  1. A school some of you may know: Edward Waters College Tigers of Jacksonville rebranded in August. They gave a teaser in February of their new EWC mark then last month showed off the new tiger logos. This set was created by Greg Hahn of Designs by Hahn. He is the same person who designed the new logos for Paine College, University of Montana Western, National Park College, and assisted with Oklahoma Wesleyan University & Columbia College of South Carolina. Edward Waters is a HBCU that competes in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference of the NAIA & plays football as an affiliate in the mega 21-team Mid-South Conference. OLD NEW NEW Football Helmet
  2. Over in the CCCAA, College of the Canyons Cougars of Santa Clarita, CA quietly but nicely upgraded their athletics logo. I haven't seen any proof of a cougar-only logo but that'd be nice to see. OLD NEW
  3. Thank you. Representing the Little East Conference of NCAA Division III, WestConn (Western Connecticut State) Colonials rebranded in July by dropping their mascot & now identify with just a W Shield. Not exciting news but still a change nonetheless. They play their first football game tomorrow so I'm sure yet if their helmet logo will change. Source OLD NEW
  4. Since this has died down a little, are you all okay if I bring up D2, D3, NAIA rebrands & new logos? Seen a lot of them lately. I know some already have been posted but myself I've kept it it to Division I since that's what's on the mothership and they're schools most people are familiar with.
  5. According to the brand book, they're keeping the old husky logo has a retro logo so it's not gone for good. On page 26 of Guide
  6. I really wish they would mirror the helmet logo so both sides are front-facing. Maybe should try over-sizing it or do horns only. Link to Tweet
  7. Jacksonville University Dolphins (Atlantic Sun, Pioneer Football League) announced new brand unveiling on August 28th. Cutting it close to the start of football season. Any thoughts on their current or new brand? http://www.judolphins.com/general/2018-19/releases/20180821ehkyop
  8. Northeastern University in Boston released new logos: http://gonu.com/news/2018/8/13/northeastern-athletics-reenergizes-visual-identity-with-new-brand-and-logos.aspx Old NEW
  9. Last October Ole Miss announced they would be replacing the Rebels mascot with a new Landsharks mascot (nickname is still the Rebels). Today the school showed off their new mascot, named Tony in memory of Tony Fein who created up the "Fins Up" gesture in 2008. Also new are tertiary logos featuring a combination of a fin and the state shape, a M-Shark, and a styled M. Further information & pictures can be seen at http://landsharkmascot.com/
  10. UNC Greensboro unveils brand new Spartan: http://www.uncgspartans.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=32200&ATCLID=211767250 OLD NEW
  11. I think it's best to do it right before classes start. I'm sure the population of people on campus is highest during that week with family members moving their kids into the dorms. Foot traffic in the campus bookstore & other stores is always huge with everyone buying new books & merch. Release an exciting new logo and the apparel & novelties will fly off the shelves. Can't speak for UNLV on that one. Add on the fact that the new sport seasons are starting (football, volleyball, cross country, etc.) the school can update some of their uniforms over the summer rather than mid-season. There's plenty of schools have shown off their new logos in June & July but there's no games going on other than baseball/softball and very few people are on campus. The buzz can wear off quickly. That's my thought on that.
  12. I don't have a source but I've seen August 7th.
  13. UW-Green Bay updated their brand on July 25th. Shown below is the new GB logo. Per article the phoenix logo will still be used. https://greenbayphoenix.com/news/2018/7/25/general-green-bay-athletics-unveils-new-gb-logo-and-wordmarks.aspx
  14. Well, we're not quite a month into the 2018-2019 year and Division I schools don't rebrand much due to most of them having established brands. However here's a list of schools that have updated or refreshed in the year 2018: Georgia Tech - April 2018: Reduced the colors to 2, new wordmark ULM (Louisiana Monroe) - April 2018: New ULM Warhawk logo, updated head logo, new gold Oklahoma - April 2018: Refreshed OU logo, new font Purdue Fort Wayne - June 2018: Formerly IPFW, new name & logos due to split between Indiana U. & Purdue U. Stetson - May 2018: New brand Those are the major ones so far. We should be seeing more rebrands in August right before classes & the football season start.
