orange outline. Curious who the designer is. https://isubengals.com/ OLD (left) / NEW (right)
  11. Piggybacking off of edjb93's post, more images of the new identity are shown via LIU Athletics' Facebook page:
  12. It's gotta to be since it has the right colors. I looked it up and seen that the nickname was voted on in May giving the school only months to collaborate a new design for the 2019-20 season, a process that usually takes up to a year & a half. I'm very satisfied with the shark design but not so much the block LIU.
  13. Quality & years of use are important y'all.
  14. This now official: News Article with PDF. School modernized the panther, changed FIT to FT to emphasize Florida Tech, and new wordmarks. New institutional marks came out in May.
  15. UMKC (Missouri-Kansas City of the WAC) Kangaroos just went back to the fighting kangaroo design as a homage to their past. New is the front-facing kangaroo upper-body, KC monogram, and font. Text seems to emphasis the 'Kansas City' more without the 'UMKC'. Colors are similar with a new 2nd shade of blue. This was designed by Old Hat Creative. Source Article. This article shows some cool pictures of the evolution of the kangaroo. (Previous logos on mothership)
  16. Was googling style guides and came across Florida Tech Panthers of Division II. In their Standards Toolbox, there's a slightly different panther logo, secondary logo, & font. Looks like whiskers have been shortened & eyes more piercing. Extra outline removed & colors unchanged. Otherwise shape of the head appears the same. The secondary goes from FIT (Florida Institute of Technology) to FT (Florida Tech). Athletics website does not showing anything new yet, will edit when the time comes. I'd expect to see the new version on their football helmets this fall. CURRENT NEW
  17. This is the more recent brand. Still a big upgrade. Mitchell has been one of those schools that basically had zero identity. It's cool to see Skye Design work with Mitchell & New England College of the same conference around the same time. I hope all this really pays off for both.
  18. I'm actually intrigued by this because the new WCC logo of the West Coast Conference is at each free throw line. Back in March, on page 9, the WCC released their new logo that doesn't have warm reviews by us. Every day since I've visited their website via bookmark waiting for the website to get updated. But it has never happened. I figured at this point the conference dropped it like it until you shared this picture. Maybe into the new school year this July or August everything will get switched over to the new brand. https://wccsports.com/ for proof.
  19. Here are the others. Anything listed present on site have been expired since 2017. (I scaled down the images on this board but they'll still open/save in the original size)
  20. Duquesne Duke (Atlantic 10 of Division I) has gone Modern Gothic & added Electric Blue. Instead of typing out a couple sentences I'm going to link some sources because there's a lot to this: Article Spark Brand Guide OLD NEW
  21. One of my favorite comments on Twitter the day of was "Why does it have a wig?" I really think this will be one of the best new brands of 2019, if not top collegiate.
  22. I'm curious who did the designing. (for Dakota State)
  23. Is there a preference of pixel size of images wanting to upload? Prefer transparent or white PNGs, JPEGs, other?
